Chapter 286: Aether’s Powers
Chapter 286: Aether’s Powers
Meanwhile, Phobos from outside, smirked seeing Skarn was getting fused with Aether. He muttered to himself.
"So... the fool has taken it. He’s more arrogant than I thought. Let him play with the Aether—for now. He doesn’t realize he’s doing my work for me."
Phobos looked towards others while grinning, "Fear will grip them all soon enough. And when Skarn stumbles, as he inevitably will, I’ll be there to take what’s left."
---
Skarn felt the surge of energy from the Aether, he couldn’t help but laugh maniacally.
"Sharky, thanks for granting me the power of the Aether, but now it’s time to destroy Asgard. Watch as I tear your precious realm apart! Asgard will fall, and the Nine Realms will follow!"
He unleashes the Aether’s Wrath.
Crimson beams of energy erupted from his hands and axe, streaking toward Asgard in a blinding cascade. The beams carved through the air like serpents, twisting and snaking, seeking to annihilate everything in their path.
Buildings trembled as the destructive force surged, threatening to tear Asgard apart.
Panic gripped the inhabitants as the destructive energy threatened their realm.
Sharky stepped forward, using the powers of Cosmic Nexus. His eyes glowed with an otherworldly brilliance.
"Not today, Skarn."
With a mere thought of Sharky activated the full a radiant shield of cosmic energy materialized, expanding outward and enveloping Asgard in a protective dome.
The shield shimmered with iridescent colors, its surface rippling like a living entity as it deflected the Aether’s assault.
The crimson beams collided with the shield, their destructive force dissipated into nothingness. The tendrils of energy recoil as if struck by an invisible force, unable to penetrate the barrier created by Sharky.
Skarn’s expression twisted into one of frustration and fury as he saw his attacks thwarted. He raised his axe high, channeling the Aether’s chaotic energy into it.
"You cannot stop me! I am the god of conquest, and this realm will bow to me!"
Skarn roared, using his axe, he struck towards the shield. The wave struck the shield with immense force, but it was not even able to create a little gap in the shield. And its whole power was dissipated.
Seeing that the Skarn attack on Asgard failed, Asgardians sighed with relief.
"So even after gaining the power of Aether, Skarn was nothing in front of dad," Ethan said in a shocking tone, while looking towards Sharky with awe.
Hearing it, Maria looked towards Ethan with disdain, and chided him "Why is it so shocking, dad was always the strongest."
Hearing their banter, Sif and Jane also sighed with relief. Following them, Frigga, Odin, Thomas, Loki and others also became relieved, the tension moment, which was a second ago, vanished.
Skarn, seeing their relieved look, became angry.
---
Meanwhile, Phobos, who was seeing all of this, also became angry.
"This damned fool isn’t even able to use Aether powers properly."
But then, he calmed down, "It shows, Aether is only suitable for me. Only I can unleash its true power."
---
Skarn, realizing his attempts were futile, created the Shadow Portal.
"My Shadowforge burned Asgard in ashes."
From Shadow Portal, Stone Giants, Shadow Wolves and many Wraithborn started appearing.
Seeing that, Asgardians again became tense.
Then they started bringing chaos to Asgard, and one by one they started destroying everything.
Asgard started breaking apart, Asgardians shouted with fear and pain. Seeing, they and their loved ones died.
Even Loki and Thomas were shocked that they couldn’t do anything. All of sudden this happened.
But before they participate in the battle.
"Vanished," Just with Sharky, single sentence the Shadowforge turned into ashes and erased from existence. And Asgard was returned back, just as it was before.
"What is this?" Loki was shocked by seeing that. He and Three Warriors battle with their whole powers, but they were still not able to defeat the Shadowforge armies, till now. And Asgard was nearly destroyed.
But with Sharky, just one word ’Vanished’ they all destroyed. And Asgard was now the same as before.
For a second, even Phobos became so shocked that he didn’t know how this happened. But, then realizing the truth, he calmed down.
---
"There is no need to be shocked, these all are only an illusion, the Shadowforge Army, Asgard destroying, this was only an illusion of Aether. Aether has the power to manipulate the realities, but it does not have powers to change the reality."
With Odin’s explanation, everyone understood that it was only an illusion, nothing more than that.
Seeing that his moves countered effortlessly, frustration grew inside the Skarn. He shouted with anger.
"You dare defy me?! I am the god of conquest! This realm will burn, and its ashes will be my throne!"
Desperation consumed him. He raised his reforged axe high into the air, its edges glowing molten red with the Aether’s energy. The surrounding air distorted, and a swirling vortex of crimson chaos began to form above him, growing larger with each passing second.
The vortex roared with the sound of countless worlds tearing apart, its tendrils reaching outward, threatening to engulf all of Asgard in its destructive embrace. Buildings trembled violently, and the golden spires of the city cracked under the strain.
"Let the cosmos witness my wrath! I will tear this realm apart and leave nothing but ruins!"
