Because of My Stupidity, I Became a Timid Vampire

Chapter 7 : Your Master Has Been Credited, Please Confirm Receipt

"So you're saying you agree to become my maid?" Bei Yaoyue looked down at Xifeng, who was nearly a head shorter than herself.

"Yes... I agree..." Xifeng answered weakly in an extremely small voice.

A deep sense of powerlessness spread throughout her body, making her want to just collapse on the ground in a dejected forward bend.

Seeing Xifeng's thoroughly depressed expression that looked like she might cry at any moment, Bei Yaoyue raised an eyebrow: "You seem very reluctant?"

Xifeng was startled, then raised her head and forced out an extremely ugly smile: "No, I'm very willing. It's my honor to become your maid!"

"Remember, you voluntarily became my maid. I didn't force you at all."

"Yes, it was all voluntary..." Xifeng wanted to cry but had no tears.

How did Mr. Lu Xun put it?

"Wanting to be a whore while building a memorial arch"—clearly Bei Yaoyue was threatening her with her vampire identity to make her agree, yet she still acted like "this has nothing to do with me, it's completely your choice."

This was really too much! Completely heartless!

Dissatisfied in her heart, Xifeng secretly labeled Bei Yaoyue as a "bastard."

"Call me Master."

"Mas... wait!" Almost reflexively about to call out that shameful title, Xifeng came to her senses and immediately blushed: "That title is a bit too shameful, can I not say it?"

"Sure." Very readily agreeing, Bei Yaoyue took out her phone from her pocket, scrolling while murmuring: "Hmm... 1-1-0..."

Scared nearly out of her wits by Bei Yaoyue's actions, Xifeng hurriedly called out: "Master! Master!"

Dignity and such could go to hell—in the face of survival, dignity wasn't worth mentioning.

"Too quiet, can't hear you." Bei Yaoyue apparently had no intention of letting this poor little vampire off easy.

"Master!!!" Xifeng felt like she was about to cry.

"Good." Bei Yaoyue nodded with satisfaction. "I'll give you one hour to pack your daily necessities. You'll move to my place tonight. Don't bother bringing bedding—I have some there."

"Um..." After hesitating, Xifeng carefully asked in a small voice: "Could I not move over? Look, we live so close, it only takes me one minute to get from my place to yours..."

Suddenly moving to someone else's house was still hard to accept. Although Bei Yaoyue was a beautiful girl, and cohabiting with a beautiful girl sounded pretty nice, she was used to living alone and it still wouldn't be as comfortable as living alone in her own home.

"No." Bei Yaoyue was decisive, giving Xifeng no room for negotiation. "Within one hour, I want to see you packed and at my place, or face the consequences."

After speaking, she turned and left directly without looking back.

"How unreasonable..." Xifeng muttered quietly with puffed cheeks.

Bei Yaoyue's steps paused, then she turned her head toward Xifeng and asked with a slightly cold expression: "What did you just say?"

"No-nothing..." Xifeng's little heart jumped violently. Was this person part rabbit?! How could she hear such quiet muttering?

"You just said you want to wear a maid outfit, right?"

"I didn't, I didn't, don't make things up!"

Xifeng was shocked. This ability to lie with eyes wide open was too strong—how thick-skinned did you have to be!

"Hmm?" Bei Yaoyue shot her a look full of warning.

Under this dignified glare, Xifeng's spirit instantly deflated. She said weakly and tearfully: "Right, I want to wear a maid outfit..."

Bei Yaoyue, please be human...

"Granted." Bei Yaoyue nodded. "Tomorrow I'll go buy you two maid outfits as your work uniforms. I'll pay—consider it a benefit."

"Thank you, Master..."

This was definitely the most insincere thing she'd ever said in her life.

"Anything else to ask?"

"No more..." Shaking her head frantically, Xifeng now wished for this disaster of a person to disappear from her sight immediately.

This person seemed to naturally counter her. In front of Bei Yaoyue, she was completely at her mercy with no ability to fight back.

As soon as Bei Yaoyue left, Xifeng collapsed on the sofa like a puddle of mud, staring at the ceiling with vacant eyes like a living dead person.

