Chapter 291: History Of Thousand Years Ago
Chapter 291: History Of Thousand Years Ago
Hearing it, Hela understood why her mother called her. And why she wants her to get married and bear a son.
It was the reason thousands of years ago.
When Hildr was the leader of Valkyries, she was known for her unmatched strength and leadership. She guides the Valkyries in their duty of selecting fallen warriors for Valhalla. Though powerful and respected, Hildr had a strong, independent spirit, making her hesitant to rely on anyone, even Odin.
Because of this, Odin admired her. He had seen her lead the Valkyries with grace and authority, and over time, a deep respect for her blossomed into his heart.
And Odin most of the time meets with her, giving suggestions for the Valkyrie Army. Hildr accepted his suggestion,
And since both of them participated in battle together, they forged a deeper connection between them.
After the battle, Odin sought Hildr out to express his gratitude. The two spent more time together, discussing matters of war, strategy, and the future of Asgard.
Odin admired Hildr’s intellect, and Hildr came to appreciate Odin’s wisdom and depth. Over time, their conversations shifted from mere strategy to more personal subjects.
Odin was drawn to Hildr’s independence and strength, qualities he found rare and admirable.
He was a god who had experienced love and loss, but Hildr intrigued him in ways no other had. And soon, they fell in love with each other.
And through their love, Hildr gave birth to Sif, their daughter.
Frigga, seeing that Odin didn’t spend most of his time in his chamber, started getting suspicious.
She knows his lustful nature, so she starts to search who he is targeting now.
She sensed that something was different about the way he and Hildr interacted.
One evening, Frigga saw Hildr and Odin together in the royal garden, speaking in hushed tones.
The way Odin’s eyes softened as he looked at Hildr, and the way she leaned toward him, her expression full of trust and affection, left no doubt in Frigga’s mind.
Frigga’s heart sank with the realization that her husband had been carrying on a secret relationship with Hildr.
Still, she didn’t confront Odin, but Hildr has not escaped from her confrontation.
"You have hidden this from me for a long time, Hildr. I understand the bond between you and Odin, but do not forget your place in this family. You have crossed boundaries that are not easily undone."
Hildr, though filled with regret and guilt, knew she could not deny the truth. She bowed her head, understanding the queen’s pain, and apologized for the secrecy.
As the tension between Frigga and Hildr grew, Hildr knew that her bond with Odin could never fully be accepted by the queen of Asgard.
Everything was going as usual, but then once again Nine Realms had fallen into chaos.
It was because of the return of Ymir, the primordial frost giant. Ymir, once slain by Odin and his brothers, had returned, revived by dark magic.
This time, he was even more powerful, and he brought with him an army of frost giants, intent on reclaiming what they had lost.
Knowing that this battle affected many lives, Hildr called Odin to meet in the Royal Garden.
"For what reason, you called me here," Odin asked, since he was going to make a battle plan against Ymir.
Hildr brings Sif, who is still a baby, and places the infant in Odin’s arms. She knew it was a painful decision, but knowing that her future was not secure with her.
She has made this decision. She has decided that her daughter, Sif, should not grow up in the shadows. And would be raised as Ofin’s daughter in the royal palace.
Her eyes filled with both love and sorrow. "Take her, Odin. Protect her. Anything can happen in battle with Ymir, so I don’t want her to get in any conflict, or get harmed."
Odin, deeply moved by Hildr’s decision, promised to protect Sif and raise her with the care she deserved.
But as they stood in silence, they both didn’t know that Frigga had seen it from a distance. She knew of Hildr’s actions and the true parentage of Sif.
But she chose to remain silent for the moment.
As Ymir’s forces descended upon Asgard, the gods gathered to prepare for war. Odin took command of the Asgardian forces.
Hildr led the Valkyries to join the fight alongside them.
The battle against Ymir and his forces was one of the most brutal and destructive in Asgard’s history.
The sky darkened, and the ground shook under the fury of the giants and the gods.
The four of them led the charge, striking down countless frost giants and battling Ymir in a fierce, destructive duel.
But despite their combined strength, Ymir’s power was overwhelming.
Then Frigga made a plan to achieve two hits with a single stone. She called Hildr, and proposed that she sacrifice her against the Ymir to weaken him.
As a result, first Hildr will get out of Odin’s life. And second, the Asgardian will win this battle.
