Chapter 163: Isabella and Sophia are not ghosts
Chapter 163: Isabella and Sophia are not ghosts
Oh no! This is bad!
A single question from the Blood Queen made Alexander feel extremely anxious.
Ghostly Piercing Vision was only a general level Ghost Skill, which clearly couldn’t deceive the Blood-Clad Queen.
He didn’t expect this skill to be so effective, or perhaps, the Blood-Clad Queen never thought that Alexander would be so bold as to directly peer into her body.
Now, he was in big trouble!
Alexander’s mind was racing, thinking about possible escape methods.
"What’s wrong?" The Blood Queen hooked up a smile, saying, "Little brother, are you planning to continue weaving a heart-rending love story to deceive me, hoping to move me with it?"
In fact, Alexander had indeed planned to do that, but hearing the Blood Queen say this, he immediately felt that the method was no longer feasible.
He had to change the subject quickly, otherwise, there would be big trouble this time!
"Your Majesty... I was just using my Ghost Skill to observe the distance, and I noticed a faint mist shrouding the edge of the Thrilling World."
"And then?" The Blood Queen didn’t divert much attention, looking as if she already knew.
"I have something here that I would like your Majesty to look at. It seems to come from that mist."
Seeing the Blood Queen was not concerned, Alexander decided to play his trump card. With a light wave of his hand, a silver bell appeared.
"Why would she pay attention to you now!" The Blood Queen’s face changed, her expression becoming very ugly.
This bell did have a problem; it looked like the Blood Queen recognized the guardian or something.
Alexander took out this bell, one to divert the Blood Queen’s attention, and another to probe.
"Your Highness, the ’she’ you mentioned, is the White Guardian, right?" Alexander asked tentatively.
"Don’t you think you know too much?" The Blood Queen looked at Alexander with a cold gaze, her voice icy: "Aren’t you afraid that I’ll silence you?"
At this time, Alexander, who was initially somewhat afraid, had regained his calm, answering with an easy tone, "Not afraid!"
"Why?" This time, it was the Blood Queen’s turn to be puzzled.
"There have been too many coincidences happening to me. I think there must be something special about me that is of great use to you all, so you went to great lengths to bring me to the Thrilling World, right? Before your goals are achieved, I should be safe," Alexander confidently said.
After his original community disappeared, the shackles in Alexander’s memory seemed to have been broken.
In an instant, he quickly organized and inferred a reasonable possibility about the series of coincidences regarding himself, having read a lot of online novels.
Without a doubt, the entire community where Alexander lived was false; everything seemed to be staged around him.
Sophia once gave him 3000 ghost coins, and Isabella secretly bought a property for him.
Judging from these aspects, the community he used to live in was not some space-time overlap but a district deliberately built for him.
Having orchestrated all these incidents, their ultimate objective was merely to guide Alexander into the Ghost Apartment without arousing his suspicion and transform him into a ghost master.
The oddly arrived supermarket coupon was clearly designed to enable him to obtain the bottle of wine that could awaken his memories of past lives.
Linking these coincidences, the hidden orchestrator’s intent was clear: to thrust him into the horror world, strengthen his abilities, and awaken his past life memories.
Obviously, his past self could have been someone significant.
The identity of the man in white has now been confirmed - her is some kind of Guardian.
Given the Blood Queen knew of the other’s identity, it’s likely she is also a Guardian, and judging by the way she speaks, she is probably on par with the White Guardian.
From this, it’s not outlandish to suspect that Sophia and Isabella might also be Guardians.
However, it was evident from the Blood Queen’s surprised reaction that she and the White Guardian are not on the same side.
Perhaps a bolder assumption would be that Alexander could be the key to opening Pandora’s Box.
It appears that the White Guardian and the Blood Queen belong to two different factions, with the latter seemingly on his side.
After all, the Blood Queen has consistently maintained a 70% favorable impression of him.
The only question remaining was whether he was ’Pandora’s Box’ itself or the key to unlocking it.
If it’s the former, there wouldn’t be an issue as the Blood Queen would surely protect him, and he just needs to oppose the White Guardian.
But if it’s the latter, even if he manages to eliminate the White Guardian, Alexander may not escape the fate of being sacrificed.
However, for the current Alexander, these matters are still far too distant.
His most pressing concern and the thing he wants to know the most right now is where Sophia and Isabella have gone.
"You’re quite clever, aren’t you?" The Blood Queen said with a smile, her blood-red painted finger tracing gently on Alexander’s face, "But clever people often don’t meet good ends. Be careful, young man."
Knowing that she wouldn’t harm him, Alexander relaxed entirely, his gaze fixed on the Blood Queen’s eyes, and he asked,
"Your Majesty, I don’t know your purpose, and I assume you won’t tell me, but there’s one thing I must know. Are Isabella and Sophia alive or dead? Will I see them again?"
"Isabella? Sophia?" The Blood Queen looked puzzled. "Who are these two you’re speaking of? I’ve never heard of them in the dark hell."
"Isabella and Sophia!" Alexander, his brows furrowed, stared at the Blood Queen, trying to see through her facade. "They aren’t from this world. Tell me where they are now, are they safe?"
"Are you joking?" The Blood Queen rolled her eyes, appearing speechless. "How am I supposed to know what happens in the real world?"
"So they’re not ghosts that left the horror world?" Alexander asked, puzzled.
With the strange disappearance of the entire community and their residences turned into a cemetery, Alexander’s first reaction was naturally to believe that all his neighbors were ghosts.
"Impossible!"
The Blood Queen shook her head decisively, "Ghosts from the horror world absolutely cannot leave. If they could, the real world would’ve become a living hell long ago. High-level evil ghosts aren’t that interested in the chosen ones because they’re strong enough to resist the temptation.
To them, the power of the chosen ones is akin to that of a mosquito or an ant. Of course, a lion wouldn’t be interested in a chunk of meat the size of an ant, no matter how delicious it might be.
"But if a ghost appeared directly in the real world, it would be different. The life essence of countless humans would drive any level of evil ghost mad, even the ghost emperor would find it hard to resist this temptation. If your two friends are people you met in reality, they absolutely cannot be ghosts."
The Blood Queen’s words did not seem like a lie, which left Alexander more puzzled.
If the Blood Queen didn’t know about the existence of Isabella and Sophia, then who were they?
Don’t forget, the invitation to the Ghost Restaurant was obtained from Sophia!
And the Ghost Restaurant was where Alexander gained the most - from the Blood Queen herself!
