Chapter 766: Chapter 515: Script Reading Session
Zeng Lili was one of the earliest actors to join the crew.
After meeting Zhou Yun in "Falling Leaves," within just a year, this was already their third collaboration.
"Lili, thank you for coming to support me." Zhou Yun and Zeng Lili warmly embraced.
The role of the editor that Zeng Lili played was initially intended for Fan Zhu.
But after Fan Zhu had a conflict with Zhou Yun, she withdrew. Zhou Yun invited Zeng Lili to step in, and Lili agreed without hesitation, showing great support.
Zeng Lili chuckled and waved her hand, saying, "No need to be so formal with me."
Before the official start, there was one more script read-through meeting where all actors were present.
About a dozen main actors sat down one after another around a U-shaped table to introduce themselves to everyone.
"I’m very pleased to have the opportunity to create this drama with all of you," Zhou Yun, as the lead actress and uncredited producer, welcomed everyone, "The initial proposal to produce ’Under the Grand Dress’ happened more than a year ago. Although many changes have occurred since, we have still managed to bring this project to today, soon to start filming. I’m truly honored to be shooting this drama with you all in the coming period, let us all give our best."
Everyone applauded.
There were several well-known actors among the dozen, including Zhou Yun, each accompanied by a team. As is common in the industry, the production side is responsible for the actors’ teams’ food, clothing, accommodation, and transportation during the entire shooting process.
In the large meeting room, directors and actors sat at the table, with many chairs behind them occupied by members of various teams.
Director Ning Yufeng said, "In this coming period, I’ll be fighting side by side with everyone to create an amazing work!"
The opening remarks ended.
Actors introduced themselves in turn, each displaying different personalities and styles.
These actors were meticulously selected by Zhou Yun, Zheng Xiaowen, Zhou Lan, and He Yong. Zhou Yun was familiar with them, but they might not know each other as well.
After the introductions ended, they finally began reading the script.
TV drama scripts are much longer than movie scripts; they could only finish reading the first four episodes today and would continue tomorrow.
As the male lead, Zhou Jianfeng was visibly nervous, a kind of nervousness that everyone could see.
Ning Yufeng joked, "It seems that even being the male lead, one can’t help feeling nervous acting with Zhou Yun and Zeng Lili, now I feel relieved, I thought I was the only one nervous."
After Ning Yufeng made this remark, everyone laughed.
"I’m also very nervous!" Cheng Shencheng raised her hand and said, "I couldn’t even sleep last night. When I finished watching ’Behind the Scenes,’ just thinking about soon shooting a film with such incredible actors made me feel overwhelmed."
Cheng Shenlv is a very young actress. Before "Behind the Scenes," she had only acted in one drama directed by a veteran director. Though she only had a small role appearing in about four episodes, she received much acclaim.
She is an actress who felt very relaxed during her first acting experience.
Zhou Jianfeng, hearing everyone’s comments, scratched his head a bit embarrassedly.
"Sorry, embarrassing you all."
Zhou Jianfeng was genuinely nervous and uneasy. He didn’t know how to describe his feelings; previously, he was disappointed and upset for not getting the opportunity to act in "Under the Grand Dress." Later, however, he surprisingly got to play the male lead, even his agent said he was lucky and repeatedly cautioned him not to hold any grudges for being initially overlooked. But now that it was time to act, despite all his preparations, he still inevitably felt nervous.
Deep inside, he had a worry that even his agent didn’t know about. He was concerned that his performance wouldn’t be approved by Zhou Yun and the others and that he might be replaced. This anxiety and unease continuously haunted him, troubling him during this period. In fact, he also understood that the more nervous he was, the worse he would perform, but although he understood this principle, he couldn’t help it.
He was grateful for Director Ning Yufeng’s words, which helped ease his embarrassment.
However, on the other hand, his anxiety and nervousness were not alleviated.
