Chapter 573: Where Did This Dog Come From?
The phone line was quiet for a while before Xi Nanfeng shouted loudly, "What the hell! Old Mo, did you take the wrong medication today? You actually took the initiative to invite me over to your house to hang out!""Never mind then." Gu Moqian’s face remained cold and indifferent.
"I’ll come, I’ll come! I can’t miss such a good opportunity." Xi Nanfeng replied, "But I just don’t understand. You can invite me over, why on earth do you have to bring that troublemaker along?"
"If I don’t bring Miss Qin, you don’t need to come either."
"..." That’s just too cruel!
"No objections? Then it’s settled."
"Hey, I haven’t even agreed—"
Beep beep beep...
Xi Nanfeng furiously tossed his phone onto the sofa.
Alright, Old Mo, how dare you hang up on me.
Inviting me to hang out, huh? Don’t regret it later!
Not long after Gu Moqian hung up the call, Ji Wei came downstairs holding two ties.
"Mo Qian, which one do you think looks better?" She held two ties in her hands, one darker, the other lighter.
Gu Moqian’s lips curved into a smile as he looked at her and said, "Everything you pick looks good." ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ novel-fire.ɴet
Ji Wei pursed her lips and smiled, "But you can only wear one."
"Then the lighter one?" Gu Moqian raised his eyebrows.
"I also think the lighter one is nice. You’ve never tried this color of tie before; you can challenge yourself a little." Ji Wei immediately decided to keep the lighter tie and started helping him put it on.
Gu Moqian was a full head taller than her. Ji Wei tilted her head slightly, her expression focused and serious.
He watched her lovely face with a smile in his eyes.
"I was afraid you’d feel bored, so I invited someone over to keep you company," Gu Moqian suddenly said.
"Who?" Ji Wei asked, her hands continuing to work.
"You’ll find out soon."
Ji Wei glanced at him, noticing he had even learned to keep her guessing.
"It’s done." She finished tying the tie and adjusted the collar of his shirt before stepping back.
Gu Moqian pulled her into his arms. "Mrs. Gu is so virtuous. How should I reward you?"
Ji Wei leaned against his chest, her lips curving upward. Then she looked up, pointing at her lips.
A kiss.
Gu Moqian lowered his head affectionately and pressed a kiss precisely onto her rosy lips.
...
After Gu Moqian left, Ji Wei watched TV for a while before getting up to head to the bathroom.
When she returned, she suddenly saw a tall and mighty dog standing upright on its two hind legs, with its front paws scratching vigorously at the glass door.
Ji Wei was stunned.
Where did this dog come from?
Why did it look so familiar...
"Woof woof woof!"
Through the glass door, Ji Wei could hear the big wolfdog’s powerful barks, making her furrow her brows.
Aunt Zhu heard the barking and quickly came out from the kitchen.
Seeing the wolfdog, her eyes widened in shock as well.
Before the two could react, Qin Sixue appeared outside the glass door, panting heavily as she grabbed the leash attached to the wolfdog’s neck.
"Sister Wei, I’m so sorry... Little Black ran way too fast, and I barely managed to catch up..." Qin Sixue said breathlessly, evidently still recovering.
Thanks to Qin Sixue’s reminder, Ji Wei finally remembered.
This was actually Little Black!
In less than half a month, the big wolfdog had gained another round of weight. It seemed to be living quite well under Qin Sixue’s care.
Aunt Zhu seemed intimidated by the imposing and strong Little Black, her face turning pale. She cautiously approached Qin Sixue and opened the door for her. "Miss Qin, please come in..."
Little Black, curious about the unfamiliar surroundings, became especially excited upon seeing the little husky trembling under the couch in fear. It started bouncing high into the air in glee.
It almost managed to break free from Qin Sixue’s grip on the leash.
Aunt Zhu hurriedly stepped back a few paces in fright.
