Chapter 313: Old Nun

Chapter 313: Old Nun

"How’s your injury?" Sharky asked Alina. For the past few days, he had been taking care of her wounds without pause.

"Almost better," Alina replied. At first, she hadn’t believed his treatment would work—but eventually, she had to admit it was helping.

She opened her mouth to say more, but stopped when Sharky’s expression suddenly shifted. His eyes grew sharp, scanning the shadows.

"Who’s there?" he demanded.

"What happened?" Alina asked, but then her expression change, from the shadow, a masked woman in white appeared.

Her black hair fluttered around; her skin was fair and her eyes were sharp. Even though there was a mask covering her face, anyone could tell that she was an incredible beauty. However, there was a hint of chilliness and arrogance in her expression, which would make it hard for anyone to feel any sense of intimacy.

"Huh?" The white-clad woman clearly hadn’t expected Sharky to notice her so quickly.

"So it was Sect Leader Charlotte. Suddenly appearing in our bedroom like this doesn’t really match your style," Alina remarked coldly. She was visibly displeased at someone intruding on their private time as husband and wife.

The white-clad woman was the sect master of the White Jade Sect and Isabelle’s master, Charlotte. She retracted her hand and said indifferently, "You misunderstand. I did not come to ambush. On the contrary, I came to thank you. It was because of you that I learned my junior brother had been killed, and it was through your hands that his death was avenged."

Alina’s face remained frosty. "And you came to express your thanks... like this? Entering another couple’s bedroom in the middle of the night?"

Charlotte ignored her irritation and continued, "Still, I wished to confirm it with my own eyes—how Christ died, and whether everything truly unfolded as I was told."

Sharky nodded. So she really had come for answers...

Alina replied indifferently, "I have already explained his death. With Sect Master Charlotte’s ability, I believe you have already been informed. Moreover, he is my husband’s brother, so why are you so much caring about that?"

Charlotte’s eyes flickered. "I do not doubt your words, but I wished to personally thank you both—and to see with my own eyes the man who avenged him."

Alina folded her arms, her tone sharp. "Then perhaps next time Sect Master Charlotte could choose a less... intimate moment. My husband and I do not welcome unexpected visits to our bedroom."

Sharky thought to himself, ’You’re facing a freaking grandmaster! Why are you picking a fight like this? Don’t tell me beauties are naturally incompatible? How the hell am I going to convince my harem in the future then...’

Charlotte’s gaze then fell onto Sharky. She asked, "Does she feel good in your arms?"

Only then did Sharky realize that because he had been looking at Charlotte the entire time, he had never let go of Alina due to his excessive shock.

Alina was in the same situation. Perhaps because they had already engaged in intimate contact before, she hadn’t instinctively reacted like before. With that reminder, she quickly moved away. There was a faint blush on her sparkling skin, but her eyes still burned with anger at Charlotte’s intrusion.

Charlotte’s gaze wandered between the two suspiciously. Though she had come to express gratitude, seeing their strange behavior, a faint suspicion still rose in her heart.

But Sharky once again drew Alina back into his embrace and said calmly, "She is my wife. Of course I will feel good when she’s in my arms. Why should you care about this?"

"Is that so? Then what about your relationship with Isabelle?" Charlotte asked, her eyes narrowing.

Sharky chuckled. "Sect Master Charlotte, shouldn’t you also approve of my relationship with Isabelle?"

"Mischievous and deceptive—you do not seem like a good person," Charlotte replied with a cold look. As someone from the righteous faction, she naturally disliked someone frivolous like Sharky.

Without another word, her aura suddenly surged. A powerful pressure pressed down on Sharky, not out of killing intent, but as if to test the limits of his strength.

Sharky immediately felt the pressure increase drastically. Thanks to his Master Rank, he wasn’t at a disadvantage.

But compared to a grandmaster, he was still at an absolute disadvantage.

He was alarmed. Why did this woman always act so ruthlessly? It even seemed as if she wanted him dead!

Charlotte was completely different, however. Perhaps because of Sharky’s sudden increase in cultivation, she didn’t hold back at all. Her strikes came with the cold authority of a grandmaster.

Sharky was forced to use everything he had, and only then could he barely hold on. But he knew that he wouldn’t last long if things continued like this.

Alina quickly summoned the World Painting when she saw that. She knew it wouldn’t be able to stop a grandmaster, so she didn’t try to capture Charlotte. Instead, she only used it to provide Sharky with support.

At the same time, her brush quickly moved through the air. Sharky immediately felt the pressure around him decrease greatly. It was as if at that moment, he had been given several buffs.

Charlotte’s beautiful brows furrowed when she saw that. Her expression darkened, and her attacks grew fiercer.

Even though Alina looked gentle and soft on the outside and carried herself gracefully, she was actually a cold person deep down. She normally wouldn’t treat another person with such care. And yet, the worry and anxiety in her eyes at that moment were definitely genuine.

Alina harrumphed. "Sect Master Charlotte, why are you attacking my husband without reason?"

Charlotte snorted, clearly not caring for Alina’s anger, and continued pressing her assault.

With Alina’s help, Sharky gained some breathing room. He took the chance to say, "Sect Master Charlotte, why are you attacking me?"