As the vortex spiraled out of control, Sharky stood calmly amidst the chaos. His glowing eyes narrowed, charged with the power of the Cosmic Nexus.
"Skarn, when you will understand, that your actions are futile against me."
With a slight movement of his hand, the air around Sharky began to shimmer. And a radiant aura of light and shadow surrounded the vortex.
Thomas, Odin, and the others watched in awe, their disbelief palpable seeing Sharky’s powers.
Odin murmured quietly.
"This... this is beyond even the Aether."
Skarn, seeing Sharky’s move, poured more energy into the vortex, the swirling chaos expanding until it threatened to consume everything in sight, and he mocked.
"You think you can stop me? You are nothing compared to the power I wield!"
But instead of replying to him, Sharky waved his hand, and then the Vortex started changing direction.
"What... what are you doing?!"
Skarn asked in a shocked tone, he didn’t know what was happening to his vortex, why are they changing their route.
Sharky looked back towards him, and said in nonchalant tone, "Giving you exactly what you wanted."
With a final gesture, Sharky hurled the vortex away from Asgard. It streaked across the sky like a crimson comet, vanishing into the void.
Moments later, the vortex reappeared—on Skarn’s home planet, Veldrath. The swirling chaos descended upon the desolate world, its tendrils ripping into the surface like claws. Mountains crumbled, seas boiled away, and the very core of the planet began to collapse under the Aether’s wrath.
No one knows where the Vortex disappeared, but Heimdall and Phobos know about it.
Heimdall can see the distant star system where Veldrath had once stood. The light of the planet’s destruction was so bright that it briefly outshone the surrounding stars.
Phobos seeing it, can’t help but murmur in shock.
"By the gods... he destroyed it. Skarn’s own planet... gone."
"Sharky’s power is far greater than I imagined. Even gods have limits..."
But except for them, Skarn also feels that his own planet was gone, since he was bound by the dimensional energy of his own Planet.
Skarn staggered, his once-mighty form flickering. The destruction of his planet had severed his connection to the power that had once been his foundation.
"No... this cannot be! My world, my army—!"
He fell to his knees, his glowing armor dimming. The god of conquest, for the first time, appeared broken.
"You wanted destruction, Skarn. I simply gave you a taste of your own medicine."
Sharky replied calmly, but this was far from the over, he wanted to give Skarn a brutal pain, before death.
As the glow of Veldrath’s destruction faded from the sky, Skarn knelt, trembling.
The realization of his losses—a world annihilated, his army eradicated, and millennia of preparation undone—sent a wave of rage coursing through his veins.
The Aether within him pulsed violently, responding to his fury.
"My world... my army... EVERYTHING! You will all pay for this!"
Skarn shouted in anger, the ground beneath him cracked and splintered as an ominous red energy began to seep from his body. The light slithered through the air like a living serpent, twisting and writhing with malevolent intent. Its sinister glow cast eerie shadows across the ruined chamber.
The crimson tendrils snaked toward the nearest Asgardian defenders. At first, they flinched, attempting to resist, but as the red light touched them, their movements faltered.
The energy wrapped around the Asgardians like spectral chains, their eyes glowing faintly red as their bodies stiffened. The defiant warriors who moments ago stood resolute now moved in eerie unison, their weapons turning against their allies.
He laughed darkly.
"You thought you could stop me? Your people will be the instruments of your destruction. Witness the fall of Asgard by its own hands!"
From his position, Skarn extended his arms, channeling the Aether’s chaotic energy. The tendrils expanded, spreading like a web through the streets of Asgard. Asgardians, unable to avoid the creeping glow, fell under his control.
Amidst the chaos, Sharky stood unyielding, his daughter Astrid safely in his arms. He was calmly looking at the action of Skarn.
Thomas, seeing this, shouted in panic, "Sharky, we must stop him! He’s turning Asgard against itself!"
Loki was also panicked, "He’s using the Aether to corrupt them. We can’t fight an army that grows with every touch!"
But Sharky did not show any reaction to them.
Skarn seeing this, his confidence bolstered by his growing army, sneered at Sharky.
"Do you see now? Your defiance is futile. Asgard is mine, and soon, the Nine Realms will follow!"
Sharky looked towards Skarn. He is not a little bit tense.
He looked towards the crimson tendrils, which covered the whole Asgard.
He waved his hand, and said in a calm tone, "Not allowed."
And soon his single word echoed through the chamber.
The vibrations of Sharky’s voice rippled outward, disrupting the crimson tendrils in their tracks. The Asgardians under Skarn’s control froze momentarily, their glowing eyes flickering.
Skarn’s grin faltered, his confidence shaken.
"What... what are you doing?!"
Sharky took another step forward.
"You will not take them. Your control ends here."
With a motion of his hand, a radiant wave of shimmering light surged outward, colliding with Skarn’s crimson energy. And it started destroying the crimson tendrils.
