Back to the 70s: My Childhood Sweetheart Spoils Me Rotten

Chapter 540: Shocked

Chapter 540: Shocked

Ah, the principal is looking for him? What’s the matter? Zhao Guangran was confused. If it weren’t for the principal’s smiling face, Zhao Guangran would be really frightened.

Could it be about yesterday’s incident? But that doesn’t make sense. Didn’t they say Principal Zhuge was very supportive of this?

Feeling anxious, Zhao Guangran glanced at Gong Ruini. He hoped Gong Ruini could accompany him to the principal’s office, but he was also worried about implicating Gong Ruini.

"Go on, it should be fine. It’s probably related to the exam papers in your hand." The commotion really wasn’t ordinary, "After all, the test papers are ours."

"That’s a must. The papers were prepared by my uncle, so why should we give them away for nothing?" Zhao Guangran wasn’t foolish. "Once these test papers are taken out, what benefits can we get?"

Zhao Guangran didn’t think the school would be generous enough to offer a satisfactory reward. What he was worried about was, "If we hand them in this time, will we have to keep handing them in in the future?"

"Ni Zi, we’re here to study by paying tuition fees, not to contribute materials." After just two days of being at school, Zhao Guangran was really getting fed up with this place; it’s full of drama and so many teachers and students are just troublemakers.

"Good to know." Not bad at all, quite a promising young girl. When it comes to money, Zhao Guangran is definitely sharp-minded.

Giving Zhao Guangran a fist bump of encouragement, after returning the gesture, he was about to walk away, but then he took a couple of steps and said, "Ni Zi, come with me."

Come with him for what? Gong Ruini indicated she hadn’t been called. Though she was really curious to see the drama, witnessing the teachers make fools of themselves might not be the best situation.

"Come on, in case someone bullies me, you can help." Zhao Guangran wanted to say she likes to watch the excitement, but he didn’t dare; otherwise, he’d offend Ni Zi.

After much coaxing, Gong Ruini finally gave Zhao Guangran a bit of face and said, "When you get there, don’t upset those teachers."

Gong Ruini was worried that Zhao Guangran might lose his temper, and then the scene would get out of control. "At a critical moment, I think the principal should be on our side."

Some teachers caused the commotion, which was truly not related to them. Not to mention, Zhuge Zhi also asked Zhuge Ming to take care of them.

"Hello, Principal."

"Hello, Teacher."

Originally, Gong Ruini had intended to just watch from the door, not needing to go in. But she couldn’t resist when Zhao Guangran insisted on pulling her inside, saying they were already at the door, so why not go in? Thus, she was persuaded by Zhao Guangran to enter.

But facing the surprised gazes of so many teachers, Gong Ruini really regretted it. Had she known it would turn out like this, she wouldn’t have let Zhao Guangran persuade her.

Zhuge Ming was a bit surprised to see Gong Ruini and remembered what his relative Zhuge Zhi had said, so he didn’t say anything.

"Why are you here?" Teacher Wu really didn’t understand why they had to call Zhao Guangran over. Isn’t he just a student? Any teacher could get the papers.

See, not only one came, but two. Do they think these people would eat Zhao Guangran alive?

Teacher Wu snorted coldly a few times. So what if his parents are attending university in Beijing? They’re still country bumpkins.

"Just me?" Zhao Guangran looked puzzled, "Maybe I should let Gong Ruini go back."

Now that they’re here, why send her back? Having two girls here is good; it prevents Teacher Wu from persuading them easily. This person has an unprincipled mind but is eloquent. What if Zhao Guangran is taken in by Teacher Wu?

Zhuge Ming waved his hand, "It’s fine, no need to go back. These test papers have a bit to do with her too."

Really biased. Teacher Wu wanted to refute, but though she moved her mouth, she stayed silent. The papers were in the hands of these two kids. If they were offended, she’d be the one at a disadvantage. Why act so foolishly?

"Today you gave the test papers to Teacher Zhao to look at." Zhuge Ming looked at Zhao Guangran.

Zhao Guangran patted his secret pocket, "Yes, Teacher Zhao agreed. I planned to tutor my classmates afterward."

Ah, Zhao Guangran really brought the papers back. The teachers present were stunned. Had they known the outcome, they wouldn’t have made such a fuss earlier. Each of them was now dumbfounded.

"Can I take a look?" Zhuge Ming remembered Zhuge Zhi mentioning it once and knew these kids mostly self-studied at home, relying on frequent assessments. But he knew more, like most of the test papers were prepared by Zhao Xuran.

Of course not. Zhao Guangran looked at the surrounding teachers, each excited as if they were hungry dogs seeing meat. He felt that the test papers would be dangerous if taken out.

"Problem?" Zhuge Ming was also shocked by these school teachers, knowing their earlier fuss was about the test papers held by Zhao Guangran. But they couldn’t have been that gluttonous-looking, could they? Didn’t they see how frightened Zhao Guangran was?

With that said, someone else might say "no problem" and hand the papers over respectfully. But who is Zhao Guangran? He’s a master of playing rogue, "Of course there’s a problem. I’m worried that if these test papers are taken out, they won’t be returned to me."

Though no names were mentioned, everyone understood the implication of those words. Zhuge Ming didn’t know how the teachers present felt, but he was thoroughly embarrassed.

"I assure you they’ll be returned." Zhuge Ming had no choice but to stand up and vouch.

If someone else had said this, Zhao Guangran might not have been willing to hand the papers over, but it was because Zhuge Ming said it that he, unwillingly, retrieved them from his coat’s secret pocket.

Seeing the difficulty with which the kid retrieved the test papers, the teachers present were continuously frowning. Just test papers, was there a need to keep them so securely? Who’s being guarded against?

After a moment of struggle, Zhao Guangran carefully pulled out the test papers, "Careful, careful."

Upon seeing Zhao Guangran bring out the papers, Teacher Wu immediately leaned forward to look. Before seeing them, she could still convince herself it was Teacher Zhao and others putting on a show to trick her.

But after examining the few papers, Teacher Wu truly couldn’t say a word, as all her previous thoughts were dismissed.

"Amazing, problems can be created this way." Even though these teachers have taught for so many years, just a few test papers really opened their eyes.

"Such problem-setting can connect many basic concepts." Each one discovered a whole new world. They really wanted to discuss this with whoever prepared the questions.

Zhuge Ming was also stunned. Knowing is one thing, but he hadn’t seen the papers. How talented must these kids be if given time to grow up? Zhuge Zhi is really lucky to have such smart students and an even more intelligent brother. Could a brother really be dull?

Those two kids down there must not be missed. Such promising seedlings could become successful students for the school in the future.
