Chapter 299: Welcome, my bro!

Chapter 299: Welcome, my bro!

Inside the bathroom, the fourth Zoe walked out. When she saw that another duplicate of herself had appeared in the room, her face instantly turned pale.

Before Alexander could ask anything, she began speaking:"I didn’t do anything. I just went to the bathroom, washed my hands, and everything was normal."

"Did you look in the mirror? Was there anything unusual about your reflection?" Alexander asked impatiently.

"Of course, I looked, and there was nothing wrong," the fourth Zoe answered.

"It seems it’s not just the mirror, then,"

The first duplicate Alexander spoke up after they waited for a bit longer and no second person came out.

"If it were solely an issue with the mirror, and the duplicated Zoe also looked in the mirror, then we would have had an endless cycle of Zoes emerging. Either there can only be one duplicate within a certain timeframe, or only the original can be duplicated by the mirror."

Upon hearing this, the third Zoe’s face lit up with joy, while the others turned a shade paler.

If the first duplicate Alexander’s guess was correct, did that mean the third Zoe was the true original, while the rest were mere duplicates?

"We’ll know if we try!" The second duplicate Alexander said, entering the bathroom. Soon, the sound of running water could be heard.

After a while, he pushed the door open and walked out. As expected, they waited for a few more minutes, but no duplicate appeared.

"It seems we guessed correctly. Now it’s my turn!" Alexander was somewhat excited.

Originally, he was worried that by the time the Instance ended, even if he found the formula for crafting Ghost Pills, he wouldn’t have enough time to make them.

Now there was no need to worry. With enough duplicates, not just a sea of blood but the entire Cangshan City could be converted into Ghost Pills!

Entering the bathroom, Alexander headed straight for the sink. As he washed his hands and prepared to turn off the faucet, his gaze lingered on the mirror.

Sure enough, as his hand reached for the faucet, his reflection in the mirror remained stationary, wearing an eerie smile while staring back at him.

Alexander returned the smile and warmly said to his reflection, "Welcome, my minion!"

After turning off the faucet, he stepped out of the bathroom. A moment later, amidst everyone’s anticipation, the sound of running water was heard again from inside.

"It seems the duplicate continues the actions of the original prior to duplication. Next time, try to minimize your movements to save duplication time," the second duplicate Alexander said with a grin.

"Understood! You have all my memories, even my thought processes. Anything you can think of, I certainly won’t overlook," Alexander nodded.

The door creaked open, and the third duplicate Alexander emerged from the bathroom. He addressed his original: "Boss, your minion has arrived!"

"Welcome, my bro!"

In the room, four Alexanders looked at each other and smiled, the delight evident in their eyes, creating a harmonious scene.

Of course, there were discordant elements as well. The four Zoes stared at each other, faces filled with despair.

The situation had worsened with the addition of another devil.

Just then, faint noises of commotion drifted in from outside the room. The soundproofing in the private rooms of this upscale nightclub was excellent, so if they could hear the noises from inside, things outside must have escalated significantly.

There were screams, sounds of fighting, and even gunshots. Clearly, duplicates were appearing outside as well, causing chaos.

The cycle wasn’t limited to just this room.

However, Alexander was not in a hurry to step out. Given that the entire nightclub was affected by this cycle, there was no telling how many people had been duplicated.

The place might be crawling with Ghost Emperors for all he knew. Rushing out would be suicidal.

Alexander would wait, biding his time until the cycle was almost over, by which point most of the people outside would likely be gone. Only then would it be time for him to venture out and locate the source of this cycle.

Not that Alexander intended to break the cycle this time; his goal was to find the lingering obsession that generated this cycle. He wanted to find a way to halt its continuation without ending this Instance.

This wasn’t really difficult; Alexander had discovered as much during the last Mist Instance.

Once the key corpses were stolen, some cycles immediately fell into chaos.

Take the Mingzhu Apartments, for instance: a minion under Alexander’s command picked up the corpse of the person who had jumped off the building and ran off with it.

After that, the entire apartment complex became chaotic. Potent ghostly figures sealed off Mingzhu Apartments and started killing anyone they saw.

Alexander had deliberately gathered this information from his minions at the time. Of course, he didn’t know he would get stuck in a cycle like this. He collected the data to help him break these cycles in the future.

It was easy to guess that those ghostly figures in Mingzhu Apartments were likely the lingering obsessions causing these cycles. Following this lead, once you satisfy the obsessions of those ghostly figures, the cycles in Mingzhu Apartments would naturally be broken.

The same principle applied to this current cycle; he just needed to find the source of the lingering obsession causing the mysterious cycle in this Nightclub.

For instance, by kidnapping someone that the cycle aims to kill or torture, he could disrupt the cycle and use it to keep duplicating himself.

Forget a billion, forget tens of millions, just 9999 would do!

The thought alone of having 9999 duplicates capable of using talents and Ghost Skills made even Alexander shudder.

Next, Alexander began to experiment with the duplication mechanism, as one duplicate Alexander after another emerged, giving him a deeper understanding of how the duplication works.

First of all, the original had to look into a mirror, but it didn’t have to be a bathroom mirror specifically. Even a black screen on a smartphone would suffice; as long as he caught his reflection, duplication would initiate.

The time needed for duplication was incredibly short, just a fraction of a moment, but it required that no one was watching.

For instance, if Alexander used a dark smartphone screen to capture his reflection while the bathroom door was open, and everyone was looking in the direction of the bathroom, a duplicate would appear behind him.

If there were no blind spots in the room, the duplicate would appear outside the room. However, the distance wouldn’t exceed ten meters from the original.

It turned out that Alexander’s decision not to go out rashly was correct. Outside the Nightclub, regular customers and staff already lay in pools of blood.

Gang members wielding machetes and steel pipes were everywhere; some even had guns. It was complete chaos, a killing frenzy.

If it weren’t for the quick reflexes of a few duplicates, along with their spatial talents, they would have been killed almost as soon as they were replicated.

By now, the fairly large room was filled with Alexander’s duplicates. On the bed, four Zoes huddled together, shivering as they looked at the omnipresent, demonic Alexanders.

It was terrifying! Their only hope was that these demons had no sexual intentions towards them. If so, there was no way they could handle hundreds of demons coming at them at once.

Bang, bang!

From outside, a series of urgent knocks resounded. Gang members in a Rampage State had finally noticed this room.

After knocking a few times without response, the sound of ramming against the door began.

"Everyone, listen up. Don’t give them any opportunities. No matter how many people come in, kill them immediately!" Alexander, the original, ordered in a hushed tone.

Outside, the banging sounds grew louder. Alexander gave a sign, and the door was violently thrown open. Two gang members, their eyes bloodshot and holding machetes, staggered in.

Bang!

The door slammed shut behind them. The gangsters, gripping their blood-stained machetes, cursed as they regained their footing.

"Are you guys insane? You motherf—"

They couldn’t finish their sentence. They froze, gazing upon dozens of identical, grimacing Alexanders standing before them.
