Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System

Chapter 583: Loopholes

Chapter 583: Loopholes

Shay tilted her head slightly, a faint, almost mocking smile appearing. "Oh?"

Her voice softened. "What about Spencer?"

The moment his name left her lips...everything changed. Aurora’s calm was shattered.

Her fingers stilled, her expression darkening as something dangerous flickered in her eyes.

"If you’re here to threaten me using Spencer..."

Her voice dropped, cold and sharp enough to cut. "Then you should know better."

Aurora’s gaze turned icy.

"If Spencer doesn’t live in this world... or if even a single hair on him is harmed ..."

She paused. Her lips curved. A smile, soft, almost beautiful... yet utterly terrifying.

She tilted her head slightly, looking straight into Shay’s eyes, her voice lowering into something calm and absolute.

"...then this entire world can go to hell."

A faint scent of burnt caramel from a nearby dessert drifted through the air, strangely out of place against the chill her words carried.

"I will burn everything down."

Her fingers tapped once against the table. "I’ll destroy that institute."

Another tap. "I’ll destroy you."

Her eyes darkened. "I’ll destroy the entire Brown family."

Her voice dropped further, almost a whisper now, yet it felt heavier than anything spoken aloud.

"And I won’t stop until every single one of you is gone... even if I have to figure it out for a long time."

A brief silence followed.

Then she leaned back slightly, her expression almost amused.

"Do you really think I’m some meek little girl?"

Her gaze sharpened.

"I’ve already breached most of the underground networks in this world... and no one even knows."

A faint smirk appeared. "Do you want me to prove it?"

Her eyes gleamed with something unhinged. "Do you want to see how crazy I can get?"

Shay let out a soft chuckle, clearly unconvinced. "You’re overestimating yourself."

She waved her hand lightly, dismissing the tension.

"Even if Spencer dies..."

The sentence never finished.

In a sudden, sharp motion, Aurora grabbed the plate in front of her and hurled it across the room.

The sound of shattering porcelain cracked through the air like a gunshot.

Fragments scattered across the polished floor, one piece skidding dangerously close to Shay.

Shay flinched. Just slightly. But it was enough.

Aurora leaned forward, her voice no longer calm; now it carried a sharp edge, raw and unfiltered.

"Say that again."

Her eyes burned. "Say one more word about killing Spencer ..."

Her fists clenched tightly, knuckles turning pale. "And I will erase the Brown family from the top of this world."

For the first time... Shay fell silent.

The madness in Aurora’s eyes wasn’t something she had expected.

It wasn’t calculated. It wasn’t controlled. It was... reckless.

A thought surfaced in her mind, unbidden.

’The weak fears the strong, the strong fears the ruthless and the ruthless fears the reckless.’

Her throat felt dry. ’Aurora... is already there.’

She inhaled slowly, steadying herself. ’If I push her further... she might actually do it.’

And Aurora didn’t look like someone who cared about consequences.

That made her dangerous. Very dangerous. Shay shifted her approach.

Her tone softened slightly, but her words carried a new edge.

"If you don’t listen to me... then your family will be targeted."

Aurora chuckled. It wasn’t loud. But it was cold.

"Hasn’t the plot already targeted them?"

She leaned back, completely unfazed.

"I’ve already changed things... but from what I see, the storyline still revolves around my parents and siblings."

Her lips curved faintly. "So threatening them doesn’t really help you."

Her eyes narrowed. "You might want to find a better angle."

Shay’s jaw tightened. ’Aurora... really knows how to push people.’

She exhaled slowly. "You really make me feel like I need to think harder."

Aurora smiled lazily. "What can I do?"

She tilted her head. "I can’t let my rival be an idiot."

For a split second, Shay’s hand twitched. She subtly adjusted her posture, preparing.

Her voice softened, almost melodic.

"Then let’s..."

Before she could continue... Aurora casually reached into her bag and pulled out a pair of earplugs.

And inserted them. Shay froze. Completely.

Aurora looked at her and chuckled, her lips curving with amusement. "What?"

Her voice was light, teasing. "Did you really think I wouldn’t figure out that you’d try to hypnotize me?"

She leaned back, tapping her temple lightly.

"You are very smart." Shay’s expression stiffened as she said those words.

Aurora nodded slightly.

"That’s exactly why I’ve survived this long."

