Chapter 403 - 353: Not a Single Good Thing! (Four Updates)

Tong Airui shot him a disdainful glance. In his eyes, both Just and Joyina, this pair of siblings, were nothing good!Tong Yao glanced helplessly at her son. His current demeanor was exactly the same as his father’s when he’s feeling jealous.

"Luowa, give Huo Li a call and see if she’s free to come over. You’re all friends, let’s make it lively."

Yi Luowa grinned, "I was thinking the same, Mom. Great minds think alike, huh~"

Tong Yao chuckled, "Hurry up, then."

Yi Luowa cheerfully grabbed her phone and headed to the balcony. As soon as Huo Li heard Just was here, she agreed on the spot.

Yi Luowa wickedly curled her lips. She hadn’t told her that Just was the Prince of Beidi, wanting to see what Huo Li’s reaction would be when she arrived.

"Will my second uncle come too?" Yi Luowa asked further.

"No!" Huo Li huffed angrily.

Yi Luowa impatiently clutched her phone. "What kind of tone is that? What did my second uncle do to offend you?"

"He made me mad! Hmph! Hanging up now. I’ll zoom over soon!"

"Drive slowly... *beep beep beep*" Hearing the busy tone, Yi Luowa poked her screen hard. "How dare you hang up on me! How dare you yell at my second uncle! Just wait till you get here and see how I deal with you!"

"Let’s just flatten her when she gets here!" Tong Airui sauntered over with a smug look.

Yi Luowa pouted, "Flatten her? Then who’s going to take care of my second uncle? Is it supposed to be me? I haven’t been back for ages. Who knows how my second uncle’s been secretly cursing me!"

Tong Airui’s gaze turned darker. He reached out to ruffle her hair. "You’ve had it tough recently. Mom’s health has almost recovered. Take a few days off. Do you want to visit your second uncle, or go to Country S?"

Yi Luowa peeked toward Just sitting in the living room. "Our senior just arrived. Isn’t it bad for me to leave now?"

"He came for Joyina’s birthday, not for you. Wherever you want to go, I’ll go with you," Tong Airui raised an eyebrow, plotting to whisk his wife away so Just wouldn’t even get a glimpse of her. "How about visiting your second uncle first, then heading to Country S to see Auntie Ni Lu? Once we finish the rounds, you’ll have to report back to me anyway."

"If I left, then what about Joyina’s birthday? It’s her coming-of-age ceremony, a once-in-a-lifetime event." Yi Luowa pursed her lips with a laugh, "Honey, I can totally guess what’s on your mind. You don’t like Senior Just and don’t want me spending time with him, right?"

Tong Airui narrowed his eyes at her. "So you’ve figured it out. Good!"

"You! That petty streak of yours needs treatment!" Yi Luowa teased, scratching his palm lightly. "Relax. Senior Just won’t be staying long. After he leaves, I’ll visit my second uncle and Auntie Ni Lu. Two or three days with each of them. I promise I’ll report back to you ahead of schedule."

"Not listening!" Tong Airui knitted his brow and turned his face away, gazing out the window.

"At least he helped me before, even saving Huo Li’s life... Never mind! I’m not bothering to argue with a stubborn bull like you anymore!" Yi Luowa grumbled, ready to leave.

Tong Airui grabbed her wrist in one swift motion. "While he’s here, you’re not allowed to be alone with him!"

"I got it—" Yi Luowa dragged out her reply in a singsong tone, glaring at him disapprovingly. "You’ve taken the purest alumni relationship and warped it with your imagination!"

"Just because you’re pure doesn’t mean he is. Back when he left, he told me to take good care of you. I was so touched. Now, I’ve finally figured it out. At that time, he was busy reorganizing two major gangs—no time and too much danger. Now, the two gangs have been sorted out, he’s got time to reclaim his Prince seat and has started setting his sights on you again."

"With your twisted logic, it’s a shame you’re not writing novels!" Yi Luowa snorted. "Stop overthinking things! He’s a Prince. Why would he care about a married woman like me? To you, I’m a treasure. To him, I’m probably just a weed!"

Tong Airui’s eyes widened immediately. "Who dares to think you’re a weed? I’d take them down!"

"Then start by getting rid of your own petty streak!" Yi Luowa rolled her eyes and pointed downward at his waistline. "Let’s get rid of this!"

"Are you planning not to sleep tonight?" Tong Airui squinted his eyes dangerously.

Yi Luowa stifled a giggle. "With you souring the mood like this? How could I sleep at all?"

