Chapter 1378 Work From Home
Chapter 1378 Work From Home
As we dug deep to making at least ten more of these modules, it didn't take long before Quinn came back before lunch—looking at the training "sticks" we were making in the workshop. And with a brief explanation, she understood the assignment—but funnily enough, she made one of those "Shake Weights" with different lengths and thicknesses by using scrap metal bars and springs.
"You—"
"Variety's good, right? It wouldn't matter as much if you could power through them all, right?"
"You do know I'm a finesse kind of guy, right?"
She chuckled, "Would it hurt you to be rough sometimes? You do know I prefer 'it' that way most of the time too. What happened earlier was different, just saying..."
Unc Zeidrick had to cut in, rolling his eyes while pulling his son off the workshop, "A'ight we boutta head out, enjoy kids. Use prot— fuck it, just enjoy yourselves, you're fucking adults. Just fucking clean up after, a'ight?"
I never looked so confused, "'A'ight?' Really?"
Quinn never smiled so wide, "Thanks, Unc! You're one of the cool ones!"
I almost chortled, "You— Nevermind. But yeah, you came early— I forgot to ask, did the trains just have to be turned on—"
"Yep. There's one that's needed to be hauled out but that other guy who makes napalm—Bogdan, was it?"
"Yeah?"
"He knows how to fix most of it—and I just had to point him in the right direction. But yeah, if we can power up the whole LRT Line, it's possible—no, it's a definite that it could work as it should though I recommend just using a single train with several cars in tow. It's not like there's an excess of people that has to ride them or a place where the need for quick transport exists, no?"
"Hmm, besides using the manual carts— Oh! Those leftover trains could be used as a defense mechanism too, right?"
"Oh~ Just armor-up a few and they'd be good to go. I'm not doin' that shit though— let the apprentices over there handle it!"
"Of course, it'd be up to them since defending that place is their responsibility. So yeah..."
"Hmm?"
"You're not forgetting anything?"
Quinn looked puzzled, "Hah? What do you mean?"
"Think. Aside from fixing the trains, do you think that—"
"Just tell me, alright?! I don't have the— want to fuck again? It's almost noon but—"
"That's— Maybe later, but—"
"JUST TELL ME, YOU FUCK!"
"The engines!"
"WHAT ENGINES?! I HAVE LOTS! I BROUGHT SOME PRETTY RECENTLY TOO!"
"The ones you made that could run on Ethanol! You also said you'd install them yourself!"
"AH— Ah, shit. FUCK! I really do have a lot on my plate too, huh? My bad, my bad~ Where are they, anyway?"
"Behind you?"
"We can do it now, if you want?"
"Now? Can't we do it after lunch? So there'd be no disturbances?"
"You talkin' about sex or—"
"If you weren't into rough shit, I would be choking you by now..."
"Hahahaha! Just messin' with ya. We can just get one out of the box and you find a vehicle to put it in first?"
At this point, time flowed as is, and aside from Quinn and I trying to conceive a child by quantity, not by quality, she was also hard at work to not only convince Megan and Alexa to join or come with her to her garage but also to have Lori and Lisa come over to the dark side.
Because yeah, Quinn still wanted more mechanics in her garage and they were severely lacking people that could run their clinic.
Still, it wasn't Lori's specialty—though it was a close adjacent—but she couldn't care less because she was more of a trial-and-error type of gal instead of a measure twice and cut once dude like me.
It's just that from the state of things, the two sisters: Lori and Lisa wanted to stay at the Ishiyama household. If it was any other day and our numbers weren't this big, I would've shrugged my shoulders and accepted them but the Deweys need capable and/or trainable people as much as the De Leon Family does.
So yeah, I explained to them carefully about the risks of being attached to this experimental relationship of ours though Kaley did more of that than me since I was keeping contact with the Kadena Airbase in the meantime.
Speaking of that particular place, despite many attempts to set up traps, I didn't know whether I'd laugh, cry, or be impressed by Eikiji's slipperiness because he was yet to be captured, trapped, or even held accountable for his thieving actions because he struck again and stole a bunch of spoons, forks, and knives for shit and giggles, adding on to the list of things I'd have to replace once we go over there.
"Stop laughing!" Lieutenant Sanders exclaimed, "I don't know how to use fucking chopsticks!"
"BAHAHAHAHAH!!! How long have you been there?!"
"A couple of— It doesn't matter, alright?! Have a bunch of spoons and forks on the list!"
"Will you take sporks?"
"You— Sure... This shit isn't helping you, kid... I'm telling you..."
"Why? Oh, is this why the Commander won't talk to me?"
"He says I can speak to you in proxy since we hit it off apparently..."
"That Jizz-o said something?"
"What do you think?"
"I'mma strangle that fucker's neck with a Stretchy Armstrong when I— And you didn't say anything about it?! You're much higher than him, right?"
"Did you forget that your people are kind of racists too? We have our stains but you have your own shit to deal with as well."
"Excuse me? Well, now that you— Isn't the Commander part American too?"
"Well, if you can see him now, he looks pure Japanese, kid. What can I say?"
"Eh. Still, that put a damper on things since your Commander doesn't verify shit before sidelining me like that."
"It's not like he didn't verify it—let's just say that he's in a very tight schedule. Ya dig? And what's the problem with talking to me? I've been pretty transparent, no?"
"Really now?"
"Shiii ask me fucking anything—"
"Damn, I gave you the chance—"
"What—"
"I know he's fucking listening to this so when are you gonna tell me about that, huh?"
"HAH?! HE'S LISTENING— HOW?!"
"He wasn't?"
"YOU— YOU TELL ME, FUCKING ASS—"
"HAHAHAHAHA! I really thought I got you there. So he isn't tapping in this line?"
"You fucking— How could I know?!"
"Riiight, riiight... Fine. Keep your secrets."
