Chapter 1383 Mind Fuck - Sora-kun?
Chapter 1383 Mind Fuck - Sora-kun?
When Marisha and I were in the same spot as before, she something along the lines of, "In three seconds, you're gonna fall into a deep sleep and remember..." something, something, as I went into my dream state and watched everything as if I was in 3rd person.
But this time, she was just genuinely asking me to think long and hard about that particular instance—but to be frickin' honest, I can't really remember shit that she thought I forgot. Discover stories with empireNôv(el)B\\jnn
But then it hit me.
"Umm..."
"You remember something, dear?"
"Umm... I..."
In my head, I was so sure that I really told Aoi that I was returning my swords back to Old Man Kaiseki and this would be the last time they'd see or hear me—but before my older sister almost turned me to mince, there was one other exchange, or maybe a few more exchanges before that.
You see, I brought my swords up the mountain in a nice box—heck, they were even covered in silk so they wouldn't get damaged even more—and one particular detail I forgot was that I was 100% fucking sure I was holding them, and next thing I knew I was being chased up and down the mountain.
I can't even remember if I handed them over or if she took them from my hands, but one thing's for sure, there should at least be a few minutes missing—or in our current context, there should be a few minutes at least of memories I fucking repressed which should have been the chase sequence instead.
Unless those few minutes were far more traumatic, I was fucking sure being shark food after Aoi's done with me was plenty traumatizing.
Then I looked up and saw Marisha just looking at me, waiting for my next words:
"I... I can't really remember anything... if... if you do your thing again, I might..."
"You want me to?"
"Oh! You're making me willing, huh? Is that how it works? Since I gained some—"
"This is different, dear. You're supposed to be finding your weakness yourself but isn't this more important?"
"I mean— Can't we do both?"
"Well~ You seem pretty relaxed now, and since you've laid down already, why don't we finish one thing first and then the other?"
"What?"
To my surprise, I was already lying on the couch with my fingers interlocked with each other—and much like the missing few minutes of my life, I had no clue when I fucking moved.
I wasn't even sure if Marisha did something already—though I was sure that she already did—but as I closed my eyes to reset and then opened them right after, I was back in my original position, which was sitting on the couch legs spread, leaning over, with my fingers interlocked.
"What the fuck—"
Marisha cut me off, "'That.' That, is your weakness."
And in my case, I wasn't even sure of the specifics but... little by little... I'm gaining something too, though I don't know what exactly. Just imagine... imagine what Kaley and Olivia can do in the future and also their offspring..."
"..."
"Ah— This is crazy-talk. Forgive me, dear. I—"
"I'm sorry, it's not that. I do agree but we're evolving way~ slower than those things out there. You can even say that we have a cap or limit as to how much we can evolve and with our lifespan, the only way to see it through is through our—as you said, our offspring. And that's a whole other conversation by itself..."
"I agree... But we are getting sidetracked too, huh?"
I chuckled, "We are, heh."
With that said, we weren't in a time crunch per so because technically, I already got what I came for—which was bits of knowledge about gaining resistance to hypnosis. However, I was eager to come back tomorrow because as we started to chat normally, Marisha just remembered that she had prior appointments that were scheduled way~ back.
Even though I'm kind of the head honcho, it'd do me well to respect her free time and her time with her other patients—because yeah, in the future, who knows how many people she'd impart bits of resistance to mental attacks?
'I mean, it's not like those people exists one to one and yeah, if push comes to shove, we could easily just merc the guy and have everyone else in his fold succumb for a bit due to lose of his control...'
However, right as I said my goodbye and turned the knob on her door, I entered a different space—which was definitely fucking familiar—but it wasn't from the same time since it was from years ago.
"What the fuck—"
And when I turned around, not only was Marisha's office missing, but I was standing right in front of our huge-ass Tori gate that would lead to Yamamoto Village.
And whaddayouknow, I was fucking holding the same box in my arms with my heavy-ass rucksack in my back, of course, but unfortunately, I wasn't dreading the inevitable repeat of Aoi chasing me down the mountain but the steep climb that would last a few fucking hours.
The gate might be fucking there but I should remind everyone that the "Village" I was talking about was the whole fucking mountain.
But yeah, even if I tried to walk the other way, I'd find my consciousness back to my slightly younger self, hiking up, looking like a sad sack of shit. It was akin to a string getting pulled and no matter how much I tried to change the scene, the string would inevitably straighten and pull me back.
It's just that now, I would've wished I was viewing it on 3rd person like the last time but yeah, I guess I'll just put it on one of the complaint forms I'd send Marisha because I never fucking expected I'd be sent here right as I walked out her office.
'Or I was still inside it?'
However, right now, despite how "my" face looks and how "I" was feeling at this moment, the current me was getting hit by a wave of nostalgia because it really had been a while since I was hiking up our mountain.
The tall-ass trees, the foliage, the winding path, the fauna, the wild animals scattering about, and just the whole fucking vibe was making me more and more eager to just forward the time to when we'll sail back here.
But yeah, it didn't take fucking long before I saw the back of my elder sister, Aoi.
'3... 2... 1...'
"Wha— Sora-kun?"
