Chapter 360: Endless Abyss’s Kevin pays homage to the Great Emperor of Dark Hell!
Chapter 360: Endless Abyss’s Kevin pays homage to the Great Emperor of Dark Hell!
Alexander waved his hand, stopping Full Moon from further challenging the situation, and turned his gaze to Kevin: "What about you? What do you say?"
Kevin, with a conflicted expression, remained silent for a long time before finally kneeling on one knee: "Endless Abyss’s Kevin pays homage to the Great Emperor of Dark Hell!"
With Kevin’s submission, the last trace of resistance in the entire Horror World was thoroughly extinguished. His tens of thousands of controlled followers also knelt in unison: "We pay homage to the Great Emperor of Dark Hell!"
Seizing the moment perfectly, Full Moon, too, kneeled on one knee: "I pay homage to the Great Emperor of Dark Hell!"
With Full Moon’s act, other members on Alexander’s side naturally followed suit, and in unison, the ten trillion-strong ghost army kneeled: "We pay homage to the Great Emperor of Dark Hell!"
Standing in his battle armor, hovering in the void, Alexander looked down at the ten trillion ghost army with surging pride in his heart and waved his hand mightily. The sky suddenly darkened with clouds, and countless black insect corpses accompanied by Ghost Pills rained down.
"Is this... ghost crystal?" A ghost civilian looked in amazement at an insect leg that had landed in front of him, hesitantly biting his lip before consuming it. Instantly, his aura began to skyrocket, rapidly advancing from a evil spirit to a ferocious ghost, then to a fierce ghost.
More ghost civilians experienced rapid increases in strength. Alexander had swept countless insect swarms from the real world, obtaining more than hundreds of billions of insect corpses.
For malevolent ghosts, these were completely absorbable resources. Even dividing a soldier-level insect corpse into a dozen parts was enough to elevate a dozen low-level ghost civilians to the level of a fierce ghost.
In an instant, the entire battlefield surged with Ghost Energy. Those ordinary ghosts, who had previously only been able to hide in their ghost houses, felt immense gratitude towards Alexander after their power surge. Their goodwill towards him skyrocketed.
Even those like Kevin, who initially had their reservations, extinguished any remaining thoughts against Alexander upon witnessing this scene. Alexander’s generosity was simply overwhelming. So much so that any voice of discontent against Alexander would be torn to shreds by the ten trillion-strong army.
...
Crack!
In the clear sky, a bolt of lightning suddenly tore through the heavens, and rolling white mist gathered into an enormous cloud layer, covering the sky.
"Mist World! Oh no, it’s someone from the Mist World!" The crowd immediately descended into chaos.
"Everyone, prepare for battle!" Su Rong, Annie, Edward, and others stood up, calling out loudly.
"No need to panic!" Alexander remained calm, smiling as he watched the ominous clouds of white mist form in the sky, sensing a familiar presence within them. From the clouds, a massive airship slowly emerged, and on its bow, six figures knelt towards Alexander:
"Guardian Black Clothes, greets the Great Emperor of Dark Hell!"
"Guardian Purple Clothes, greets the Great Emperor of Dark Hell!"
"Guardian Pink Clothes, greets the Great Emperor of Dark Hell!"
"Guardian Trickster Clothes, greets the Great Emperor of Dark Hell!"
"Guardian Blood Clothes, greets the Great Emperor of Dark Hell!"
"Guardian Green Clothes, greets the Great Emperor of Dark Hell!"
Six Guardians at once! The crowd was stunned. Throughout the ages, the Horror World had seen many extraordinary figures. There was Hades, who severed the heavens and limited the potential of ghost citizens and hell warriors alike.
James stole the Wall-Breaking Ring, giving the Horror World its first means to confront the Mist World. Hades created Horror Instances, allowing the Horror World to survive...
But no one had ever dared promise to grant forbidden power to all ghost citizens or earned the loyalty of so many Guardians at once.
Six Guardians! There were only seven known Guardians, and Alexander had just won the allegiance of six. The Mist World no longer seemed invincible.
