Chapter 264

Chapter 264

Changgui was momentarily at a loss for words; saying the food he liked was awful while he was eating so happily would surely be inappropriate.

Seeing Changgui’s inability to respond, the man raised his eyebrows: "Judging by your attire, your family background is probably so-so. The chefs at the Huo Family dining hall were poached from the most famous Drunken Immortal Pavilion in the Capital City. Could it be that you’re just a country bumpkin who can’t appreciate fine dining?"

Changgui was a bit speechless. He had seen the Drunken Immortal Pavilion before, and just the exterior of the restaurant looked incredibly luxurious. He often wondered how delicious the food inside must be...

Now he just felt like a blurry dream had shattered.

"Hmph, can’t say anything?" The man rolled his eyes, unable to hold back after seeing Changgui’s stunned look.

If you can’t appreciate good food, don’t randomly grab dishes! It’s because every time too many people go for the braised pork that the serving lady ends up shaking her hand!

This time, he managed to eat four pieces of pork, and the rest was all potatoes!

Changgui really couldn’t stomach this food. He glanced around and quietly took out a mooncake from his Storage Bag.

The Storage Bag was a temporary purchase by the Sect Leader, the smallest possible kind. The Sect Leader said there was really no spare Spirit Stones to buy a larger one right now. This Storage Bag was already almost full just with the box of mooncakes, and such bags have no restrictions. If lost, anyone can open them with some Spiritual Power.

He sneaked out a custard mooncake, took a bite, and a small stream of custard filling oozed out, but its consistency was thick enough not to spill everywhere, revealing just a bit — an incredibly tempting form.

With the first bite, a full milky aroma filled his mouth, perfectly balanced with salty egg yolk grains, complemented by a soft yet firm pastry, fragrant without being greasy, sweet without being overwhelming, making one savor with just a single bite.

Eating it, Changgui squinted his eyes in particular comfort, unable to stop his little feet from swinging.

The Sect Leader’s creations really are the tastiest!

The person next to him had just finished all of his food, and as he glanced over at Changgui’s plate, noticing it was almost untouched, with three pieces of braised pork left, he suddenly felt an itch, wanting to ask Changgui if he wasn’t eating anymore, so he could help finish it.

Yet as he turned around, he saw Changgui holding a half-piece of an extremely enticing pastry, looking completely satisfied as he chewed, with a trace of golden custard on the corner of his mouth.

"What are you eating?" The saliva dripping from that man’s mouth brought him close.

This made Changgui jump; he quickly stuffed the remaining half-piece into his mouth, chewing carefully while shaking his head at the guy next to him.

"I’m not blind! What kind of pastry is that? Why have I never seen it?" The man persisted, even sniffing at Changgui’s fingers.

Changgui felt a terrifying sensation creeping up his spine; he pulled his hand back as if electrocuted, ready to dash away.

The brother across from Changgui certainly noticed this scene and clicked his tongue: "Brother, this guy’s the fourth young master of the Huo Family. You can run, but he’ll find you!"

Fourth young master Huo Huan acknowledged with a nod: "He’s right, I mean it when I say eat!"

After speaking, he seemed to feel it wasn’t imposing enough, adding: "I’m the direct descendant, mind you, as direct as it gets with the head honcho’s eldest son, Huo Lian!"

Changgui wasn’t really scared of any fourth young master, but hearing that last part made him hesitate.
