Chapter 570 - 346 Kind and Silly Girl 2
Workers were preparing to knock off when they couldn’t help but take a second glance at the sight of a fashionable beauty approaching.
Tian Xin spotted Tang Baijin and hurriedly called out, "Young Master Tang..."
Having been quite busy recently, Tang Baijin was genuinely surprised to see Tian Xin, but that form of address...
Ignoring the workers’ curious looks, Tian Xin walked up to him, "Have you finished work?"
"It seems you’re inviting me to dinner?" Tang Baijin said with a slight smile, still wearing his safety helmet and clad in khaki, exuding a different kind of distinguished elegance.
Tian Xin smiled: "Yes! I’m introducing a girlfriend to you! Remember when you asked me for a favor last time?"
Tang Baijin took off his safety helmet and placed it on her head. She had entered the construction site without knowing to wear one.
"Why are you putting this on me?" Tian Xin’s head was small, his was large, and his helmet covered her forehead.
"You, Miss, grace my construction site with your presence; naturally, I have to ensure your complete safety," Tang Baijin responded.
He headed toward the office, and an excited Tian Xin followed him. She noticed his office desk was simple but remarkably tidy and clean despite being a makeshift one at the construction site.
She removed the helmet and placed it on the desk. As she turned her head, Tang Baijin noticed her ear was a bit red and swollen. "What happened?"
"Pinched by mom..." Tian Xin didn’t hide it from him; as she spoke, she unconsciously furrowed her brows, "I don’t even dare to go home now!"
A straightforward and sincere girl, Tian Xin was easy to read, and Tang Baijin understood why she had come to see him.
"I’ll spend the evening with your mom!" Tang Baijin offered.
"Really?" Tian Xin was profoundly touched, "You have no idea, my ears are almost callused from my mom’s nagging. Even when I sleep, I feel like she’s reciting the Diamond Sutra or something. It would be great if you could keep her company!"
Tang Baijin glanced at her, "Let’s go!"
Tian Xin, utterly delighted, followed him outside. Generously, she offered, "To thank you for dealing with my mom, I’ve decided to be your chauffeur. Hop in!"
Without any qualms, Tang Baijin got into her car, and Tian Xin happily drove home.
As Tian Xin entered the house, her mother was getting ready to chant her scriptures but was surprised to see Tang Baijin had come too, "Baijin is here, and you didn’t even tell me, Xin. I was going to prepare dinner!"
Tian Xin replied, "Mom, I’ll cook dinner, you can chat with Baijin!"
"That works!" Tian’s mother was of course thinking it’d be good for her daughter to show off her cooking skills in front of Tang Baijin, at least to let him see that she was a capable woman, fit for both the hall and the kitchen.
Tian Xin went to the kitchen and put on an apron.
"Baijin, did you come straight here after work?" Tian’s mom was very pleased with him but regretted that Tian Xin was always reluctant to agree, "Did Tian Xin invite you?"
Tang Baijin took a sip of water, "I happened to pass by after work, so I just came for a free meal!"
To win a mother-in-law’s approval is a sign that the day is not far off when he will marry her daughter.
Clearly, Tang Baijin was protective of Tian Xin in all his expressions, making Tian’s mother feel that this young man really was exceptional.
And thus, the mother-in-law found her son-in-law increasingly agreeable.
The food Tian Xin cooked was soon on the table. Home-style dishes, simple yet for a single man who rarely returned home to the Tang Family, the warmth of home and delicious meals were like a dream.
Those at the top are destined to be lonely.
A renowned architect and a young master born with a silver spoon, he had yet to enjoy the warmth of family.
Seeing Tang Baijin staring blankly without eating, Tian Xin asked, "Isn’t it good?"
Looking up at her, with a soft smile in his eyes, Tang Baijin said, "It’s delicious! It feels just like home."
Tian Xin didn’t think much of it, simply shrugging it off, "These are just simple home-cooked dishes after all!"
Tang Baijin ate quite a lot at her house this meal.
Tian’s mom was especially happy, although her naive daughter was still oblivious to his intentions.
After dinner, Tian’s mom suggested, "I’ll wash the dishes! Baijin has had a full meal, Xinxin, you take him for a walk outside!"
Tian Xin had actually planned to stay home and watch TV, but recalling the brainwashing she’d have to endure alone with her mom, she agreed, "Okay!"
The two stepped outside, and Tian Xin noticed that he merely draped his trench coat over his wrist, wearing just a V-neck long-sleeve sweater. She could vaguely tell he had put on a little belly weight.
