Chapter 332: Who agrees, and who wants to die?

"You... you’re bluffing, aren’t you?" Untold’s eyes were filled with disbelief.

No matter what, he couldn’t fathom that Alexander’s duplicates were holding real Abandoned Emperor Stones. This was utterly ludicrous!

Alexander summoning so many duplicates, each evidently strong, was in itself incredible.

If each of these duplicates had an Abandoned Emperor Stone—what a joke! Even in the whole of Horror World, even if Hades were alive, he couldn’t produce this many Abandoned Emperor Stones!

It has to be fake. It must be!

Untold had come fully prepared for this occasion. All around him were auxiliary Ghost Treasures and a variety of trap talismans. His army was ready outside, and inside he’d called all his trusted Ghost Emperor allies.

As long as the Guardians didn’t appear, Untold couldn’t see any possibility of failure. Even without the Abandoned Emperor Stones, he was confident of taking down Alexander.

But what Untold never dreamt was that his adversary would summon so many duplicates, each armed with an Abandoned Emperor Stone.

"Don’t believe me? You can test it out," Alexander said, grinning lightly. At his wave, all the duplicates simultaneously opened their boxes and took out the Abandoned Emperor Stones.

"You think you can bluff us with these fakes?" Penelope, as another owner of an Abandoned Emperor Stone, was even less willing to believe what she saw. Grinding her teeth, she vanished in a flicker, ready to attack one of the duplicates.

For her test, she chose an Imperial-level duplicate, lunging to snatch the Abandoned Emperor Stone from its hand. But, to everyone’s astonishment, the duplicate crushed the Stone in its hand without hesitation.

That’s pretty decisive, isn’t it? It’s an Abandoned Emperor Stone!

Once activated, it doesn’t distinguish between friend or foe.

Crushing an Abandoned Emperor Stone—what’s the difference between that and a human bomb?

A cloud of grey mist appeared around the crushed Stone in the Imperial-level duplicate’s hand. Upon seeing this, everyone instinctively took several steps back.

Including Penelope, who hastily tried to retreat. In her view, continuing the attack was already meaningless. Once the Abandoned Emperor Stone shattered, it would autonomously target the nearest person. If the stone was genuine, then this guy was practically courting death.

The energy of the Abandoned Emperor Stone was powerful enough to instantly incapacitate several Imperials around it. Once that happened, a single attack could trigger a chain reaction, destroying the stones in their hands.

This wasn’t an attack; it was more like suicide! All they had to do was prevent him from escaping through his spatial talents.

However, what stunned everyone was that the grey mist didn’t infiltrate the duplicate’s body and seize control of its internal Ghost Energy, as expected. Instead, as if under control, the mist began to circle around Alexander’s duplicate.

With a wave of the duplicate’s right hand, the grey mist shot out like lightning, infiltrating Penelope’s body in the blink of an eye.

Penelope froze on the spot, her face contorted in extreme pain. The energy of the Abandoned Emperor Stone was clearly more domineering than any forbidden power. Her internal Ghost Energy went berserk instantly.

"Save me, save me!" Penelope’s skin turned a bloody red as fine cracks started to form on her body, caused by her rampaging Ghost Energy. Blood oozed from these wounds. She struggled to move, pleading for help from Untold and the others.

At this point, who would dare approach Penelope? Don’t forget she still held an Abandoned Emperor Stone. If she got close, she wouldn’t be the only one dying. Untold and the others retreated in horror, with no intention of aiding their ally.

"You... you all!" Seeing the horrified expressions of her companions as they retreated, Penelope felt her heart sink. Desperate, her eyes suddenly shifted to Alexander.

She spoke with difficulty: "Save me... If you save my life, I’m willing to obey any command you have for me in the future, even if it means... becoming a dog."

Seeing Penelope in this pitiable state, Alexander’s objectives were already met.

Not only had he tested that the energy within the Abandoned Emperor Stone was indeed like a white mist, naturally attuned to him and completely under his control, but he had also proven its authenticity to Untold and the others. Naturally, he didn’t mind adding another female Emperor to his ranks.

In a flash, Alexander appeared in front of Penelope, placing his palm on her forehead. A stream of gray energy was immediately drawn out and absorbed into his palm.

"He can actually control the energy of the Abandoned Emperor Stone!" Isolde was shocked, while Untold behind him was utterly stupefied.

As Alexander absorbed the energy, Penelope’s Ghost Energy returned to normal, and her wounds rapidly healed. Alexander waited patiently for her recovery.

As for Untold and Isolde, they were already trembling in fear, silent on the sidelines.

Soon, Penelope was fully recovered. She cast a cold glance at Untold and Isolde who stood not far away, then kneeled on one knee before Alexander, bowing her head: "Mr. Alexander, from this day on, I am at your disposal, no complaints."

As a Ghost Emperor, especially one who had mastered an Abandoned Emperor Stone, Penelope never imagined facing death. Therefore, when death came knocking, her despair surpassed anyone else’s.

She didn’t resent Alexander; rather, she deeply loathed Untold and the others for their indifference to her plight. Even if they had failed to help her, even if they had merely approached to assess her condition, or even if they had shown a sliver of hesitation while retreating, she could’ve forgiven them.

But no! They retreated without a moment’s hesitation, as if avoiding a plague. This had completely frozen her heart.

In contrast, Alexander was like a ray of sunshine piercing the darkness, dissipating her despair. No matter what the future held, Penelope would follow Alexander’s orders without hesitation.

"Rise," Alexander nodded, his gaze sweeping past Penelope to the trembling crowd behind her.

"You... what do you intend to do?"

Untold, who was acting so confidently just moments ago, began to retreat rapidly at Alexander’s gaze, resembling a frightened rabbit. He looked like he wanted to dig a hole in the ground and crawl into it.

A smirk crept onto Alexander’s lips. He casually tossed the Abandoned Emperor Stone in his hand as he addressed the crowd of trembling Ghost Emperors.

"As of today, this Lake City, including all of you, belongs to my Dark Hell. Who agrees, and who wants to die?"
