Chapter 192: Soaring Cultivation World
Chapter 192: Soaring Cultivation World
Elsewhere on the battlefield, another blue-skinned figure joined the fight—Lira Hale, the shapeshifter. She shifted into Grak’s form and confused him with a mirror version of himself.
"She’s Lira," Elira told them. "She can become anyone. Her disguise is so perfect, even their voices and scent match."
With her help, Byron managed to knock Grak down, and together with Selan, they drove Karen to retreat, his wings flickering.
Inside the half-destroyed submarine, Marcus Vale broke through the central corridor by bending the metallic structure with sheer force.
He moved forward, entering the core chamber, where Cyras Dren stood.
Cyras smiled calmly. "I’m not here to destroy... I’m here to guide evolution," he said, voice soft and steady.
He gave a calm smile, his hands resting behind his back. "You’ve grown stronger, Marcus. I always knew you would," he said. "That’s why I came to Dravaris years ago. I saw the strength in you... the potential."
Marcus remained silent, his eyes fixed on him.
Cyras continued, voice smooth and persuasive. "You and I aren’t so different. We both believe in strength, in order. But unlike you, I don’t want peace built on weak agreements and slow change. I want a world where Etherbon lead. Not hide. Not follow. Lead."
He stepped forward slightly. "Why should the powerful serve the weak? We are gifted—chosen by Aetherion itself. The world should not govern us. We should govern it. That is the future I offer."
Marcus’s eyes narrowed, the quiet fury beneath his stillness beginning to stir.
"You talk about the future," Marcus said coldly. "But you never mention the past."
Cyras paused.
Marcus spoke again, slower this time. "You made a mistake."
Cyras raised an eyebrow. "What mistake?"
"You killed my wife."
The air grew still.
"That was... years ago," Cyras said. "An accident."
Marcus’s voice dropped into a low, steady tone. "I was working in the factory. You didn’t approach me—you went to her. You wanted Damon, my son. You saw his power with stone and thought you could take him. When she refused... you lost control."
Flashback – Years Ago
Cyras, wearing a cloak and the calm mask of a stranger, visited the Vale home in secret. Damon was outside, lifting stones with joy. His mother watched with pride.
Cyras spoke sweetly, praising the boy’s talent. But when she realized he had come to take Damon, to shape him into one of the Veilborn, she refused.
In the tension of that moment, Cyras moved to silence her—he never meant to kill her. But a wave of force struck too hard. She collapsed.
Back to Present
"I... regret that day," Cyras whispered.
"You should," Marcus replied.
He raised his hand. A small, silver coin floated in the air—gleaming between them.
"I’ve been carrying this coin for years," Marcus said. "It belonged to her."
Cyras’s face grew serious. His body tensed, ready to absorb any attack.
Marcus stepped closer. "You played a game with my son that night. Now I’ll play it with you."
The coin floated forward, slow and steady. Cyras’s eyes widened as he tried to absorb it—tried to call on his power.
But the coin kept moving.
"You can’t stop it," Marcus said softly. "Not this time."
The coin passed through Cyras’s head—clean, precise, and deadly.
Cyras Dren fell to the floor, blood trailing from his forehead. His reign ended in silence.
Moments later, Marcus walked out of the submarine. In his arms, he carried Cyras’s lifeless body. He stood before the gathered Etherbon, eyes burning with quiet fury.
"Stop fighting, my brothers!" Marcus Vale’s voice echoed across the battlefield, carried on a wave of magnetic energy. "Etherbon should not be fighting each other. We are the next step—we were never meant to serve humans. We were meant to rule them."
The clash of powers slowed. Flames dimmed. Winds stilled. The Etherbon paused, caught between belief and duty.
"Tell me if I’m wrong, Alaric," Marcus called out as Alaric Wynn stepped from a glowing craft above—Velmora’s sleek Etherbon airship.
"Yes, you are wrong, Marcus," Alaric answered calmly, descending beside him. "We are the Principals of the Etherbon Schools. We are their mentors, their guardians—not their kings. Our powers are not meant to dominate, but to protect."