He was truly confused. Without any reason, this woman had suddenly lashed out at him. Deep inside, he silently swore an oath: When I become a grandmaster, I’ll personally teach this Sect Master a lesson.

Although she was Isabelle’s master, that didn’t change his resolve. His gaze lingered on her figure, and he muttered under his breath, "She’s also pretty good looking... what a waste for her to stay an old virgin. If I ever get the chance, I’ll make her taste my love tonic."

Charlotte’s expression immediately turned colder. She hadn’t caught his exact words, but from the way his eyes lingered on her, she felt an inexplicable disgust.

"Hmph, it seems you need to be beaten down a few times," she said icily. Afterward, her attacks grew even more vicious.

Yet inwardly, she was unsettled. In theory, a grandmaster should have an overwhelming advantage against cultivators of lower levels. And yet, this fellow was far too strange. His strength was well above others at his stage, and his endless bag of tricks gave her a constant headache.

Still, that was as far as it went. The vast gap between them was like the difference between heaven and earth.

Charlotte swung her sleeves outward. Alina groaned, the World Painting dropping from the air as she lost control over it. The buffs she had provided Sharky disappeared as well.

Alina knew Charlotte was being lenient. Otherwise, even if she hadn’t died, she would still have been seriously injured by the attack. The other party still felt some reservations toward her status as the Yu clan’s master; that was her way of warning her not to get involved any further.

She tried to raise her brush, but her entire body suddenly went limp. Only then did she notice that her acupoints had already been sealed. She was horrified. Charlotte’s casual attack had simultaneously restrained her. Such an insane level of cultivation made her feel more and more worried about Sharky’s safety.

Without Alina’s support, Sharky immediately felt the pressure around him increase tremendously. He struggled to fend Charlotte off while shouting, "Your disciple’s going to end up a widow if we keep fighting! Do you really want her to blame you for the rest of her life?"

Charlotte’s expression didn’t even flicker. She replied coldly, "Hmph, if you die, that will be for the best. That way, Isabelle’s will can no longer be swayed. Even if she blames me at first, once she comprehends the true essence behind the oneness of heaven and humanity, she will understand it was her master’s consideration."

Sharky was speechless. This woman really does want me dead!

Realizing she had no intention of showing mercy, he no longer held back. He fired a round of curses straight at her. "Hmph, old nun, you might think you’re pretty good looking, but you can’t compare to Alina! You couldn’t stand that she got a good husband like me. Since you don’t have anyone to push you down in bed and fill you with love tonic, you’ve gone bitter and jealous! That’s why you’re attacking me with so much anger, right? If you can’t get what you want, you won’t let others have it either!"

At first, Sharky had been cautious because she was Isabelle’s master. He hadn’t dared to use his more dangerous methods. But since Charlotte really seemed intent on killing him, he couldn’t afford any more restraint. The gap in strength was still enormous—if he wanted even the slightest chance at a comeback, he had to first enrage her enough to make a mistake.

"Old nun?" Charlotte’s breathing quickened when she heard that form of address.

The White Jade Palace was a sect of the Daoist school. Furthermore, though she looked young and beautiful, she was the master of an entire sect, a senior who had been famous in the martial world for many years. As such, the title wasn’t completely inappropriate.

But she was a woman in the end. How could she not care about such a thing?

Because of her status and exceptional appearance, she was treated with respect wherever she went. Some even referred to her as a goddess. Though she would politely tell them there was no need for such words, she couldn’t deny the secret satisfaction she felt inside.

And now—this young brat had cursed her as an "old nun" and even accused her of being jealous of Alina! It was utterly preposterous.

Alina’s expression turned strange. She thought to herself, Sharky really is daring! He actually dares to provoke a grandmaster this way! A hint of worry appeared in her eyes. Won’t he be in even more danger now?

Sure enough, Charlotte’s speed increased. On several occasions, Sharky failed to dodge completely and was struck, soon finding himself covered in wounds. Fortunately, his body was unusually tough, allowing him to remain standing despite the punishment.

But instead of despair, Sharky’s lips curled into a grin. Good. She’s getting angry. Rage could sharpen one’s strength—but too much of it could make even a grandmaster slip up.

He decided to fan the flames further.

"I get it now!" Sharky shouted as he dodged another strike. "This old nun’s throwing a tantrum because of her period—or maybe it’s just menopause! That’s why you’re jealous that Alina and your disciple both found such a good husband, while you’re stuck as an old spinster! No wonder your heart and mind are all twisted right now!"

Charlotte’s face turned ice-cold.

But Sharky wasn’t finished. He laughed wildly, shouting, "You want your disciple to suffer the same misery as you! You can’t stand the thought of her being happier than you, can you? If you’re jealous, just admit it! I’ll even do you a favor for Isabelle’s sake. I’ll let you experience what it’s like to have a real man beside you. When my spear pierces you, I’ll make sure you’re drenched in so much love juice you won’t be able to stand up from bed for days! Why kill over jealousy when you can taste happiness instead?"

"Period? Menopause syndrome... Piercing me with his spear, filling me with love juices..." Charlotte almost fainted on the spot. Why is this little rascal so shameless and hateful?!
