Chapter 1365 : More Presents, More Surprises
Chapter 1365 : More Presents, More Surprises
With the same thing we were in agreement, we both just chuckled and glanced at the love of our lives before slowly ending the conversation. However, I feel that it should be fair that I tell him about my impending trip—even if he already knew—that might have me take away some of his members once I decide on our actual numbers.
"When is it again?"
"Not definite since I need to do more planning but in a month or in a couple— maybe three or four at most."
"So, no definite time?"
"Yes."
"When's the earliest you can do it?"
"In a month."
"Hmm... And you'll need the whole team for that, right?"
"I mean, with Natasha and a few others needing a break, I'll prolly pick a few from your squad and supplement the rest from the younger generation and the soldiers from the DDR Camps we have control over. As stated, things could change from a drop of a hat but it's also safe to say that this place had started to become stable-ish.
We don't have full control of the region but we have enough firepower and defenses to do so and we're still growing in numbers and shit."
"Who do you have in mind though? Are you taking me?"
"If anything, I'd love to bring everyone including Ilya but I'm pretty sure he has a different perspective on things right about now. But yeah, I'd love you, Katya, Mikhail, Kuzma, Bogdan, and Vera to come with me— maybe even Marina or Igor but we should have some of you here to hold the fort with Alexei.
Heck, I even want to bring him but we can't just have all our shooters in the same spot doing the same thing. Besides..."
"Hmm?"
"I'm not sure if I told you but the place we'd be heading into— My grandfather's territory is a little weird. And I doubt our guns would be that effective."
"Huh?"
"If we're in any other place, it would work just fine but like electronics or even radio waves, there are a lot of dead zones or areas where things just don't make a lot of sense. I chalked it up to the mineral deposits underneath the mountain but even I would just opt to a shotgun or straight-up melee to save the headache and confusion."
"So it's a magic mountain?"
"Something like that."
"I mean— I've heard bits and pieces here and there since everyone here wanted to know more about how you can do certain shit but— from what I've heard, if everyone there is as good as you, why would they need guns for? Also, is the mountain overrun or infested with the dead?"
I scratched the side of my cheek, "From what I could assume, it seemed the mountain's good, and most of Okinawa is—especially the airbase—but it's because it's on a smaller island of another smaller island compared to Japan itself. Like the island group we are in but smaller."Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"I think I get it. So what I could say is that we can still use our guns but not in that specific mountain?"
"Yep, that's the gist. And the deadheads over there are more active in the day."
At that point, it didn't take long before we all went back—and for the ones like me who hadn't had dinner yet, retreated back to my kitchen to reheat our food. But yeah, almost everyone in our circle wanted to eat with us too, but the huge pot of stew was taking a long time to heat up, not only because of the thickness of the pot, but with the amount of stew inside because of our numbers.
So I opened up the conversation about the possible number of people I'd take with me to Japan and it eventually landed on the topic of not being able to use guns while on the mountain.
Quinn was the first one to react, "Hold up, you telling me that you were sitting on this freakin' info and haven't told me?!"
"I told you I'm planning a trip to Japan, right?"
Your next chapter is on empire
"You— You told me that but not this! I wanna come!"
"Then come! Who's telling you no?! And it's in a month or so, so you have plenty of time!"
"UGH! You should've told me sooner!"
"It's not like you use guns on the daily basis—"
"It's because I'm already cooking up a way to fire bullets from my thing!"
"Please, no. Unless it's for close-up purposes, just no."
"I mean now that you mentioned it, I'll just throw that project on the backburner! Is there anything else we'd need to look out for?!"
I thought for a bit before an idea popped in my head, "Hmmrgh... I guess there's ONE thing that's fairly obvious?"
"Oh no..." Kaley trailed.
"What is it?" Everyone asked in some form.
"I've seen that look many times and it always involves a lot of physicality..."
"Umm... Isn't that what we're looking for him, mostly?"
I rolled my eyes as I waved them all off, "It's not a particular thing but there are spots in the mountain where it's really~ fucking weird, and unless you can read the 'flow' like most of us there do, you'd have to brute force some of it one way or the other."
"Define it."
"Eh. I'm hungry, I'll show you all tomorrow. I also have a commander to contact later, coitus would also be delayed but you guys can make do on your own— Ack! KNG! HELP! KALEY, HALP!"
"Guys, stop! He does have a lot on his plate and he doesn't have the time to tell everyone everything, we apologize~"
"If you put it like that— Fine! FINE!" then she turned to Rin, "Hey! Is the food ready, yet?!"
"Just a bit~ more! Chill! You must be really hangry, you should've eaten then and now!"
"Ugh, with my size, you'd be hungry every couple of hours, it's a miracle my body hadn't eaten itself already..."
As time passed, we finally had a decent meal to curb our daily caloric needs, and once everyone was getting ready for our 'night', I finally tried to make contact with Kadena Airbase or should I say, our contact for Japan, Commander Tachikawa.