Shay took a deep breath, forcing herself to remain composed. "Fine."

Her tone shifted, more direct now.

"If I’m being honest... I will give you an offer."

She leaned forward. "You just need to follow it."

Her eyes locked onto Aurora’s. "And I’ll make sure you don’t die in the end."

A pause. "This is the most generous offer you’ll ever get."

Aurora laughed. Soft. Mocking. "If that’s your idea of generosity ..."

She shook her head slowly. "I don’t need it."

Her gaze turned sharp. "Following the plot means I get humiliated in front of the entire city."

She tapped the table lightly. "So tell me... what exactly do I gain?"

Shay narrowed her eyes. "You keep your life... if you don’t interfere."

A brief silence. Then...

"I’ll give you half of the Brown family’s assets."

Aurora paused. For the first time, she looked... thoughtful. Then she leaned forward slightly.

"Transfer it now."

Shay exhaled quietly, relief flickering across her face.

’Finally... she took the bait.’

A gentle, composed smile appeared on her lips, masking the rapid calculations running through her mind.

’All I need is some convincing paperwork... a few complex clauses... She’ll back off. And once she’s under control... everything will fall into place.’

Her voice remained smooth. "I’ll have the documents prepared."

Aurora nodded. "Good."

Then she added, almost casually... "But we’ll change a few clauses."

Her gaze sharpened.

"If I die... seventy-five percent of the Brown family’s assets go to charity."

A pause. "And to the Waters family."

Shay’s pupils contracted slightly. For a moment...she just stared.

’Aurora... saw through it? ’

A faint chill ran down her spine. She had studied psychology. She had controlled countless people.

But this...this was the first time someone had so cleanly dismantled her setup before it even began.

She inhaled slowly. "Why include such a clause?"

Aurora chuckled, her tone laced with amusement. My ..."

She leaned in slightly. "If I didn’t know better... I’d think you were getting scared and had plans of getting me killed in secret."

Shay clenched her fists briefly. "Of course not."

But the moment she stepped out of the room...her expression darkened.

’Plan A won’t work.’

Her eyes narrowed. ’Then I’ll move to Plan B.’

Not long after, she returned with the documents.

The faint scent of fresh ink and paper filled the air as she placed them on the table.

Aurora didn’t immediately pick them up. Instead, she looked at Shay, her gaze calm yet sharp.

"You should know ..."

Her voice carried a quiet warning. "My temper isn’t very good."

A pause. "If I feel like these papers are fake ..."

Her fingers tapped once. "I might do something unpleasant."

Shay’s lips pressed into a thin line. But inside, she remained confident.

’There’s no way she can find anything. I used top-tier lawyers. Unless she hires someone even better... she won’t see through it.’

She nodded. Aurora finally picked up the papers.

The soft rustle of pages filled the silence as her eyes moved quickly across the contract.

Line after line. Clause after clause. Her expression remained unreadable.

Until...a smile slowly appeared on her face.

For a single second, it looked genuine.

Then...it vanished. Her expression turned cold.

Without warning, she flicked her wrist and hurled the contract straight at Shay’s face.

The sharp slap of paper against skin cut through the air.

Shay had just opened her mouth...

"Since you’re satisfied, we can..."

The words died abruptly as the contract struck her.

The sheets slid down her face, brushing against her cheek before falling limply onto the table and then the floor.

She froze.

Her fingers twitched slightly as she stared at Aurora, stunned into silence.

’What... just happened?’

Slowly, her expression twisted, anger rising like fire behind her eyes.

She pointed at Aurora, her voice sharp and trembling with rage. "What have you done?!"

Her chest heaved. "How dare you?!"

Aurora let out a soft chuckle, the sound low and almost mocking. "Funny ..."

She tilted her head slightly. "I was about to say the same thing."

Her gaze sharpened.

"How dare you try to deceive me... after I clearly told you not to play tricks with me?"

Shay’s brows furrowed, though a flicker of unease passed through her chest.

"What do you mean?"

Her tone hardened. "Why are you picking a fight for no reason?"

Aurora laughed softly, shaking her head. "You really need me to spell it out for you?"

She leaned forward slightly, her finger tapping the fallen contract.

"Fine... I’ll make it simple."

She picked up one of the sheets, her nails lightly grazing the paper.

"In clause 3.2.1..."