"Luowa, is Huo Li coming over?" Tong Yao, knowing her son’s temper, came over from the living room to prevent her daughter-in-law from being bullied.

"Mom, she said she’s coming," Yi Luowa replied, pulling Tong Airui along.

The living room was empty apart from Tong Yao.

"Mom, where’s my senior and the others?"

"Your father and Just went to the study. Joyina and your third brother took your grandparents to the garden."

Tong Airui’s mouth curled downward. "Rare for Joyina to show such filial piety."

"Joyina has always been good to your grandparents. Every time she buys treats, she gives them to your grandparents first thing after entering the house." Lowering her voice, Tong Yao glanced around and said, "Rui’er, don’t copy your dad’s behavior. Whenever a man visits, don’t give them a hard time. Men should be magnanimous!"

Yi Luowa burst into laughter.

Tong Airui furiously ruffled her hair again and said to his mother, "When have I ever?"

"You know the answer yourself!" Tong Yao shot him a glance. "Show some restraint. If you’re worried someone might steal your wife, then be better yourself and leave no chance for other men. Giving them a cold shoulder doesn’t help!"

Yi Luowa gave her mother-in-law a big thumbs-up. "Mom, you’re absolutely right!"

Tong Airui narrowed his eyes at her coldly. "It seems I’ll have to stir up some tension between you two. If you keep sticking together like this, what’s left for me?"

"Do you know our mom at all? She wouldn’t believe you even if you tried stirring things up!" Yi Luowa let go of Tong Airui’s hand and clung tightly to Tong Yao’s arm.

This girl wasn’t content with just holding onto Tong Yao; as soon as she grabbed her, she began rubbing around mischievously. "Honey, you should touch, too. Mom’s skin is great—so smooth!"

Tong Airui couldn’t hold back his laughter. "I don’t dare! If Dad saw, he’d be even sourer than me! Mom, you better watch out today. Dad knows you changed clothes without hiding from Luowa. He might come after you!"

Tong Yao snorted, "If he dares, I’ll wear a bikini to the beach tomorrow."

Yi Luowa giggled, "Mom, if you’re going to the beach, take me too..."

"Yi Luowa, you’re always stirring things up!" Tong Airui reached out, aiming to pinch his wife’s nose. She didn’t move, but his mother did.

Standing close to her mother-in-law, Yi Luowa didn’t even catch how Tong Yao did it. In the blink of an eye, she had twisted Tong Airui’s arm behind his back.

"Mom, gentle—ouch!" Tong Airui said with exaggerated theatrics.

"If you bully Luowa again, I’ll snap your fingers!"

"What’s going on here? Mom, you still got moves, huh? You’ve even taken down my older brother!" Tong Aino walked over, clearly excited to see the scene.

Tong Yao snorted proudly. "Don’t underestimate me just because I’m older. Handling the both of you is a breeze!"

Tong Aino rested his hands on his mother’s shoulders and smiled, "You’re great, Mom. But you know my brother’s just humoring you, don’t you?"

Tong Airui wriggled free from his mother’s grip and shot a sharp glare at Tong Aino. "Tong Aino, zip it. No one thinks you’re mute when you’re quiet!"

Tong Aino shrugged, "Fine, not saying another word!"

Connie laughed at their antics, "Tong Aino has zero emotional intelligence. Whenever he’s around, the mood is sure to be ruined!"

"Stop stirring the pot!" Tong Aino gave her a glare, then turned to Tong Airui. "Brother, I heard the Prince of Beidi is here. Where is he?"

"He’s with Dad in the study," Tong Airui replied irritably. "You know him."

"Oh? Who?"

"Just!" Tong Airui’s jealousy flared up again.

Tong Aino froze in place, "What? Just? Don’t tell me it’s that brat who has his eyes on my sister-in-law?"

Yi Luowa kicked him lightly. "When did Senior Just ever have his eyes on me?"

Tong Aino’s lips twitched. "Exactly! When did Just show any interest in my sister-in-law? I must have missed it. Sister-in-law, this was your husband’s claim. You should hit him!"

*Thud-thud* Tong Aino clutched his stomach and started wailing, "Mom, my brother and sister-in-law hit me!"

"Serves you right!" Tong Yao said with a laugh.

Connie covered her mouth, laughing, "You deserved it. Who told you to be so annoying?"

Yi Luowa called after him with a laugh, "Tong Fifth, you said you’re leaving home. The front door’s this way!"
