Code Zulu Alpha: Nerd In The Apocalypse!

Chapter 1374 I'd advise you not to go.

Chapter 1374 I'd advise you not to go.

At this point, it was around nine in the morning—and while another trip outside would still be feasible, it was decided to have my current group do their own thing except for Kaley and Tatiana.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

And for the other three, I gave Ibarra the day off to handle things and stuff with Natasha, Jared wanted to sleep in and spend a bit more time with Alex—and for Quinn, she just realized that she promised to have the trains in LRT Line 1 in working order before she leaves in a few days.

"FUCK! B-But what are you three gonna do?"

Tatiana added, "Yeah, I also thought I'd come with her to the train stations."

I simply answered, "Training."

Cindy chimed in, "Real training or 'training', training?"

I chuckled as I rolled my eyes, "Real training! Anyone free can also join but I'm giving you fair warning that your forearms will be pumped and sore after this—"

Quinn cut in, not even bothering to hide her smirk, "Just hand stuff, huh? Fine, I'll go to the station to fix those damn trains—"

"Hah! I doubt this type of training would matter to you but—"

"Hah? Why wouldn't it matter to me?!"

"It wouldn't make much sense saying it but bring out your Whackadoodle."

"My what? You— Don't call it that!"

"What do you call it then?"

"M-My— It doesn't have a name!"

"Then Whackadoodle! Do you know what a mouthful saying polearm-slash-halberd hybrid every single time?!"

"How about My Modded Staff! Or SBD! Like you know: Squat, Bench, and Deadlift—"

"I know what SBD means! Though it could also stand for Smashing, Bashing, and Decapitating—"

"That sound actually cool—"

"If you're fucking thirteen—"

"YOU—"

Tatiana cut in, "Guys! Can we move on and see what we're supposed to be put through?"

"..."

"We've been for half an hour and I'm swinging this shit for just as long! When are you gonna explain why this shit wouldn't matter to me?!"

I rolled my eyes, "Haven't you noticed yet?"

"Hah? That the shit you're doing doesn't affect me at all?"

"Exactly— Hmm. Not quite, but yeah, with your style that focuses on power and with your weapon that weighs close to 20kg—more, depending on the mods you'd put on it, you wouldn't have much trouble when we go up the mountain."

"Oh. In that place where your other relatives are at, right? But what do you mean by not having much trouble? Will there be some trouble?"

"You felt it yourself with the bands. There will be places there where you'd feel a tug or tugs from all over, for some reason, and just powering through it would consume more stamina. But in hindsight, still a very good workout—hence the mention of your forearms being sore."

Quinn nodded a few times, "Hmm... To be fair, it's like my whole body's gone through my warmup sets trying to keep things straight—but my forearms are starting to get pumped since I began anticipating the random pulls."

"Not just that, the available RAM in your head will be taxed a tad more compared to normal since there's this nagging feeling figuratively and literally you'd have to watch out for."

Tatiana cut in, "Shit, so that's why we can't use guns over there?"

"If from up close or point blank, it wouldn't matter but if we're talking about Kaley's normal shooting range or even regular shooting range—let's say~ umm... maybe 25 feet? You'd definitely see some deviations."

"What is that place, exactly?"

"That's what I've been trying to figure out way~ back then too but I gave up and just called it a weird mountain."

June cut in, "Wait."

"Hmm?"

"T-Then how were you able to take those pictures you've showed us before? If there's this EMP-like and/or magnetic thing going all around it?"

"The thingamajig is not all around it, it's on certain parts of it above ground but it's definitely stronger in the mines below. And yeah, the houses there were built on the parts where it's mostly flat and the thingamajig's zero or close to it but sending texts or any other form of communication wirelessly is still very troublesome."

"Despite having sat phones and the like?"

"Yep."

"I... I kind of wanna go but..."

"June."

"Hmm?"

"Real talk? I'd advise you not to. Better yet, as much as I'd bet my bottom dollar on your hacking skills, you need more than that if you wanna come with us to Japan."

"Wha— W-Why?!"