Marcus shook his head, eyes burning with fury. "That’s your philosophy, not mine." He turned to the other Etherbon around them. "You speak of peace with the humans—those frail, powerless people who fear what they don’t understand? They are not our equals... they are our chains."
Then, he raised both hands.
The air buzzed with energy as Marcus twisted his fingers—and two sets of missiles, one launched by Velmora, the other by Dravaris, veered in the air and turned.
"If these humans are so precious," Marcus sneered, "then watch what happens when you trust them."
He sent Velmora’s missiles hurtling toward Dravaris’s navy fleet—and at the same time, redirected Dravaris’s counter-missiles toward Velmora’s command ships.
"Nooo!" Alaric shouted. "Marcus, don’t! There are thousands of soldiers on those ships!"
"They chose their side," Marcus replied coldly.
Alaric reached out with his mind, attempting to halt the missiles with psychic force, but they were already too far.
Meanwhile, from the edge of the battlefield, Sharky stood still, his glowing blue eyes filled with rising anger.
"I cannot stand by and watch innocent lives die like this," he said, voice low but firm.
Turning to Sophia, he gave a single command.
"Take me to the fleet. Now."
Without a word, Sophia’s hands glowed, and in a blink, Sharky vanished—teleporting directly onto one of the navy vessels, appearing amidst the shocked navy personnel.
Before anyone could react, Sharky took a deep breath—then unleashed it using his Gasman form. A thick cloud of glowing gas erupted from his mouth, shooting into the sky and spreading rapidly across the airspace where the missiles were flying.
Within seconds, the entire sky was covered in swirling, sparkling mist. As the gas touched the incoming missiles—they vanished. Disintegrated. Gone without a trace.
From the ships, stunned officers and crew stared upward in silence, watching the miracle unfold.
The navy general stepped forward, eyes wide, and gave a deep salute. "Thank you for saving our lives."
Sharky gave a slight nod.
With a touch from Sophia, the two vanished once more, teleporting away and leaving behind a moment of quiet awe.
---
Back on the beach, the gas still shimmered faintly in the sky, but all eyes had turned to Alaric Wynn and Marcus Vale once again.
Though most of the Etherbon were stunned by what they’d just witnessed, the tension had returned.
Marcus stepped forward. "Come with me, Alaric. We don’t have to be enemies. You’ve seen how the world is—why waste our gifts defending the weak, when we could build something stronger?"
Alaric shook his head gently. "Power without compassion is destruction. We don’t rule because we can. We lead by example, Marcus—not by fear. That’s the difference between you and me."
"Then you’re a fool," Marcus snapped.
"And you’re blind," Alaric replied, standing tall, his calm voice carrying weight.
With Marcus Vale and Alaric Wynn choosing different paths, the split between them became final.
Marcus returned to Malvara, now leading the Veilborn. Along with him went Karen the Flame Wielder, Grak the Red, and Vekta, forming a new circle of loyal Etherbon who believed in his vision of global control.
Meanwhile, Byron, Zaven Skye, and Selan Vale chose to stay beside Alaric, living quietly and continuing their mission to protect the peace of Aetherion.
---
On the other side of the world, Sharky, with Sophia, Rosie, and Elira, journeyed across Aetherion. They visited deep jungles, icy peaks, ancient ruins, and hidden towns—searching for supernatural secrets and signs of the planet’s hidden truth.
Together, they uncovered strange energies, rare Etherbon, and sleeping powers that even Aetherion itself had forgotten.
But after one long year, their journey came to an end.
Sharky stood with Elira, holding a device with a soft blue glow.
"Here. This is for you," he said gently. "A Regeneration and Teleportation device. If your life’s ever in danger, it’ll save you."
Elira looked at him with quiet surprise. "You’re giving this to me?"
"You’re family now, Elira. This is just a little extra protection."
---
Later that day, Sharky stretched his arms and cracked his knuckles. "Alright, babes... I’m going to play the simulation game again. So just wait here and relax. I’ll be back soon."
Sophia and Rosie smiled and nodded. Elira leaned back on a couch, a quiet smirk on her lips.
Sharky stepped into the simulation chamber, ready for another round. Simulation Chamber was created by the Ultivalortrix.
