Chapter 517: Chapter 517: Snatching

"What did you say, those kids actually scored full marks."

"Yes, all of them got full marks, and I heard they finished in just fifty minutes."

Although Teacher Zhao and Teacher Ding wouldn’t possibly spread the news, doing so would only make Zhao Xuran and the others popular.

Even if Teacher Zhao and the rest wouldn’t speak, they couldn’t stop other teachers from gossiping. Sure enough, before the end of the workday, Teacher Wu and the others already knew about Gong Ruini and their exam results.

Teacher Wu was stunned, "Aren’t they from Northeastern Rural?"

Just because they were from Northeastern Rural, even if they got into college, it couldn’t hide their background.

Teacher Cao was even more surprised, "You mean they scored such good results." She really regretted it, if she had known, she would’ve waited.

Sigh, how could someone that Zhuge Ming favored have poor grades? Sigh, what could Teacher Cao do, she couldn’t bring herself to go poach them from Teacher Ding.

Only Teacher Wu in the whole school could openly poach students, but that required a solid backing, otherwise which teacher in the school would allow their talents to be taken away, who wouldn’t want progress?

Seeing Teacher Wu’s stunned expression, Teacher Cao decided to follow Wu’s lead. She must be regretting too, if she dared to poach, why couldn’t she?

Teacher Wu was a little regretful, but not too much. Wasn’t it just perfect marks? Her class also had students with perfect scores.

Who knows if they would keep achieving good results, maybe it was just a one-time fluke. Teacher Wu packed her things and planned to leave, she didn’t want to stay for people to laugh at.

Even if someone conveyed messages to her, so what, were they purely being kind-hearted?

This wasn’t the first time she experienced something like this, wasn’t it because she hadn’t conducted herself well previously?

She was confident that if she took action, she could poach them, provided their mid-term and final exams this semester yielded good results.

"Teacher Wu, did you know they all live at Doctor Zhuge’s house?" It wasn’t like they hadn’t seen excellent students before, it was all about the numbers.

What surprised them was that these people had connections with Zhuge Zhi. Not to mention the relationship between Zhuge Zhi and Zhuge Ming, Zhuge Zhi’s reputation alone was noteworthy, and if anyone in the family had health issues in the future, this connection could be useful to have Doctor Zhuge check them out.

Doctor Zhuge’s home?! Impossible, Teacher Wu was dumbfounded, "Are you speaking of the famous Zhuge Zhi?"

There were relatives of Doctor Zhuge in the class, of course, also Zhuge Ming’s relatives, but they hadn’t heard that they lived at Doctor Zhuge’s house. Couldn’t believe those country bumpkins had such an opportunity, maybe she heard wrong.

Unlike Teacher Wu who was barely coping, Teacher Cao was shocked, it was her first time hearing this. Would she have done such a foolish thing if she knew the implications?

Getting two outstanding students also meant establishing connections with Zhuge Zhi and Principal Zhuge! But now, everything was messed up, even if it was unintentional, she followed Teacher Wu’s lead, but what if Principal Zhuge held grudges?

What to do, what to do, Teacher Cao was genuinely going crazy, rare she followed Teacher Wu’s madness and yet encountered such a situation, "Teacher Wu, what do you think?"

What do I know, what do I think? If I could, I wouldn’t have done something that foolish in the first place. Now, I’ve done something that’s such a huge loss.

She was sure many teachers today were secretly mocking them. You know they’ve even called four teachers earlier, two from key classes and two from regular classes—that’s clear enough.

Teacher Wu was confident that some things didn’t require her intervention. Principal Zhuge would proactively address this issue for them.

Teacher Wu didn’t know if Zhuge Ming would intervene, but shouldn’t she give it a try?

Teacher Wu understood that though Zhuge Ming hadn’t expressed any opinions, observing their interactions was enough to know their relationship was average. Should she risk being unwelcome or what? She really didn’t know what to do momentarily.

But things couldn’t stay unsolved like this; eventually, they would have to face it.

"Let’s go find the principal, since their scores are so good, they should enter the key class. How can they be in a regular class? Don’t they know this could waste talent?" Teacher Wu was bolstering herself while persuading Teacher Cao, worried Zhuge Ming’s stern face might intimidate her.

Teacher Cao was just listening, she followed Teacher Wu anyhow, she wouldn’t try to claim credit, as long as Teacher Wu poached them, she would participate too.

Teacher Zhao returned to the office with a stack of winter homework, hearing colleagues say Teacher Wu planned to get Zhao Xuran and the others from Gong Ruini.

"Let them try," Teacher Zhao definitely wasn’t worried; Teacher Wu’s actions today were too much without even investigating what they did. "I’m just following the superior’s guidance."

Humph, if you want to laugh at me, go ahead and wait. We’re by no means naive youngsters who’d react to some aged women’s provocations with tasteless actions.

Teacher Zhao’s nonchalance disappointed some who wanted drama, especially those hoping to stir issues between them and Teacher Wu, resolving two birds with one stone.

Zhuge Ming packed up, ready to leave. After encountering those two brilliant kids today, he wanted to find out more; if possible, nurturing them was his responsibility.

Though Zhuge Ming didn’t cause much chaos in school during prior reforms, he wasn’t unaffected entirely. Some kids really didn’t prioritize studies, and now with Zhao Xuran’s arrival, Zhuge Ming saw a spark of hope. Could Zhao Xuran share their rigorous life in the Northeast?

Thinking about what to say at Zhuge Zhi’s house, Zhuge Ming took a little too long, giving Teacher Wu and others a chance to stop him.

Damn it! Even though he was impatient, Zhuge Ming had to host them.

Seeing Zhuge Ming was about to leave, but stayed upon their arrival, gave Teacher Wu a boost of courage. She knew the principal wouldn’t hold a grudge over something small.

Watching Teacher Wu ease off, Zhuge Ming chuckled to himself. She really thought herself significant, little did she know not everyone wants in the key class.

"I get your point; they just don’t want to enter the key class," Zhuge Ming stayed, but didn’t want to entangle on this topic.

Their attitude before and now? No way Zhao Xuran and the others, being kids, could tow back and forth like that. They would naturally get upset.

Ah, really? Teacher Wu thought of countless arguments to persuade Zhuge Ming, never expecting such a blow. Did she hear right, who wouldn’t want to join a key class?

"They understand what the key class is, they said the students there are already familiar, so there’s no need for them to enter." Zhuge Ming shook his head consistently, given such a drastic change, even fools know the issue.
