Chapter 284: Invasion In Asgard, Ethan’s First Fight

Chapter 284: Invasion In Asgard, Ethan’s First Fight

Sharky and Thomas were ready to tour over Asgard.

But their sightseeing stopped, when an alarm was announced.

Several stealth aircraft appeared in the sky, one after another.

"How did Asgard not capture them," Heimdall was confused.

He only managed to destroy one of them, but the rest eluded him.

Asgard’s anti-air unit was deployed to combat the invaders, but they proved to be highly agile, easily outmaneuvering Asgard’s defenses. The enemy even destroyed all of Asgard’s anti-air turrets.

Heimdall, realizing the enemy had breached Asgard’s defenses, activated the palace’s energy shield, believing it would protect the royal family.

To everyone’s shock, the shield was shattered, the first time it had ever failed to work. This meant that the enemy had infiltrated the palace, as the shield could only be destroyed if the energy core inside the palace was damaged.

These attackers were the army of Shadowforge. After passing the Heimdall, they arrived in the Asgardian atmosphere.

---

"Someone is attacking our Kingdom in reality?" Thomas was shocked to see that the invasion appeared in Asgard.

They even attacked, when Odin was still awake. Not fallen in Odinsleep.

"Thomas, I think we first need to secure Jane," Sharky explained. He didn’t know who was attacking, but he guessed their aim must be Aether. Since it was a powerful artifact.

"Yes, you are right," Thomas nodded, and he also guessed the plan of the attackers.

But while they were going towards the Asgardian palace, they encountered invaders attacking the palace guards.

A tall and lean guy was leading this invaders force. He wore black armour, which had spikes coming out, while his face looked like a monster, there was one horn, and four fang-like teeth.

With his twin blades, he easily shattered the magical shields of Asgardian, and with his next attack, he beheaded them.

"How dare he kill Asgardian soldiers," Thomas shouted, and started spinning his Mjölnir to get into action.

But Sharky stopped him, "Let’s Ethan handle them, I also want to see how much he has grown."

"Ok," Thomas nodded, since he has since Sharky’s powers, he thought maybe Ethan was also so strong.

Vakros, looking at his army as it was going forward, shouted, "Take the mortal woman alive! The Aether must not be harmed!"

The elite Shadow Wolves surged forward, after clearing the guards. They leap toward the palace doors, but before they could strike, the Shadow Wolves froze, and then started breaking one by one.

They don’t even have time to go into the shadows. And moreover, who were even in shadow form, and a shadowy cloud was created around them.

Even the shadowy cloud was frozen.

"Whoever you are? If you dare to bring your filth in Asgard, you will be broken," Ethan shouted after looking at Vakros standing there.

Hearing that even he doesn’t know his name, Vakros became angry, and shouted while attacking with his twin blades.

"Always remembered my name, I am Vakros, leader of Shadowforge Army."

Ethan created an ice wall in front of him, but it was destroyed by the twin blade of Vakros.

"See, you still need training. If these weaklings can break through your ice shield, you have much to learn. Remember, you’re my son, and you need to be as tough as me."

Sharky said looking that the ice shield is broken.

Hearing that, Sharky was calling him weakling, Vakros sneered, stepping forward calmly, his blades glowing ominously.

"Oh, so you are so proud of yourself, then why not fight me, while your son will be busy with my army."

Vakros created the shadow portal, and from there, more Shadow Wolves and Wraithborn appeared.

"No need, my son can easily handle you," Sharky replied.

And true to his word, the Shadow Wolves only served as an ant in front of Ethan, they were quickly frozen and died.

But Wraithborn were not like that, they were not frozen, because they have no physical form, but they are souls.

They simply bypassed the freezing attack, and appeared in front of Ethan.

Meanwhile hearing the talk between Sharky, Ethan and Vakros. Thomas was a bit amazed but he was also concerned about the attack on Asgard. Instead of swiftly defeating the invaders, Sharky was taking the time to teach his son.

---

On the main side of the battlefield Loki, Volstagg, Hogun, and Fandral with the Asgardian army were also engaged in battles against the Stone Giants, Shadow Wolves and Wraithborn.

And Odin was destroying the stealth craft, who had invaded Asgard.

But except for a few, most of the Asgardian started believing that they would lose the battle. Their Asgard will be destroyed today.

No one can save them from this precarious situation.

Fear started appearing inside them, and their morale started going down.

Wraithborn just waited for a single mistake from Asgardian soldiers, and then they beheaded them.

While some others Wraithborn appeared there, and quickly collected their souls.

---

Thomas starts swinging his Mjölnir to defeat the Vakros seeing that Ethan is in pain.

But Sharky again stopped him.

"There is no need, it was Ethan’s fight, and he needs to solve it by himself."

"Sharky, he is your son, he can’t do it alone," Thomas tried to explain to him.

"No, he can, afterall he is my son, son of Sharky Valor, if he can’t kill this weakling, then I will be very disappointed with him," Sharky replied.

Hearing this conversation, Vakros starts becoming happy that he can easily kill Ethan, and then these two.

Ethan also feels that he can’t disappoint his dad.

And then he looked towards Vakros. His hands also regenerated back.

"Vakros, today only death awaits you."

Ethan fiery aura flickering with determination as he locked eyes with Vakros.

Vakros stood with his twin crimson blades glowing ominously. His shadowy cape flowed unnaturally. And his cold and mocking voice came.

"Look at you, boy. Trying so hard to impress your father. But you’ll die here, and he’ll forget you as a failure."

