Chapter 581: Setting A Protective Barrier
Chapter 581: Setting A Protective Barrier
Everyone went to prepare and Grandpa Chu called Chu Miao aside for a talk.
"Bunny, are the emergency teleportation arrays you had planned to build ready?" He asked as soon as the two sat down in Chu Miao’s bedroom.
"No, I haven’t finished building them. Why? Are you in a hurry grandpa?" Chu Miao asked seriously.
She didn’t believe that her grandfather would ask such a question for no reason.
"Now that we have seen so many changes with zombies recently, I think we should be prepared for any situation. The fact that there is a zombie king meant that there are strong zombies in the world now and we don’t know if they would launch a surprise attack on us some day and we might not be able to protect our people." Grandpa Chu’s concern wasn’t unfounded.
After what happened in Russia, if they didn’t take action, they would have lived so many lifetimes for nothing.
"Alright. Maybe I should finish building them before we go for training in the Soul Ring. That way, if there was an emergency, all those in the sect had to do was activate the array and they would be transferred to the bunker in the mountain." Chu Miao agreed with her grandfather on this.
"Okay, you make the arrangements. I heard from Hao that the bunker has been completed and people can move there at any moment." Grandpa Chu added proudly.
It had taken some time for the earth element users to expand the bunker and make it habitable.
"Okay, I’ll go take a look first before finding the best spot to build the array."
In fact, there was already a teleportation array formation near the bunker that Chu Miao set up before, but it hadn’t been too big and neither was it very stable.
However, now that her cultivation had increased, she could build a more powerful teleportation array.
After chatting for a while more, Grandpa Chu went back to his room while Chu Miao changed her clothes and teleported directly to the mountain outside the bunker.
There was no one on the mountain except for some animals that had mutated.
She first did a semi-tour of the mountain outside and noticed that many plants had also mutated.
In fact, there were wild vegetables that now had spiritual energy and could be used to make spirit food.
Unfortunately, most of the vegetation had mutated and become man-eating plants.
They couldn’t be eaten at all, or whoever ate them would be affected by the zombie virus and mutate as well.
Upon seeing that there wasn’t a single zombie on the entire mountain, she was overjoyed.
This was a sanctuary that was prepared for them in case the outside world became completely inhabitable or if they needed to retreat temporarily.
After thinking about it, Chu Miao decided to first secure the entire mountain to prevent others from breaking in unannounced.
Thus she set up an illusion array and a protective barrier around the whole mountain from the door of the mountain to the peak.
Now, even if someone entered the mountain by mistake, they wouldn’t be able to walk for more than ten meters before getting confused and lost.
Even zombies wouldn’t be able to enter the mountain.
In this way, the bunker was completely safe.
Once she was done with the defensive barrier and illusion array, Chu Miao got down to business.
She built a teleportation array near the entrance of the bunker that could transport a hundred people in one trip.
In this way, even though there were now thousands of people in the sect, it wouldn’t take many trips to teleport them all to the bunker.
As long as the barrier at the sect could hold on for half a day, Chu Miao wasn’t worried that she could get everyone to safety in case something unexpected happened.
After the teleportation arrays were done, Chu Miao finally decided to go into the bunker and inspect it.
However, the moment she stepped inside, she wasn’t prepared for what she saw.
The bunker that had once been a refuge with about a hundred rooms dug out of the mountain was now like a city.
The entire mountain had been hollowed and even areas beyond were included in an underground city.
There were apartments, schools, restaurants, and an entertainment center in the bunker.
There was also a research center set up and a large farm that was clearly taken care of regularly.
It was blooming with healthy crops and fruit trees.
It was surprising that they could grow so well in such an enclosed space.
There were also public water tanks set up in public areas to enable those without water superpower individuals at home to get a constant water supply once they moved in.
Chu Miao toured the entire place and even found a parking lot at the other end of the city.
There were already some cars and buses packed there.
There was also another entrance on the other side of the city.
Just like the other entrance, it also had a sterilizing room to ensure that whoever or whatever entered the base was completely clean.
The only difference was that this exit was wide. It was obvious that it was meant for locomotives.
See such a thoughtful design, Chu Miao
was grateful that she hadn’t taken on everything on herself and instead had sought help from others.
Now that she saw that everything was ready, even if zombies ran over their sect, they had a more secure place to live in, she breathed a sigh of relief.
She teleported back to the sect and found that everyone was already waiting for her.
She had been gone for a whole day and those preparing to enter seclusion in the Soul Ring or those going for training had been waiting for her.
"If everyone is ready, I will take you all in." She said as soon as she walked into her house and found it full to the brim.
"Okay, have you finished what you were doing?" Grandpa Chu asked with a proud smile.
"Yes, grandpa." Chu Miao replied before waving her hand and taking everyone into the Soul Ring.
