Awakening: I Ascend As A Legendary Ranked Necromancer

Chapter 122: Kill all?

Chapter 122: Kill all?

I was silent. I looked at him blankly for a while, then suddenly nodded. "Is that what you think? I learned the business from the greatest since I can count. Do you think any sane businessman goes with one plan? Or five?"

"Still arrogant. I’ll break that from you with the time I have. Before that boy offers himself in replacement for you."

"But you intend to kill all of us, even me eventually. Of course, I cannot kill you, but I just might be able to hold you off before help comes."

Then I looked at those cowering Awakeners and said, "Is there anyone willing to take a gamble and stand with me? Risk is part of business after all. Anyone?"

Most of them looked away from me and soon sneered that I was too naive and didn’t know how the world works, but there was a shuffling of feet and then someone stepped forward. It was Lord Owen.

I laughed. "Well, Lord Owen, I’m going to make you very rich, but for now, all you have to do for me is guard this! Equip!"

A thick metal pole materialized in front of Lord Owen, shining brightly. Those who were familiar with it gasped out loud it was a portable portal that could bring only one person, and for a single use!

And it’s so fucking expensive.

Lord Owen swallowed. "I’ll...d...do my best." He realized that he was doomed now; maybe he shouldn’t have come out, but his business was doomed, and he was planning to retire to one of the far towns.

He pulled a lot of strings and leaned on his crumbling influence just to get here and have a small chance to talk to me. To think things would turn out like this. Well, he was very sure his daughter would be able to sell the rest of their stuff and start a new one in one of the far towns. "I’ll do my best, Lord Argent!"

I laughed, cracking like a broken machine. "Then I’ll face the blood Necromancer on my own! Behold, the riches of the Argent! Equip! Equip! Equip! Equip! Equip!Equip!Equip!Equip!Equip! Equip! Equip Equip.......and Equip!"

"What," Kaelith said.

I was now clad in golden armor that shone with light magic. I held a sword soaked in so much black magic that it began to corrupt my metal hand. I stood on a big metal golem, and around me on the ground were small golems, human-sized, and they all blazed with Iron rank power.

A lot of people don’t know, but one of the requests of becoming a Guildmaster is to have the power and means to be able to at least defend a block of a town or city from a number of Iron rank threats alone! (Since they are on the lower floors where Iron is common, it’s naturally what’s used for judging but when I get to Silver, I’ll have to take the test again...and so on.)

I smiled. "You will now be fighting the Guildmaster of the Gold Guild."

Kaelith laughed. "I admit, I now consider you a threat worth fighting. Answer my summon, My Blood Children!"

The blood pool ripped apart, and creatures began to come out blood worms bigger than humans, monsters of different kinds, and even humans and beastmen.

I saw elves and dwarves, all kinds of races, and the one thing that was constant among them all was the rose blood they had for eyes; their sockets were covered in a rose bloom.

And then behind them all was a monster that stood bigger than the others; it matched the golem I was standing on. "I guess you wouldn’t be a Necromancer if you didn’t have an army. Ah, now I have to fight and get my armor dirty a shame!"

Kaelith gave an order to his horde. "Destroy all his artifacts and any who stand in your way, especially that portal pole, then kill them! But leave that brat to me!"

I didn’t have to send commands as the golem army was connected to the core of the golem, and I said, "Right, come at me....!!"

Kaelith was already in front of me, his eyes blazing with fury and red light; his aura pressure slammed into me, powerful enough to make someone pass out or fall to their knees.

But I only grimaced. "You’re so fast! But can you tone down the pressure? It’s scraping against my soft skin."

Kaelith’s anger rose. To think his presence had no effect it did affect him. He smiled, but then again, I’m no ordinary Iron rank, am I? Instead of trying to intimidate the arrogant bastard, he decided to just beat me until I passed out.

He reached out for my head, and he was shocked when I avoided him with ease. "W...what is that armor you are wearing?"

The gap between the ranks isn’t something that can be sneezed at. Leaving out the level of Grimoire, the body gets strengthened so much that based on strength alone, Silver can crush Iron with only their right hand.

So am I fast because of the armor? Or something else? Kaelith realized then that he had to put in real effort if he wanted to defeat me, and it rubbed him the wrong way.

"That’s good too close and personal!" He leaped straight at me, hand drawn back, and bam! His punch carried a supersonic boom that split the air.

It stirred the air around me, and even though I dodged it, I felt a chill as if the blow had touched me. But before I could even blink, he was in front of me again, kicking out this time, and he got me right in the gut!

I grunted as I slammed into one of my golems. The reason I was able to keep up with Kaelith’s speed was because of an ability I was using, it was called short teleportation, part of light magic.

So each time Kaelith attacked, I used it to move a short distance away. But one thing I forgot was that the person I was fighting wasn’t a warrior, but a mage-type.

I realized my mistake too late.
