Chapter 113 : Can You Perform That Again
Chapter 113 : Can You Perform That Again
Bai He hailed a passing taxi. After a bumpy ride, the car finally stopped at a hotel that practically had the word "luxury" written on its face—Crescent City Shangri-La Hotel.
Bai He got out with her bag. As she walked through the hotel entrance, a doorman at the entrance looked over her clothing and stepped forward to stop her: "Hello miss, may I ask who you're looking for?"
He could see that Bai He was wearing very cheap clothing, was young, and had come alone—clearly not someone here to dine. She might be trying to slip in and cause trouble.
Although his tone was very respectful, the doorman's extremely disdainful eyes seemed to loudly tell her: this isn't a place for you.
"Who I'm looking for is none of your business," Bai He's brow furrowed slightly. She didn't even stop walking, instead going directly around the doorman, giving him the middle finger as she passed.
The doorman's expression darkened with anger, but the customer was god—he didn't dare offend casually and could only swallow his anger and step back.
"Since when can guard dogs be so arrogant? Really using their master's power to bully others," Bai He muttered coldly to herself. She was never polite to such people.
She asked four or five service staff before finally finding the seat the other party had told her about.
Instead of rushing forward, Bai He stood at a distance and quietly observed the other person.
It was a middle-aged man who looked to be in his thirties, with short, tousled hair and a very clean-shaven face. He wore a high-end suit that was obviously expensive, and was unexpectedly somewhat handsome.
This client looked much more pleasant than the last one—a greasy, pot-bellied man in his forties. And being able to invite her to eat at such a place, he must be a wealthy middle-aged achiever.
Taking a deep breath, Bai He disguised a sweet smile over her cold expression, sat down beside the other person, and called out in a sickeningly sweet voice: "Brother Liu~~"
The middle-aged man called Brother Liu froze, turned his head to look at her, and immediately showed a flash of amazement in his eyes: "You must be Orange, right? Tsk, you look much cuter than in your photos."
As he spoke, Brother Liu's left hand silently caressed Bai He's thigh under her jeans, even giving it a light squeeze.
Bai He's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly, then she smiled and removed that hand, saying: "Don't be hasty, Brother Liu. Since we've come to such a place, shouldn't we eat first?"
Brother Liu didn't feel embarrassed at all, but laughed heartily: "Good, good, let's eat first."

"Come eat with me later."
Just as Xifeng was happily playing Red Dead Redemption 2, which she had just bought on sale at a discount, Bei Yaoyue's message intruded into her vision. To make sure she wouldn't miss it, Bei Yaoyue had even used window shaking.
The chat window that popped to the top caused Xifeng's protagonist to lose control, and both person and horse crashed head-first into a tree. With the appearance of "Your horse died" on screen, she was forced back to the previous save point.
"Not going." Xifeng, who nearly cursed out loud, directly chose to refuse. When replying to the message, she glanced at the time and realized it was already four o'clock—she had been holed up in her bedroom playing games all day.
Happy times always slip away quietly through one's fingers. She felt like she had only just started playing, yet the day was already coming to an end.
"You must go."
"Why should I?" Xifeng made a face at her phone screen. "Just because you tell me to go, I should go? Wouldn't that make me lose face?"
"Click."
The sound of the locked door being opened with a key made Xifeng's heart skip a beat. She watched helplessly as Bei Yaoyue opened her door and walked step by step toward her.
"Why do you have a key to my room?!" Xifeng swallowed. "Didn't you already give me the key last time?"
Bei Yaoyue seemed to feel that answering this question would insult her intelligence. She just rolled her eyes at Xifeng, then yanked her up from her seat.
"Wait, wait a minute, I haven't turned off my computer yet!" Xifeng struggled against the irresistible pulling force that was enormous to her. "At least let me save my progress!"
If she went AFK in the wilderness, who knew when a horse might run over and kick her to death.
"Make it quick." Bei Yaoyue let go.
Bei Yaoyue's heavy nasal tone made Xifeng pause. She turned and asked: "Do you have a cold?"
After brief consideration, Bei Yaoyue felt this couldn't be hidden, so she nodded: "Mm, a little."
Actually, it was already more than just "a little"—she had caught a severe cold.
Yesterday she had been soaked through by the torrential rain on that cold night, then spent several hours in thin, wet pajamas, and finally downed four or five bottles of beer. Under the ravages of alcohol, her body's immune system had drastically declined. With all these debuffs combined, it would actually be strange if she hadn't caught a cold.
"Why didn't you say so earlier?" Her brow furrowed as Xifeng immediately came over with concern. "Are you feeling bad? Can you breathe through your nose? Are you running a runny nose? Did you eat lunch? Did you take cold medicine? Why do you still want to go out to eat when you have a cold?"
"......" Bei Yaoyue was speechless. "Are you Blue Cat's Three Thousand Questions?"
Asking her so many questions at once—even if she wanted to answer, she wouldn't know where to start.
"Blue Cat's Three Thousand Questions?" Xifeng scratched her head. "What's that?"
"Nothing, let's go first. We'll talk on the way."
"But isn't it too early now?" Xifeng took out her phone, showed the system time, and held it in front of Bei Yaoyue. "It's only four o'clock."
"The restaurant is about ten kilometers from here. We'll walk there, and by the time we arrive it'll be about right."
"Walk ten kilometers?" Xifeng gave a dry laugh. "Are you sick?"
"Yes." Bei Yaoyue nodded seriously and sniffled. "I have a cold."
"......" Xifeng gave a thumbs up. Fine, you win.
"Think of it as window shopping." Bei Yaoyue looked at her. "Haven't we not gone shopping in a long time?"
"Sigh." Xifeng shook her head helplessly. "Since you put it that way, I'll be magnanimous and accompany you shopping."
Suddenly unable to suppress her laughter, Bei Yaoyue said somewhat teasingly: "Can you perform that again?"
"Perform what?" Xifeng looked at her in confusion.
"That... tsundere act."
Xifeng's face reddened as she stammered: "Wh-what tsundere? Who are you calling tsundere?"
"I didn't say you were tsundere. I just want to see you perform being tsundere." Bei Yaoyue's expression was serious as she said earnestly: "Just once would be fine. Is that okay?"
"Hmph↗, that's more like it." Tilting her head up, Xifeng laughed arrogantly a couple of times, then pretended: "Since you're begging me like this, I'll reluctantly perform for you. So, what kind of tsundere do you want to see?"
"Alright, let's go."
