Chapter 595: Shattering the Sovereign

The battle had been going on for an hour, yet there was no progress at all.

If they hadn’t spent the last ten days or so in the desert and adapted to its conditions, they would have collapsed long ago.

The harsh environment was limiting their strength. Luckily, their spiritual power had condensed and their dantian expanded.

They could fight for longer without running out of spiritual power.

This showed that her attack had worked and finally, a dent appeared on the sandman.

"It works." Chu Hao jumped in excitement when he saw the dent.

"Bunny, keep going." He shouted at his sister.

However, before they could launch another attack, they saw the sand under the guardian’s feet move and climb to its arm before repairing the earlier damage.

"Oh, it’s not that easy after all." Li Kun commented sadly.

"Not necessarily. Look at the repaired area. It’s unstable." Ye Xuan didn’t want the team to be discouraged right after finding a breakthrough.

The others looked at the place Ye Xuan mentioned and indeed, it was unstable.

"Everyone, attack the same spot with everything you got." Gu Fan said and led with the first attack aimed at the newly repaired body part of the sandman.

As they prepared to attack collectively, the ground under their feet suddenly began to collapse and a huge vortex appeared at the center pulling everyone towards it.

"Everyone, try to resist." Chu Miao shouted.

If they were pulled into the vortex, they would be buried alive.

Everyone tried hard to resist but even with their strength combined, they were still powerless and couldn’t help being dragged towards the center of the vortex.

"This is bad!" Pei Ming shouted.

Chu Miao’s expression turned serious.

This was more than just strength, it was absolute control of the environment.

If this kept going on, none of them would survive.

"Don’t split up. Let’s combine our strengths and attack together." Chu Miao called out.

In the next moment, Ye Xuan appeared beside her.

With one look, they understood each other.

The strength of a nascent soul exploded from their bodies as both light element and darkness element combined to push back the vortex.

The others followed suit and gathered all their strength in the palm of their hands and aimed them at the guardian at the same time.

The guardian was still at the center, fueling the vortex with its strength.

Then, all of them attacked at the same time, aiming at one spot.

The unstable spot where Chu Miao had injured it.

Chu Miao’s voice cut through the roaring desert like a blade.

In that single instant, everyone moved as one without hesitation.

Aiming bolts of lightning at a single spot.

Chu Miao also condensed her light energy into a single attack aimed at the same spot.

The others did the same and as their attack landed, everything seemed to distort and the impact sent a shockwave that was hundreds of meters in radius.

The vortex collapsed and the sand forming walls around them started to crack like glass.

The guardian’s body trembled from the impact and the point of contact caved inward.

Cracks spread rapidly across its torso like a spiderweb.

"Good..." the guardian said with what Chu Miao could almost determine as pride.

The cracks on its body widened and light leaked through.

The structure of its body began to collapse.

"No way..." Pei Ming whispered, breathing heavily.

"We actually did it?"

"Not yet," Chu Miao said sharply.

"Again!"

She didn’t wait for the others to respond as she launched another assault on the guardian.

She had fought enough battles to know that until your enemy was down, you could not let your guard down.

So, they had to make sure the guardian was completely defeated before they could celebrate.

She and Ye Xuan turned into blurred afterimages as they landed punch after punch on the guardian.

The cracks on its sand body deepened and the guardian staggered backwards.

Its body lost its earlier cohesion and sand began to fall from it in chunks.

Seeing this, Li Kian spoke quickly.

"Finish it completely."

No one held back anymore as they poured every last bit of strength they had in that one strike.
