Chapter 93 : No One Understands Poetry Better Than Me
Chapter 93 : No One Understands Poetry Better Than Me
"Bei! Yao! Yue!"
Roaring, Xifeng angrily pushed open Bei Yaoyue's bedroom door and snatched the drawing tablet from that person who was still concentrating on her draft.
"What's wrong?" Responding coolly, Bei Yaoyue placed the stylus on the desk and quickly pressed Ctrl+S to save the draft, preventing the furious Xifeng from doing anything destructive to it.
"Where's my gacha ticket!?" Asking with a ferocious expression, Xifeng was so agitated her face turned red.
Bei Yaoyue raised an eyebrow and asked back: "What gacha ticket?"
"Stop pretending!" Seeing Bei Yaoyue's innocent expression, Xifeng could no longer maintain her composure and cursed: "I don't believe it wasn't you who used it!"
Besides Bei Yaoyue, who else could access her system!?
But she couldn't produce any evidence, leaving Xifeng with anger but nowhere to vent it—quite miserable indeed.
"What are you talking about? What gacha ticket?" Bei Yaoyue tilted her head, playing dumb to the end.
She was confident Xifeng had no evidence and thus no way to force her to admit it.
"You're still pretending!!!" Stamping her feet continuously, Xifeng was so angry even her hair seemed ready to stand up.
Actually, if Bei Yaoyue had drawn some useless item, she wouldn't really care, but the biggest problem now was that this item had definitely been used directly by Bei Yaoyue!
And! She! Had! No! Idea!
Xifeng had some idea what kind of items this broken system could produce. Just thinking that Bei Yaoyue had secretly used it without her knowing what effects it might have made Xifeng shudder.
"It's getting late, you're so tired, go rest quickly." Saying this, Bei Yaoyue suddenly raised her hand toward Xifeng's head, who was roughly the same height as her sitting position. "You still have exams tomorrow."
Xifeng originally wanted to dodge that obviously ill-intentioned hand, but when her gaze swept over the dozen or so scabbed wounds still on Bei Yaoyue's arm, her mind became somewhat dazed.
Memory returned to the moment when Bei Yaoyue unhesitatingly self-harmed to save her, and waves of heartache and distress immediately enveloped her heart.
She was careless and didn't dodge, allowing that demonic hand to touch her head.
"Good girl, be obedient." Saying this, Bei Yaoyue gently caressed the top of Xifeng's head like smoothing a cat's fur.
"~~~~~"
A soothing warmth spread from the top of her head, and Xifeng enjoyably closed her eyes. What was this situation? It felt so... so good!
It was like tired muscles being massaged by a master masseur with perfect pressure, waves of comfort making Xifeng unconsciously nuzzle against that hand.
At this moment, Xifeng looked exactly like a kitten that had been petted comfortably by its owner and was now actively seeking more affection.
Watching Xifeng's thoroughly enjoying expression, Bei Yaoyue clicked her tongue repeatedly. This item's effect was much stronger than she'd imagined—she'd have to be more careful in the future.
Although Bei Yaoyue was happy to let Xifeng sink deeper, that degree was already sufficient. She didn't want Xifeng to become a mindless pleasure-seeking tool.
Such a Xifeng would have no soul—she didn't want that.
After about ten seconds, Xifeng suddenly awakened from Bei Yaoyue's seemingly magical head-patting.
She suddenly froze, then quickly withdrew her body as if electrocuted, her cheeks visibly turning extremely red at lightning speed, even more exaggerated than red-hot molten iron.
"I I I I I—I didn't think you you you—your petting felt good!" Speaking incoherently, the panic in Xifeng's eyes nearly drowned her consciousness.
Not good... she had unknowingly become addicted to Bei Yaoyue's caresses...
What made Xifeng even more terrified was... that feeling... was super addictive!
Something was wrong, definitely wrong!
Bei Yaoyue originally wanted to tease Xifeng with a few more words, but seeing Xifeng before her, embarrassed like a pufferfish inflated to maximum size, as if she'd explode with the slightest poke, she ultimately closed her mouth.
Even desperate dogs will jump over walls—if she really made Xifeng too angry, who knows what might happen.
Xifeng, face flushed as if bloodied and eyes bright with contained light, glared at Bei Yaoyue, no longer in the mood to ask about the gacha ticket. She turned and fled in defeat.
So embarrassing—she'd actually been petted into that state.
She felt like she had no face to see Bei Yaoyue again.

Moon set, sun rose, a new day began.
Even though countless students prayed for this day not to come, the monthly exam that was meant to arrive would always arrive.
Scrambled, scattered, and reorganized—this was the most commonly used and crudest method schools employed to prevent student cheating.
Looking around, Xifeng couldn't find a single person she recognized. There were a few familiar faces who might be her classmates, but she couldn't even call their names.
Completely abandoning the idea of finding someone to chat with, Xifeng could only boredly lie on her desk in a daze, waiting for the teacher to distribute test papers.
"Let me emphasize exam room discipline one more time." The proctor was a middle-aged woman wearing glasses who looked very fierce. She slapped the desk. "If any of you cheat and I catch you..."
"Hah..." Xifeng yawned boredly. More of the same old stuff she was tired of hearing. Why did teachers always like to tirelessly repeat things students had heard countless times?
After spacing out for a while, the exam began.
The first subject was Chinese, starting with Xifeng's most troublesome subject.
"Poetry memorization?"
Seeing that familiar question type, Xifeng couldn't help but curse internally. How had she forgotten that Chinese exams included poetry memorization? She'd completely forgotten to review this before the exam.
Fortunately, she'd memorized these things quite thoroughly back then. Relying on memory, she should be able to write about seventy to eighty percent correctly, right?
"First question is... 'I urge you to drink one more cup of wine, ___________'"
Xifeng scratched her head, feeling the next line was on the tip of her tongue, but she couldn't remember it no matter what.
Drinking wine... drinking wine...
Got it!
Xifeng had a flash of inspiration and wrote "Let us together dissolve ten thousand ages of sorrow" in the next line's position.
"I urge you to drink one more cup of wine, let us together dissolve ten thousand ages of sorrow."
Xifeng recited it once and couldn't help but sigh—perfect!
The meaning connected perfectly and it rhymed too. This had to be the right line.
"__________, behind warm hibiscus curtains spending the spring night."
After pondering for a moment, Xifeng filled in "The emperor and general remove their battle robes" on the blank line.
"The emperor and general remove their battle robes, behind warm hibiscus curtains spending the spring night"... seemed a bit off? But also seemed fine?
"Whatever, let's go with this."
Xifeng shook her head and looked at the third line.
"Startled awake while dying of illness, __________."
"Hah, this one's easy."
Laughing with a sigh, Xifeng confidently wrote a household-famous line of poetry in the answer space.
