Chapter 324: Reunion of Siblings.

Chapter 324: Reunion of Siblings.

The crowd was wild as Alden scanned it with a calm gaze. Kyun had long since flown away, saying she was going to find Amyra.

Nyx tugged at his shirt, and he turned toward her.

She was pointing towards the waiting room, saying something, but the sound of the crowd within the arena was too loud for him to hear what she was saying.

"Let’s go to the waiting room. Amyra said she will be waiting there."

Although Alden still couldn’t hear her properly, the movement of her lips was enough for him to understand.

"Alright, let’s go."

He replied with a nod, doubting whether she could even hear him either.

But she understood and followed after him as they walked across the vast arena, under the gaze of hundreds of thousands, toward the waiting room built on the other side.

People kept cheering for Nyx, while some booed Alden.

He didn’t really care and kept walking until the noise started fading and he reached the waiting room area. There was a noise-suppression magic cast around it to provide some temporary peace to the challengers before the battle.

But as soon as he reached the area, a frown appeared on his face unintentionally, because two of the most annoying and punchable people were standing there, chatting with each other beside a girl.

’Ahh, damn. Shouldn’t have arrived so soon, I guess.’

He tried to enter the waiting room unnoticed, with Nyx beside him but since when had fate ever let him off so easily?

An annoying voice echoed.

"If it isn’t a rising star of our academy..."

The voice was as vicious as it had always been.

Alden sighed and turned towards Nyx. "You go ahead and meet up with Amyra. I’ve got some stuff to deal with."

Nyx looked at him, then at his siblings standing some distance away, and nodded. "Alright."

Once she was gone, Alden turned toward a redhead with shit for a face at least according to his perception. "If it isn’t the student council president."

Rodric Draven or as he once was, Alden’s brother, stood some distance away. With him, Cedric stood alongside Seraphina Draven, the twin sister of Rodric.

’If it isn’t a whole siblings reunion... except Seles. Though, I doubt any of them even miss her presence here.’

Alden thought.

He could have walked away, but honestly, with everything he had already gotten himself into, what worse could an old family reunion or two even do to him?

"Ahh, why are you being so distant? Did you already forget the kindness of our family to let filth like you survive for so long?"

Rodric didn’t hold back, as always, while Seraphina and Cedric, standing beside him, frowned at his words. They tried to stop Rodric, but since when did that bastard ever listen to them?

Alden could understand Seraphina’s reaction, since she always acted like she cared about him while keeping a careful distance. But Cedric... his reaction kind of caught him off guard.

Since when did that bastard start caring about me?

Come to think of it, he was acting strange even the last time we met on the first day at the artificial island...?

Did this bastard really have a change of heart after living some time with elves...?

Meh. Who cares?

He shrugged it off before staring into Rodric’s eyes, slightly activating his Eyes of Supreme. He wasn’t the same person he had been when this bastard made Cedric bully him in the name of family reputation.

Alden’s eyes glowed a menacing crimson as he took slow steps forward toward Rodric, the sound of his shoes echoing softly in the silent corridor.

"I definitely didn’t forget the kindness of the family. How could I be so ungrateful, Rodric? I remember every day, every hour, every minute, and every second of the kindness that lovely family showed me."

Alden’s gaze shifted across all three of them as Seraphina and Cedric lowered their eyes in guilt but he just scoffed at their guilt and kept walking until he was now mere inches away from Rodric.

He stopped, his eyes locked onto him.

"And in every one of those moments, your kindness was even more special. So don’t worry for even a second,"

Alden extended his hand toward Rodric.

Rodric instinctively took a step back, cold sweat rolling down his forehead but Alden didn’t let go. He grabbed Rodric’s shoulder and patted it softly.

"Because I will repay every second of kindness you showed me... the moment I get the chance."

He activated his Eyes of Supreme at full power now as Rodric’s eyes trembled, his body following soon after as he fell into a trance-like state.

"In any case, I’m running late now, and my friends are waiting but do await the day I show my kindness, Rodric because it won’t take much longer."

With those words, he turned.

Rodric stood petrified for a few moments before his balance faltered slightly. Seraphina caught him, still unable to comprehend what he had just seen in those abyssal eyes of Alden.

Meanwhile, a voice echoed in Cedric’s head as he looked at Alden’s receding back.

"That boy is dangerous, Cedric..."

"That resentment, coupled with that power, he is not someone you should fight at this moment..."

"Just give up as soon as the match starts..."

The voice came from his contracted spirit but Cedric let out a mocking smile as he replied in his mind.

"How could I even do that...? I am the cause of that resentment, and he has every right to be mad at me. I am going to give my all in this battle and let him vent all his resentment on me until there is nothing left..."

He continued with the same smile.

"Maybe that way... we can finally have a new start as brothers."

"You are hopeless..." The spirit sighed.

Cedric’s smile only grew brighter at that.

"Wasn’t that the reason you chose me...?"

He looked in the direction where Alden had gone as he clenched his fist.

I will give it my all...