In just ten minutes, her status had undergone earth-shaking changes. She had somehow gone from a JK with a bright future to Bei Yaoyue's little maid.

Actually, if Bei Yaoyue were a kind, friendly, gentle, and good-natured beautiful girl, she wouldn't find it so hard to accept. But the fact was that Bei Yaoyue definitely had problems and was nowhere near gentle and kind.

From how Bei Yaoyue had never said a word to her despite being neighbors for years, you could see this—it could completely be described as antisocial.

And from the time Bei Yaoyue entered until she left tonight, she hadn't seen Bei Yaoyue smile even once. She maintained a cold face throughout, as if the whole world owed her millions—a textbook-level case of facial paralysis.

Bei Yaoyue's personality problems seemed even bigger. Just from this brief contact, the negative traits she could sense included domineering, cold and arrogant, sharp-tongued, scheming... So many negative personality traits made Xifeng feel the road ahead was pitch black. Living with such a person couldn't possibly be happy, right?

Picking up her phone in despair, several unread app notifications in the message bar caught Xifeng's attention.

"From 'System': Master has been bound, system officially begins operation."

"From 'System': New task published, please confirm promptly."

"Holy shit!?" Xifeng was shocked. Master has been bound? What did you bind?! Don't fucking bind me to Bei Yaoyue!

Unlocking the screen, the "System" icon in the corner had a big red "2" badge, as if telling her "come click me."

With a chaotic heart, she opened the "System." Both the Affection and Tasks buttons had red dots indicating new activity.

At the very top of the system was a line that hadn't existed before:

"Master: Bei Yaoyue."

In that instant, only one phrase floated through Xifeng's mind—Never Mind the Scandal and Liber.

This sudden bad news nearly made her spit blood and die on the spot. This was probably what despair felt like.

Perhaps because of her one word "master," her brilliant system had actually bound Bei Yaoyue as the master. Should this level of intelligence be called artificial intelligence or artificial stupidity?

Suppressing the grief in her heart, Xifeng clicked the [Affection] button.

"[Affection]:

Affection Level: 18

Xifeng currently views Bei Yaoyue as a stranger."

At first glance, affection level seemed like useful data, but after seeing the sentence below, Xifeng felt like throwing her phone on the ground and stomping on it hard.

This wasn't Bei Yaoyue's affection for her, but her affection for Bei Yaoyue!

"Garbage system! What the hell use are you!" Angrily growling quietly, Xifeng directly closed the system and threw her phone aside.

Out of sight, out of mind.

After resting with her eyes closed for a few minutes, Xifeng's mood calmed down slightly. Then her phone vibrated again.

"From 'System': Less than five minutes remaining for task completion, please complete quickly."

Out of curiosity about this so-called [Task], she still couldn't resist opening the system again and clicking the [Tasks] button.

"[Tasks]:

Task Description: Newbie task. You are her master now, go try your first interaction with her! Head patting can effectively increase her affection for you and is the perfect choice for initial interaction.

Task Objective: Pat her head once: 0/1.

Time Limit: 4 minutes 42 seconds.

Task Reward: Epic Gacha Ticket ×1.

Failure Penalty: 36V electric shock for 10 seconds."

"Hah, this is easy." Xifeng chuckled with relief. After all, it was a newbie task, so it definitely wouldn't give very difficult objectives.

And there was one very convenient aspect—this system was in her own hands, so doing something to herself was much easier than doing something to someone else.

Epic Gacha Ticket sounded very impressive—she wondered what good things it could draw.

Full of anticipation for the reward, she extended her short, delicate little hand to the top of her head and gently rubbed it.

But the task didn't complete as she had imagined.

"Huh? Maybe the force isn't enough?"

Thinking this, Xifeng increased the force somewhat, but no matter how long she rubbed, even nearly turning her hair into a bird's nest, the task still showed no signs of completion. The remaining time was now only 3-plus minutes.

"No way..."

Combined with the affection level from before, a very possible but mood-crushing guess appeared in Xifeng's mind—perhaps this task could only be completed by Bei Yaoyue.

Because this was a system for training "Xifeng," and "Xifeng's" master wasn't her—it was Bei Yaoyue.
