Chapter 1841 - 1834: Meeting Qiu Zhengfeng

The Qiu Family’s villa is not too far from the Eight Great Passes Villa and is also a well-known villa community on Qin Island. Perhaps it was because Qiu Tianrui had given prior notice that when Lu Tianxing arrived at the villa district, he encountered no obstruction at all and was immediately allowed entry after he gave his name.

After parking the car, Lu Tianxing immediately opened the car door and stepped out, carrying a freshly bought bottle of wine.

At the entrance of the Qiu Family’s villa stood four burly men in black, each with a wireless earpiece, standing like four javelins. They were all Martial Artists, though only of the Earth-level Realm.

After all, the Qiu Family merely belonged to the gentry of Qin Island, not affluent enough to employ Heaven-level Martial Artists as guards.

Just as Lu Tianxing was about to walk up, the villa’s tightly shut gate was suddenly opened from within, and Qiu Tianrui hurriedly stepped out. Upon seeing Lu Tianxing, he immediately smiled and said, "Mr. Lu, you’re here, please come in."

Saying this, Qiu Tianrui made a gesture of invitation.

"Young Master Qiu, you’re too polite."

Lu Tianxing nodded and said nothing more, following Qiu Tianrui into the villa.

Even though he was accustomed to various villas, Lu Tianxing was still somewhat taken aback upon seeing the Qiu Family’s interior decorations.

Surrounded by pavilions and towers, the auspicious beasts carved on them appeared lifelike, giving one the impression they might soar into the sky at any moment. The entire courtyard of the Qiu Family exuded an extraordinarily dignified atmosphere, imparting a sense of elegance and grandeur.

Qiu Tianrui led Xu Tianchen directly to the Qiu Family’s backyard. Their pace was neither hurried nor slow, and along the way, Lu Tianxing admired the Qiu Family’s decor. Soon enough, they arrived at the backyard.

The backyard of the Qiu Family was arranged very tastefully, with small bridges and flowing water, and even a small lake. On the lake’s edge stood a small pavilion with stone tables and chairs, where Qiu Zhengfeng was seated, a pot of tea before him. He seemed not to notice their arrival, leisurely sipping tea and admiring the sparkling lake surface, leaving one unable to guess what he was truly thinking.

Although Qiu Zhengfeng’s hair was already white, one could still discern his once dashing features.

The rustling footsteps sounded in his ears, but Qiu Zhengfeng remained unresponsive, peacefully seated there.

Qiu Tianrui walked up to Qiu Zhengfeng and said respectfully, "Grandfather, Mr. Lu has arrived."

Upon hearing Qiu Tianrui’s words, Qiu Zhengfeng waved his hand lightly and said, "I know, you may leave now."

Qiu Tianrui nodded at Lu Tianxing, said nothing else, and left the scene directly.

Watching Qiu Tianrui leave, Lu Tianxing slowly walked forward and politely said, "Greetings, Elder Qiu."

Qiu Zhengfeng slowly looked at Lu Tianxing a few times and then said with a faint smile, "Indeed, youth produces heroes. Mr. Lu truly is a young hero, well deserving of his reputation."

"Elder Qiu, you’re too kind. I hardly qualify as a young hero, and you can just call me Tianxing," Lu Tianxing said with a light smile.

Observing Lu Tianxing before him, a look of appreciation appeared on Qiu Zhengfeng’s face. Despite his current status and position, Lu Tianxing remained poised and composed. Only those with such qualities could continue progressing, reaching heights unseen by ordinary people.

"Very well, since you insist, today I shall take advantage of my age and call you Tianxing."

"You are an elder, so it’s only appropriate for you to call me that."

Qiu Zhengfeng chuckled lightly and then pointed to a nearby stone stool, saying, "Have a seat."

Without much ceremony, Lu Tianxing walked over to the stone stool and sat down.

Once seated, Qiu Zhengfeng picked up a nearby new cup, poured Lu Tianxing a cup of tea, and said, "Tianxing, see how you find this tea."

"Uh!"

Hearing Qiu Zhengfeng’s words, Lu Tianxing scratched his nose and replied with a wry smile, "Elder Qiu, you might be giving me a challenge here. I don’t know much about tasting tea, and for me, drinking tea doesn’t quench my thirst like water does."

Listening to Lu Tianxing, Qiu Zhengfeng was briefly taken aback before bursting into laughter, "Well said! I think the same. Tea is something for cultured people to enjoy. If it weren’t for wanting to appear cultured in front of you, Tianxing, I wouldn’t bother with it either."

With that, Qiu Zhengfeng set the teacup down and said, "I heard from Tianrui that you seem to really like Lingling and intend to become her godfather?"

"Yes!"

Lu Tianxing nodded and said, "Lingling is an adorable little girl, a bundle of joy that always brings happiness to people. I somewhat presumptuously adopted Lingling as my daughter without giving you, Elder Qiu, prior notice. I hope you won’t mind."

"You’re too courteous."

Qiu Zhengfeng shook his head and said, "To be frank, I should be the one thanking you. Did you know? A few days ago, Lingling called me to say she found a dad, and she was so happy, laughing joyously. I’ve never seen Lingling so lively before."

"Lingling has had a tough life. Her father died in a car accident before she was even born. Ying Rong has also endured hardship, raising Lingling on her own as both a father and mother. I once hoped she’d remarry, and she did try, but without exception, Lingling didn’t approve, so Ying Rong gave up on the idea of remarrying altogether, focusing on raising Lingling instead. Frankly, you’re the only one Lingling accepted and calls ’dad.’..."

After hearing Qiu Zhengfeng’s words, a sudden realization struck Lu Tianxing. Could this old man be trying to play matchmaker today, offering Qiu Yingrong to him?

But then, what Qiu Zhengfeng said next eased Lu Tianxing’s tension.

"A few days ago, I heard from Tianrui that Lingling got into trouble, and it was you who saved her. You even rescued Ying Rong once, and for that, I am immensely grateful."

Saying this, Qiu Zhengfeng stood up from the stool, about to bow towards Lu Tianxing.

Witnessing this, Lu Tianxing hurriedly stood up from the stool, holding Qiu Zhengfeng by the arm, "Elder Qiu, you’re too kind. It was just a small gesture, nothing worth such politeness."

Hearing Lu Tianxing’s words, Qiu Zhengfeng laughed heartily, "Regardless, I must thank you. If you don’t mind, stay for lunch at the Qiu residence today and have a drink with this old man, how about it?"

"Elder Qiu, since you’ve put it that way, wouldn’t it be rude of me to refuse?" Lu Tianxing responded with a smile.
