Chapter 310: Meeting With Luke Vale

Sharky looked back at him and remarked, "The two of you are quite coordinated; that did not look like the first time." He continued, "Uncle Ming seems to know the Shadow Group’s assassination methods. Is he from the Shadow Group?"

What exactly was going on with that mysterious organization? Why did it keep showing up? What was the Shadow Group’s purpose anyway? Why did they keep appearing around him?

Just the clues he had been exposed to so far were enough to make him feel apprehensive.

Christ snapped out of his daze. He asked, "How did you kill him?"

Although he knew Duke Cedric was Master Level Cultivator, still, this was so much instant.

It was so much that he was not even able to respond to it.

Sharky didn’t answer the question, instead asked, "Who are you? Why did you kill my brother?"

But before he got the answer, he suddenly exclaimed, "Be careful!" He grabbed Alina’s waist and dropped to the ground as soon as he spoke.

Alina’s entire body went taut. She quickly took out her magic weapon ’World Painting’ to protect her.

Sure enough, a dark shadow appeared where the two of them had been. Someone holding a long, narrow sword slowly appeared from the shadows.

"A dark elf!" Sharky blurted out. He had encountered those natural-born assassins back in King Leon Manor. Their ability to move through shadows had left him with a deep impression.

"Shadow Group?" Alina exclaimed.

"Madam Alina’s knowledge is admirable, as expected," a voice called out with a laugh. "Many dark elves have been turned into assassins by the Shadow Group, but not all dark elves belong to the Shadow Group."

Sharky and Alina followed the source of the sound. Several people slowly emerged from the entrance.

The middle-aged man in the lead wore a feathered crest; his body was draped in a green cloak that glittered with multicolored light under the reflective ice walls. He was riding on a giant gray wolf.

The wolf’s killing intent and the sharpness of its fangs were obvious even from far away. It released a suppressed growl, and wisps of smoke emerged from its mouth.

"Gray Wolf King!" Sharky exclaimed.

He was no stranger to those beasts. He had fought against a pack of such wolves during the crown prince’s exam, so he had a deep impression of them. Even though the Gray Wolf King wasn’t small at all, it couldn’t compare to the ones he had met before. However, its aura was definitely more powerful than any Gray Wolf King he had met before.

"Luke Vale!" Alina exclaimed as she looked at the man on the Gray Wolf King’s back vigilantly. She secretly warned Sharky, "He is at the late stage of the master rank at the very least, but he has never used all of his strength. I believe no one knows how strong he really is. Also, you have to be careful not to look into his eyes. He excels in eye techniques."

"Eye techniques..." Sharky muttered, but he didn’t care about it.

The two of them had met before at the Merchant Group. Back then, when he had run into Luke Vale and Christ, the two master ranks, as well as a group of ninth ranked cultivators.

As the Gray Wolf King entered the cave, it revealed two of Luke Vale’s companions who had been hidden behind its massive body.

One was a charming young lady who was dressed in red wedding clothes. She was clearly quite pretty, and yet the sensation she gave off was strange. Luke Vale initially had a calm and refined expression, but when he heard this, his smile couldn’t help but freeze on his face.

He gave Sharky a look, then said in a profound and meaningful voice, "Sir Sharky is young and outstanding after all. As expected, as expected."

Sharky had a confused expression. Why did Luke Vale’s expression look so weird? Or was it his supposed eye technique?

"I am sorry for that, but since the Commander in Chief has requested me, I decided to participate." Luke Vale replied. He got off the Gray Wolf King and looked at Christ’s body.

A hint of surprise appeared in his eyes, but he didn’t think too much about it as he said, "I am not saying these things as an excuse. You still have time, Cloudcenter Duke. If you are unwilling to adapt to the times, and there were too many people who wanted you dead."

Sharky retorted coldly, "All of this was just because I wasn’t willing to become corrupt along with the rest of you? That is why you want to eliminate me. And I think, you also participated in killing my brother Christ, and replacing this imposter, who was willing to cooperate with the fiend races’ smuggling?"

Luke Vale gave him a look, saying, "You know quite a lot, but I didn’t participate in killing your brother, although I still hope you should co-operate with us. Just like your brother used to co-operate with us, after all he was the first one to work with us."

"Did you know about that parasite?" Luke Vale asked him.

"Why are you explaining all these things to him? Hurry up and get rid of him!" Before Sharky could replied, Christ exclaimed, dissatisfied.

"Oh, Parasite," Sharky said, then he looked towards Christ.

"So, you are a parasite, which I hate mostly," Before Christ could understand the meaning of his word.

A fire appeared in Sharky’s finger, and before Christ could say anything, it quickly surrounded him.

The parasites screamed miserably. At almost the same instant, smoke came out of every single one, and they were all lit ablaze. They were burned to dust in just a few breaths of time.

Before anyone could react, the parasite was destroyed.

Sharky was not a guy of many words, who thought, and talked before taking the action.

He has simple thoughts, if he wants to kill someone, so just kill.

Then he looked back at Luke.

"Now, coming back to your topic, how will you compensate for your attack towards me?"

Although Luke was a little shocked by seeing the scenario of Christ dying, he didn’t really care about it.

"My suggestion is still the same, we should start trading, like your brother used to do it," He said to him.

"My brother is my brother, I was not my brother, so why should I trade with you guys. Moreover, I think my brother also didn’t want to continue the trade with you." Sharky replied.

"Indeed. Your brother wanted to end the trade, after he made enough money over the years. After he obtained success and recognition, he wanted to wash his hands clean and cut things off." Luke Vale sneered and continued, "But how can something so convenient exist in this world? There could be no going back after heading down this path."

Before Sharky replied, Alina interrupted, "Yes, we just found out about this, after all, we are investigating this. But it was good that we found out the traitor was not Christ, but that parasite."

Luke Vale was stunned hearing the reasoning.
