Chapter Thirty-Nine
Chapter Thirty-Nine
Zach.
I watched her beautiful face against my pillows. She slept peacefully. I think she was even smiling in her sleep. And I hoped I was the source of that.
I read somewhere that if a phobia was associated with a horrific memory during thunderstorms, replacing it with another memory would help get rid of or at least diminish the effects of the night our mother beat me up thinking I was her.
I only intended to comfort her last night. But then, she always had this effect on me. My body ached for her—all the time. One touch was all it took, and I would be rock hard. I was physically attracted to her, that pretty much was obvious. It didn’t matter what clothes she wore, what color of contacts she put on, or what color she dyed her hair. I was sexually attracted to her—hopelessly. There was something primal in the way I wanted her. Many times, I was filled with uncontrollable lust for her.
Last night was a first for me. I achieved an orgasm twice in one session, without losing my erection inside her. That never happened to me before. I didn’t even know it was possible.
But when I called myself her brother, I realized the taboo of our relationship. I realized the real meaning of that and what it meant to her.
Blaire never had a boyfriend before. She dated some guys but never really went more than two dates with them. Why? She had trust issues. She was alone for half of her life and didn’t really trust anybody to stick around for long. Could you blame her? Her own parents practically abandoned her. All throughout these years, she was emotionally dependent on the brother she’d known when she was little. And for her, emotions and arousal came hand in hand with trust. She only trusted one person in her life—me.
It gave me intense emotion knowing that no man could make her wild and wanton in bed. She didn’t have inhibitions in bed when it came to me. She trusted me completely. She had given up herself to me without reservations. Because it was me. And she fed the greedy beast inside me. It gave me a sense of power knowing no one else could possess her the way I did.
I was so turned on while I was still inside her that I couldn’t help fucking her again, even though I had just cum. The second one was even more powerful than the first. We came together, and I almost collapsed on top of her.
She was on her back; my weight was on her.
She took a deep breath and said, “Babe, you’re squishing me.”
“Oh shit! I’m so sorry, baby,” I said, pulling myself up and out of her. I gathered her to my arms and hugged her tightly, afraid that if I let go, she would disappear, and I wouldn’t be able to live with that. As I breathed in the scent of her and drifted to sleep, I knew I meant everything I said to her. I would take a bullet for her. I would die without her. I would die for her. Anytime. Any day.
Because I loved her.
Damn! I am so deeply in love with her! I already loved her as a sister before. But now, she was more than that. And I loved her the way a man loved a woman.
I had dated other girls before, slept with quite a few of them. But I was never like this. I wasn’t jealous, and I wasn’t possessive. I was a take-it-or-leave-it kind of guy. I was too engrossed with my work and my studies to be serious about a girl. But when I found her that night at the concert, I immediately felt drawn to her. And I was filled with this need to possess her, mark her, make her mine—only mine.
Whenever I saw a guy approach her or talk to her, my blood boiled. I couldn’t control it. Anger seeped through me, and I couldn’t help it.
I didn’t know what the future held for us. But I didn’t think I would be getting her out of my system any time soon. I was too addicted to her to let her go. I was too in love with her to set her free. Someday, we’d find a way.
Suddenly, there was a knock on my door. I froze for a moment.
“Son…” I heard my father calling me outside.
Shit!
She bolted up from bed after hearing our father’s voice.
“Oh my god!” Her eyes were wide with fear.
“Shower,” I whispered to her.
She gathered her clothes on the floor and ran quietly to the shower. I put on my boxers and then went to the door.
“Good morning, Dad,” I greeted my foster father. I tried to act normal, almost not breathing at all to keep my breathing steady.
“Good morning,” he smiled at me. “I just came home. I have a meeting with one of my business associates in the golf club.”
“Where’s Mom?”
“Still in Europe, I reckon. Where’s your little sister?”
“I-in the shower, I think,” I responded, swallowing hard. It was true. She was in the shower. I just left out the fact that she was in my shower.
This man had a spotless reputation to take care of. That reputation was the only thing that was keeping Blaire and her mother in this house. He was keeping them here to give a good public image for him and his company. He was keeping me because… well, he was naming me his heir. In my heart, I knew this man truly loved me. Legally, I was no longer his son. That’s why I thought he was being unfair to Blaire. Legally, he was Blaire’s father.
“We’re going to Miami later, remember?”
Shit! I forgot about that. His niece was getting married, and his sister invited all of us for a small family reunion.
“Oh, that. Okay, I’ll drive over in the afternoon,” I said.
“Okay, when you see your sister, tell her the driver will drive her to Miami after lunch.”
I shook my head firmly. “No, Dad. I’ll take care of Blaire. It’s a long drive. She’s safer with me.”
He stared at me for a while. Then he said, “You know… your mother and I haven’t been… in a good place for a very long time, right?”
I know.
“If… if shit hits the fan, Blaire…”
“Blaire will always have me, Dad,” I interrupted him. “She’s the only reason why I came back, remember?”
He took a deep breath. “You really do love her, don’t you?”
I nodded without hesitation. “More than you will ever understand.”
In a way, I dropped him a hint there. After all, I didn’t see this thing I had with Blaire going away soon. We may not have a future ahead of us now, but I would do everything to create one.
“All right. Just remember who she is, son,” he said. He turned to go, but then he turned to me again and said, “She’s very beautiful, I know. Just make sure you don’t confuse the dos with the don’ts.”
Then he walked away, leaving me staring blankly into space.