Ethan clenched his fists, his flames surging around him, counterbalanced by the icy mist emanating from his other hand. His diamond armor shimmered faintly in the light of the fires burning around them.

Ethan shouted in anger, hearing that he called him failure.

"You don’t know anything about me. You’ll regret stepping foot in Asgard!"

Vakros chuckled darkly, twirling his blades.

"Come then, boy. Show me your worth—before I carve it out of you."

Vakros moved first, dashing forward with blinding speed. His twin blades struck like serpents, aiming for Ethan’s chest. Ethan barely reacted in time, igniting his flames to form a fiery barrier.

The clash sent sparks flying as Vakros’ blades cut through the fire and grazed Ethan’s armor.

Ethan countered with a burst of ice, freezing the ground beneath Vakros’ feet. The lieutenant stumbled momentarily but retaliated by summoning shadow tendrils that lashed out at Ethan.

One tendril struck Ethan’s shoulder, sending him tumbling backward.

Vakros pressed his advantage, charging with a flurry of slashes. Ethan dodged with his super speed, each step leaving a trail of scorched and frozen earth.

"I can’t let him overwhelm me. Think, focus—what would Dad do?"

Ethan unleashed his powers in a spectacular combination: flames erupted from his left hand while icy spikes shot from his right, creating a chaotic storm of fire and frost.

Vakros sneered and summoned a swirling shield of shadows, deflecting the attacks with ease.

He again mocked Ethan.

"Is that all you’ve got? Your tricks are nothing but a child’s tantrum."

Ethan growled, switching tactics. Using his plant manipulation, he summoned thick vines from the shattered ground, wrapping them around Vakros’ legs and arms. For a moment, the shadowy lieutenant struggled against the binding force.

Ethan smirked looking at Vakros, "Got you now!"

But Vakros smirked and slashed through the vines with his blades, breaking free effortlessly.

"Foolish boy. Your father would weep to see how weak you are."

Enraged, Ethan charged forward, his diamond-covered fist glowing with fiery energy. He landed a powerful punch to Vakros’ chest, sending him skidding back.

Vakros, recovering quickly, lashed out with a savage strike of his blade. Ethan moved to block, but Vakros feinted, twisting mid-strike and cleaving through Ethan’s arm with his glowing sword.

Ethan cried out in pain as his severed arm fell to the ground, blood and ice mingling where the wound froze over. Vakros stood over him, laughing.

"Look at you now. Helpless. Just like I said you’d be. Your arm once again separated from your body. Just like your head is going to be."

Ethan, breathing heavily, clutched his wound, his fiery aura flickering weakly. He glanced toward his father, Sharky, who was calmly seeing the battle between him and Vakros.

"I won’t disappoint him. I won’t fail."

Ethan pushed himself to his feet, ignoring the pain. His remaining hand began to glow, shifting between fire, ice, and diamond.

"You talk too much."

Vakros lunged, his blades aimed for Ethan’s throat, but Ethan dodged with superhuman speed, reappearing behind him. Using his diamond-encased hand, Ethan grabbed Vakros’ head, slamming him into the ground.

Vakros struggled to stand up, but seeing Ethan’s next attack, he shouted, "No! You can’t—"

Ethan didn’t let him finish. With a roar, Ethan raised his hand which was turned into a sharped diamond, and beheaded the head of Vakros.

He then unleashed a surge of freezing energy, encasing Vakros’ entire body in a block of unbreakable ice.

And then with his fist, he struck Vakros’ frozen head, shattering it into countless pieces, followed by his body. The ice and shards of Vakros’ essence scattered in the palace, marking the lieutenant’s end.

Ethan stood over the remains of Vakros, his breathing heavy. His severed arm stopped bleeding, and started recovering.

Thomas and Sharky arrived, in front of him, and Sharky looked at Ethan with pride.

"You did well, son. You proved that you’re my son, and you didn’t disappoint me."

Thomas placed a hand on Ethan’s shoulder.

"You’re really good, kid."

Ethan nodded, his gaze hardening, and they continued their way towards Asgardian Palace.

---

While on the battlefield side, the golden streets of Asgard were littered with the remnants of the Shadowforge Army, their shattered form was the result of Odin’s unmatched power.

Loki and the Warriors Three fought valiantly on the outskirts, holding back waves of monstrous soldiers.

But while they were engaged in the confrontation with Shadowforge Army.

Skarn, the God of Conquest, slipped through the battlefield, evading even the sharp eyes of Heimdall. His broken axe, still radiating malevolent energy, rested in his grip.

And soon he arrived in the royal chambers of Asgard. And stood with his few soldiers in front of Frigga, the queen of Asgard; Sif with her child Astrid in her embrace, Jane and Maria.

Seeing the arrival of Skarn, the room fell silent as the women turned to face him. Sif drew her sword quickly.

Skarn’s glowing red eyes scanned the room, landing briefly on Astrid, who was still in Sif’s embrace.

"What a charming sight. The queen of Asgard, a warrior... all guarding a mortal, which I desire most."

Sif raised her blade.

"You’ll take nothing from here, Skarn. Not while I am still drawing breath."

Frigga stepped forward, and declared firmly, and she pulled Jane behind her. Although Jane was a mortal, she was someone Thomas loved, and Frigga was determined not to give her up.

"You dare enter these halls? You will regret this insolence, Skarn."

"Brave words, but this is not bravery—it’s folly. You’re defending the Aether, and a mortal who doesn’t belong here. You should know by now, Frigga: nothing escapes my grasp when I desire it."

Skarn took a step closer.