Hildr nodded with Frigga, though her heart was heavy, she accepted her fate. "For Asgard, for Sif," she whispered.
She charged at Ymir, her sword glowing brighter than ever. She unleashed a flurry of attacks, each strike carving into Ymir’s icy form.
Summoning all her power, Hildr channeled the energy of the Valkyries into one devastating attack. Her blade pierced Ymir’s chest, shattering the giant’s icy heart.
But the Ymir’s heart once again started gathering, Vili and Vé also attacked with their full powers.
The blow shattered his icy form, but in his death throes, Ymir unleashed one final surge of destructive energy, which consumed Hildr, Vili and Vé.
As she fell, Hildr’s last thoughts were of Odin and Sif. She had secured their victory, but at the cost of her life.
Their sacrifice ensured that Asgard would survive, but it also marked the end of an era for the Valkyries leader.
Their deaths were heroic and essential to the final victory, and their souls were forever honored in the halls of Valhalla.
Asgard mourned the loss of Hildr, Vili, and Vé, the three who had given everything to protect the realm. Odin, though victorious, felt the weight of their sacrifices.
Frigga, though grieving the loss of Hildr and her brothers-in-arms, quietly honored their sacrifices.
She knew that it happened because of her involvement, or Hildr didn’t need to die.
Because of this guilt, she accepted Sif as her daughter, and promised to give her all love.
Hela knew all of this.
Although Frigga has accepted the Sif as her daughter. But she can’t see that Sif’s daughter will become the next heir to the Throne of Asgard.
If it was a son, then she has accepted it, but a daughter becomes the ruler. It was impossible for her to accept it.
After Hela understood everything, she knew that she needed to get married and birth a son for her mother.
"Ok, mother, who is my husband," Hela asked, finally deciding to get married.
"If it is someone else, then your father will not accept the child as the next heir, since you know your relationship with your father."
Frigga explained.
Hela nodded, she knew that the relationship between her and her father was not so good, because of Odin stopping her from taking revenge for her brothers.
"So, I have decided that you get married to Sharky. He will be the perfect husband for you, he is strong and handsome. And most importantly, your father also likes Sharky."
"He even proposed to me, why not, I fixed your wedding with Sharky. So, if you give birth to a son with Sharky, your father will definitely accept him as the next heir of Asgard."
"Sharky?" Hela, hearing this, became a little hesitant, after all, Sharky was already the husband of Sif.
And moreover her mother also didn’t like to share her husband. So, how she decided to choose Sharky for her.
But, then thinking about everything, she realized that only Sharky was best for her, for becoming her son to the next heir of Asgard.
"Ok, mom," Hela accepted the decision.
"Good, tomorrow, I will propose my idea with your father and Sharky," Frigga became happy, knowing that her daughter accepted her decision.
---
The Grand Hall of Asgard underwent a transformation. Long tables stretched in a perfect line. Fruits and delectable dishes were present on the table. While on both sides, Asgardians were seated.
A crimson carpet, woven with intricate patterns, leads a path toward the throne where Odin Allfather sits. He dons majestic robes, with symbols of ancient power intricately embroidered.
Beside him, a stage was erected. On this stage stood Sharky and Hela, the focal point of the upcoming ceremony.
Beside Hela, Frigga stood, in her celestial gown.
To her right, the Sif, dressed in princess attire, stands there.
While on the Sharky’s side, Loki, and other Asgardians stood.
Odin stood from his throne and arrived in the midst of the crowd. He looked towards Sharky, and asked. His voice resonated through the hall.
"Do you accept Hela Odindaughter as your wife till eternity?"
"Yes, I do," Sharky’s response echoed.
Odin then turned towards Hela, his gaze unwavering.
"Do you accept Sharky Valor as your husband till eternity?"
A subtle blush graced Hela’s cheeks, and her hair turned purple.
"Yes, I do."
She took the sacred oath, and with a kiss, the union was sealed.
The audience erupted into applause and cheers, acknowledging the union of them.
As the applause subsided, everyone started enjoying the feast.
The Asgardians, elated by the union of Sharky and Hela, indulged in the sumptuous offerings.
While the party was still busy in celebration, everyone was eating and drinking.
Sharky picked up Hela, "What are you doing?" Hela asked, while blushing.
"Which I need to do," Sharky replied, and he went to the room, which was decorated for them. It was a room, with a king size bed.
