Chapter 27 : I Thought of Something Happy
Chapter 27 : I Thought of Something Happy
Another Monday morning without motivation—a week of suffering begins with the evil Monday.
"Are you awake?"
Just as Xifeng sat up, Bei Yaoyue's voice came from outside the door.
"I'm awake." Xifeng replied listlessly, her just-awakened brain feeling groggy.
Being forcibly woken up by an alarm at seven o'clock didn't feel good at all. If today wasn't her first day of transferring schools and she couldn't skip class, she really wanted to dive back into the covers and continue sleeping.
"If you're awake, hurry up and get up. We need to be at school by eight."
"Yes yes yes, getting up now."
Yawning, Xifeng forced her weak body to crawl out of bed. Her bottom, which had been severely beaten yesterday, still ached faintly, and she couldn't help but reach back to gently rub it.
"Bastard, why did you hit so hard......" Xifeng muttered somewhat resentfully to herself. When it's not your own bottom, you don't know how much it hurts.
Just thinking about going to school made Xifeng's head ache too.
Actually, after becoming a corporate slave and experiencing society's harsh lessons, Xifeng understood that school days were the happiest time of one's life—of course, except for high school.
She actually quite wanted to return to her student days, but didn't want to return to high school at all.
She figured high school wasn't called going to school, it was called going to hell.
What was even more tragic was that she not only had to return to high school, but had to start reading from the first year again. This was simply a life restart gift package (hell version).
Fortunately, the high school she was re-attending was still Tianshui No. 1 High School, otherwise it would only be more painful than now.
Unlike the vast majority of high schools in the country that went from five in the morning to eleven at night with one day off per month, Tianshui No. 1 High School pursued not exam-oriented education, but quality education. Therefore, Tianshui No. 1 High School had many non-academic courses and extracurricular activities, and gave plenty of free time—classes started at eight in the morning, with a two-hour lunch break, school ended at six in the evening, and they attended five days a week. Rather than being called a high school, it was often more like a university.
Facts proved this approach didn't affect graduation rates. Even with such a relaxed management system, Tianshui No. 1 High School's graduation rate was still among the top in all of Crescent City—of course, part of the reason was that those who could get into Tianshui No. 1 High School were either academic achievers or had connections.
Thinking of this, Xifeng curled her lip with some disdain. She still didn't understand what the hell was the point of those five-one-seven high schools.
Those students who didn't want to study wouldn't study even if you forcibly kept them in the classroom—they'd daydream, read novels, play with phones, always finding something to do. And those who truly wanted to study didn't need the school to force them to study.
Making students stay in school and classrooms all day long, rather than saying this could improve academic performance, it was more accurate to say this could satisfy that bit of ridiculous peace of mind in the students' parents' hearts—my child is studying in the classroom.
"[Affection]:
Affection Level: 23
Xifeng now regards Bei Yaoyue as an ordinary friend."
"Ah this......"
Looking at the system data, Xifeng laughed dryly.
After one night's sleep, the previously plummeted affection level had actually recovered to the level before being spanked. Was she being a bit too heartless?
"System, don't give me weird random tasks while I'm at school."
Putting her phone in her pocket, Xifeng silently prayed in her heart.
If she got a task like making Bei Yaoyue hug her in public, she might as well jump directly from this seventeenth floor and die.
Walking out of the bedroom, the bright sunlight shining in through the living room window made Xifeng frown. Even without being directly hit by the sun, the living room brightened by sunlight still made her feel an indescribable disgust and discomfort.
She had never hated sunny days and the sun as much as she did now. The sun's position in her heart was even secretly approaching lower than chili peppers.
Bei Yaoyue glanced at Xifeng's expression and asked: "Are you afraid of the sun?"
"Yes." Xifeng nodded honestly, "Being directly hit by sunlight would be very painful."
That was no longer just very painful—she estimated that being directly sunbathed for a while would make her faint from pain.
Secretly noting another of Xifeng's weaknesses in her heart, Bei Yaoyue picked up an umbrella from beside the shoe cabinet: "Then take an umbrella."
