Chapter 833: Chapter 537: His Film Crew
Song Chi was somewhat rushed and disheveled, but he hid it well. To others, he still appeared handsome and charming.
Some even secretly laughed, thinking Song Chi must have seen his wife coming and thus dressed himself up like a peacock. Usually, he just wore shorts and a T-shirt.
Song Chi strode towards Zhou Yun.
Zhou Yun looked up and smiled at him, her smile also carried a hint of helplessness.
"When did you arrive? Why didn’t you tell me?" Song Chi said quietly after sitting down, "I had already driven far away."
"Luckily, I called your assistant, otherwise you might have driven straight to Shanghai while I was waiting for you." Zhou Yun laughed.
Zhang Hongyu heard the young couple’s conversation, found it a bit odd, and asked, "What are you two talking about?"
Song Chi explained the situation to Zhang Hongyu.
Zhang Hongyu, upon hearing, sighed happily, "You both tried to surprise each other but missed it, just like O. Henry’s short story ’The Gift of Magi,’ where both tried to buy a gift for the other, ending in an ironic twist."
Zhou Yun asked, "You haven’t had breakfast yet, have you?"
"I had some bread." Song Chi said, "Go ahead and eat, I’m not in a hurry, I’ll wait for you."
Zhou Yun nodded and continued eating her breakfast.
Song Chi kept his eyes fixed on Zhou Yun, not looking away.
Zhou Yun calmly let him look, without the slightest embarrassment.
The people around noticed and tutted, saying, "What a display of affection."
They were used to following the crew around, easily understanding how hard it was for the young couple to part when they rarely got to be together.
No one rudely interrupted to greet them.
Zhang Hongyu quickly finished her breakfast and said, "Song Chi, make sure to keep Zhou Yun company, I’m heading to the set."
"Alright." Song Chi nodded, "Bye, Sister Hongyu."
After Zhang Hongyu left, only the two of them remained at the table.
Zhou Yun finished her last bite, looked up at him, and asked, "You don’t have any scenes today, yet you still lied that you did."
Song Chi replied, "I thought I’d give you a surprise since you said you were coming."
"I finished filming yesterday, entered the house, and found no one there. I suddenly felt down, so I came to find you." Zhou Yun said, "Is your filming going well?"
"Not bad, we haven’t shot the main scenes yet. It’s just started, and everyone is getting into character." Song Chi said.
"Laissez-faire" is a spy thriller. This genre requires strong skills in both storyline and acting.
A good film is remarkably well-made, whereas a bad one is just the opposite.
The two of them chatted a while in the restaurant, and Song Chi asked, "Are you going back today?"
Zhou Yun shook her head, "I can take the day off tomorrow, so I’ll head back tomorrow."
"That works out, I have a major night scene to shoot today, so I am free during the day and can accompany you around." Song Chi said.
Zhou Yun curiously asked, "Where is your filming taking place?"
Song Chi replied, "We borrowed a villa from the Republic era and converted it into our set. Eighty percent of our scenes are shot in that villa."
Zhou Yun understood and nodded.
"Want to visit the set?" Song Chi asked.
Zhou Yun shook her head, saying, "Let’s not. I don’t want to interrupt their shooting."
Song Chi took Zhou Yun for a walk nearby.
But the weather was too hot, and they returned shortly.
In such scorching sun, they couldn’t bear staying outside too long.
"Staying in the hotel with air conditioning is way more comfortable." Song Chi said, "Want to get a massage? The hotel has masseurs."
"Sure." Zhou Yun immediately nodded, "Lately, my muscles are stiff; I need to loosen them up. Sigh, wearing high heels all the time during the filming of ’Under the Grand Dress,’ my feet were nearly swollen."
They both went for a massage and comfortably dozed off for a bit. It wasn’t until noon when Zhou Yun heard Song Chi’s call and slowly woke up.
Song Chi said, "It’s lunchtime. What do you want to eat?"
Zhou Yun had a pleasant little nap, stretched on the lounge chair, and felt completely relaxed.
"Me? I’m easy; anything is fine."
Song Chi said, "How about a nearby private kitchen? Mo Yu took me there once. But it requires a reservation in advance, so I don’t know if we can get a table now."