As Alexander gestured for the six women to rise, they did so obediently and stood quietly behind him. This scene further shook everyone, dispelling any doubts, even among those like Kevin who bore grudges against Alexander.
"To all of you!" Alexander’s figure rose high, and his voice thundered like a storm: "I have no desire for dominance or to be an Emperor. The sole purpose of gathering you here is to face the nightmare that has weighed on you for years—the Mist World!"
"Some of you were content with little, yet were coerced here. Some harbored greed and chose to stay. Others bear deep hatred towards me but submitted due to circumstances.
I want to tell you, it’s alright. No matter where you’re from, no matter your reasons, if you no longer wish to face the Mist’s onslaught, living in fear and being herded like cattle, then..."
"Please set aside your comfort, discard your greed, and suspend your hatred for now! The Mist World’s encroachment is intensifying. At this rate, in a hundred years, perhaps even ten, the entire Horror World will be devoured by the Mist!
There will be no next Hades, no second James to prolong the life of the Horror World!"
"I, Alexander, humbly ask you to join me in a final stand against the Mist World, to fight to the death!" As he spoke, two ghost seals hovered above his head, and a hundred-meter-tall phantom emerged from the surging Ghost Energy, bowing deeply before the ten trillion-strong ghost army.
"Fight to the death!" Someone roared, and a wave of angry shouts, like a tsunami, swept across the entire Ghost Realm.
"I declare!" Alexander rose, lifting his hand high and calling out: "The Horror World, prepare for war! When I return, we march against the Mist World!"
Edward and Tony exchanged glances and simultaneously called out: "Awaiting the return of our Great Emperor!"
The ghost army echoed their sentiment, their voices reaching the heavens, scattering the clouds and letting sunlight stream through the gaps, bringing a rare warmth.
Alexander gestured for the six women, including Louis, to follow him towards the city.
At the ghost mansion next to Dark Hell City’s lord’s residence, he stopped and gratefully looked at the six women: "I really can’t thank you enough for today!"
Their timing had been perfect. The Mist World had always been an insurmountable nightmare in the Horror World. Despite Alexander’s promises and even the provision of forbidden power to all, the innate fear the Horror World’s natives felt towards the Mist World was hard to overcome. Centuries of accumulated fear and despair couldn’t be erased by mere words or talents.
Alexander’s original plan was to use a ’ghost sea’ tactic, rallying the armies with temporary zeal and the threat of annihilation. In such large-scale battles, individual cowardice wouldn’t matter. It was a harsh reality, but there was no alternative. However, the effectiveness of such a force would have been minimal.
But then Louis and the others arrived at this crucial moment, pledging their allegiance publicly. This was of paramount importance!
They might not have been significant in terms of the Mist World’s overall strength, but they dispelled the army’s fear of the Mist World at the most critical time.
After all, these were the Guardians!
If the Guardians submitted to the Great Emperor of Dark Hell, what was there to fear?
Their pledge greatly boosted the army’s morale and strength, and it was no wonder Alexander expressed his sincere gratitude.
"Do we still need to say thank you among ourselves?" Louis asked with a smile, her black dress making her especially stunning as she looked at Alexander with deep affection.
"It’s a bit early for you to be saying that, Black Clothes," Zoe teased, her eyes also fixed on Alexander, unwilling to look away.
"Now’s not the time for this," Blood Clothes chided playfully, then curiously asked Alexander, "There are ten trillion soldiers outside, and you’ve made quite the promise. Where do you plan to get ten trillion Ghost Pills from?"
"Yeah, we can’t help you with that," Kui added, "Since our betrayal, we’ve lost control over the Mist Instances and can no longer gather hell warriors to help you manufacture Ghost Pills. Where do you plan to get so many Ghost Pills from? You’re not planning to slaughter your ghost citizens to get them, are you?"
"It seems you don’t know everything," Alexander replied, a hint of surprise in his eyes as he pointed to a nearby well, "I brought you here to protect me while I use Xiao fish to refine Ghost Pills."
"Xiao fish?" The six women were all stunned, their eyes turning to the well in amazement. It seemed they were completely unaware of this plan!