"......Mm."
After hesitating, Xifeng reached out and took the umbrella. Although using an umbrella on a sunny day made her feel a bit awkward, it was better than being sunbathed to tears.
After preparing the textbooks needed for class, the two went downstairs to Good Morning Restaurant to have breakfast.
Feeling it would be weird to sit without eating and just spacing out, Xifeng symbolically ordered a bowl of soy milk.
Through previous experiments, she had confirmed that she could consume food like a normal person, just that she couldn't obtain energy from foods other than blood products.
"Morning, Bei Yaoyue."
Just as they sat down, an energetic voice entered their ears.
Xifeng looked toward the voice and saw a girl who appeared to be about the same age as Bei Yaoyue, with her hair tied in an ordinary ponytail that had an extremely high appearance rate among JK. Although her appearance wasn't outstanding, it could be called pleasing to the eye. The bright smile on her face was like warm sunshine in winter, leaving a deep impression.
Hearing this greeting, Bei Yaoyue's expression remained unchanged, only responding faintly: "Mm."
As if already used to it, the girl didn't mind Bei Yaoyue's rudeness. Her gaze swept over Xifeng beside her, and a puzzled light flashed in her eyes: "You are......?"
"She's my sister." As if afraid Xifeng would give some weird answer, Bei Yaoyue answered before Xifeng could speak.
"Sister?" The girl showed a surprised expression, "You have a sister? I've never heard you mention her."
"Mm." Bei Yaoyue answered very simply, sparing with words.
"Hello, my name is Bei Yaofeng, I'm Bei Yaoyue's sister."
Since she had already decided to change her name, Xifeng decided it would be better to use this name when dealing with outsiders, to avoid it being difficult to change after others got used to calling her something else.
"Hello." The girl looked at Xifeng with great curiosity, "My name is Su Weiai, you can call me Little Wei."
"Pfft!" Xifeng almost sprayed the soy milk in her mouth on the spot.
This name was way too red!
The moment she heard this name, endless steel torrents crushing over fortresses involuntarily appeared in her mind, accompanied by tsunami-like "Ura!" shouts.
Realizing her impropriety, Xifeng's face reddened and she quickly lowered her head saying: "Sorry, I......"
"It's okay, it's okay." Su Weiai waved her hand with a smile, looking completely unconcerned, "I won't disturb you two anymore. I've finished eating, so I'll leave first."
"Mm."
"Bye bye."
After Su Weiai left, Xifeng turned to Bei Yaoyue and asked: "Who is she?"
That Bei Yaoyue with this personality could have friends was something Xifeng never expected.
Just being willing to be friends with Bei Yaoyue made Xifeng mentally label Su Weiai as a "good person."
Bei Yaoyue thought for a moment and answered: "Su Weiai."
"......" Xifeng's expression froze. Was she really stupid or pretending to be stupid?
Of course she knew that person was Su Weiai, but what she wanted to ask obviously wasn't this.
But after thinking for a long time, she couldn't think of another way to phrase this question. After holding it in for a long time, she finally said: "I mean, what is she to you?"
"She's nothing to me."
"......"
It was like gathering strength for a long time, only to step on cotton—the feeling of having nowhere to exert force made Xifeng extremely uncomfortable.
"Pfft." Seeing Xifeng's expression that looked as ugly as sinking in gacha, Bei Yaoyue couldn't help but laugh.
How had she never discovered before that teasing this little one was so interesting?
Bei Yaoyue's mocking laughter made Xifeng's face even redder. She asked very unhappily: "What are you laughing at?"
"I thought of something happy."
"What happy thing?"
"Spanking someone's bottom yesterday."
"You!" Her face instantly flushed red, Xifeng became somewhat angry from embarrassment, "You dare mention that!"
Being spanked was simply the shame and stain of her entire life!
"Nothing I wouldn't dare mention." Bei Yaoyue lowered her head and took a bite of her bun, putting on a reminiscent expression, "Very soft, the feel was really good."
"Ahhhhh Bei Yaoyue I'll kill you!!!"
