Chapter 260 - 162 I think you’re crazy_3

Because it was raining, he held a large black umbrella in his hand. When the car pulled up at the long marble steps of the villa’s gate, the housekeeper had already opened that gigantic black umbrella and welcomed Atlas Hallow out.

As soon as she looked up, she could see Atlas’s tall and graceful figure. Today, she wore a very clean and refreshing white shirt, a black suit jacket with a dark camel coat over it, and a black and beige checkered scarf casually around her neck, making her look handsome and reserved.

In fact, except for Atlas Hallow’s temper being somewhat bad, he truly was a man that one could not refuse.

He walked along the steps, steady with every step. As soon as he entered the hall, his sharp gaze immediately fell on Charlotte Miller.

Charlotte’s lips curved into a slight smile, but she didn’t stand up to greet him.

In fact, she was still angry about what happened a few days ago, so although she was happy to see him return, she didn’t show any particular warmth.

"Atlas, you’re back! Come quickly. Look, I’m peeling almonds for Charlotte," Ayla Kim stood up immediately when she saw her son return, grabbed Atlas’s hand, and pressed him onto the sofa, giving up her seat.

As soon as he got close, Charlotte could instantly feel that layered musk scent slowly enveloping her. This fragrance actually made her feel a bit dependent. Charlotte wondered if she had never met Atlas Hallow, if she hadn’t experienced these things, would her life have seemed more calm and uneventful?

But there’s no way to retrace one’s steps in life. Perhaps their meeting was arranged by fate, and after experiencing this man who was like an addictive poison, she wondered if she could ever be attracted to another man?

"What are you thinking?" Atlas looked at Charlotte’s small face, her expression seemed quite rich. The way her black, crystal-like eyes moved gave her a mischievous and clever demeanor. Her exterior seemed like a well-behaved woman, but she wasn’t at all; this girl was full of tricks.

He didn’t know what Charlotte was really thinking; why were her thoughts so erratic?

Sometimes, he even thought there was a generation gap between them, as he often couldn’t keep up with Charlotte’s train of thought, especially when this girl talked about her ideal life, there was no room for him to give his opinions at all.

"Nothing," Charlotte lightly replied, her long eyelashes fluttering, her gaze sweeping over his fingers. His fingers were long and distinct, often gently brushing across her brows with warmth, yet those same fingers had once gripped her shoulder tightly, telling her what she was forbidden to do.

It was all him...

"You deserve to be punished for not thinking of me?" Atlas leaned in to whisper in Charlotte’s ear, causing her to blush. He dared to flirt so boldly even with the elders present; truly too audacious.

"Hurry up and come eat so you don’t starve our Hallow Family’s little darling," Ayla Kim came bustling out of the dining room, having personally ordered each dish for today.

Ever since learning of Charlotte’s pregnancy, it seemed as if Ayla had gained a new lease on life, whereas Kinsley Lee’s face remained sullen, not uttering a word, her gaze coldly fixed on the upstairs room of Ava Walker and her husband.

"Being a little late won’t kill anyone. What’s all the fuss about? Just because she’s pregnant doesn’t mean missing one meal would be the end of the world. Amir hasn’t even returned yet." Suddenly, a cold remark from Kinsley’s mouth made everyone’s expression turn unnatural, and the atmosphere became extremely awkward.

Charlotte still said nothing, knowing that this wasn’t the time for her to speak up.

She was a junior, and as long as she could safely live in the Hallow Family, it wasn’t important to care about Kinsley’s words, so they didn’t feel piercing at all.

However, Ayla wasn’t inclined to let it go so easily. The disagreement between the two had long since been vividly apparent. She laughed coldly, thinking back to how Kinsley had always challenged her in their youth; not just over men, even at auction houses, Kinsley would bid against her to the end for a piece of jewelry. Yet, none of this changed her temperament. This time, Ayla had firmly slapped Kinsley’s face—her daughter-in-law was the first to get pregnant. According to the Hallow Family’s trust fund, the first-born grandson gets an additional eight percent of the shares, and this time, Ayla intended to utterly outdo Kinsley.
