Chapter 521 - 450 Disaster_2

Almost within reach.

Huai Shi instinctively held his breath. He felt flashes of lightning striking down like trees beside him, their wild descent reaching the ground. Immediately after, the roar of the storm spread with a howl.

The floodwaters, sweeping in from afar, completely submerged the spot where he had just been.

Laden with incredible power, the tsunami-like flood easily crushed the city ruins below to smithereens, swallowing the Abnormal Zone and spreading far and wide.

Above the tumbling muddy torrents, Huai Shi couldn't catch his breath amidst the tempest.

It was the emergency life-saving device—a paraglider he had taken out from his saddlebag—that had pulled him up into the sky at the last moment.

Now, swept by the furious winds, he felt like a leaf in the breeze, helplessly and awkwardly tumbling. He kept descending under the assault of the downpour, only to be lifted again by the storm.

Loud peals of thunder incessantly erupted around him.

He clumsily tugged at the two handles, directing the paraglider so as not to get struck by Thunder or smashed into mush by some phantom falling from the sky.

Under the gleaming of the Mirror of Nothingness, everything became starkly visible. Every sign of danger was illuminated with uncanny clarity, allowing him to dodge with ease.

It didn't take long for him to master the operation of the paraglider.

All he needed to do was be wary of the thunder.

The storm would carry him soaring through the sky, avoiding both the surging floodwaters and the peril on the ground.

As fear and dread gradually subsided, a sense of novelty from flying took over.

Even though he was merely gliding, he couldn't help but indulge in the sensation, feeling the tumultuous winds lifting him, floating between the thunderclouds and the Ze Kingdom below.

Whenever he sensed the premonition of being enveloped by the static in the clouds, or the reminder of Death Perception, he would promptly fashion an iron bar and throw it with all his might, shifting the target of the lightning strike away from himself.

He even had the luxury of gazing down upon the terror unleashed by this natural disaster from high up in the sky.

The whole world seemed submerged in the endless downpour and floodwaters.

Radiation from the Sea bay echoed in this desolate stretch of heaven and earth.

Everything felt like it had been thrown into a tiny box and shaken vigorously. Heaven and earth convulsed and spun, venting long-accumulated rage and fury.

And Huai Shi, like a flying insect, flitted tremulously between heaven and earth, avoiding becoming the target of this violent outburst.

But then, before he had a chance to catch his breath, he witnessed a despairing scene in the distance.

It was where countless storms congregated...

In the narrow gap between the torrents and the dark clouds, a thick column rose slowly from the floodwaters of the earth. Then, the dark clouds twisted, morphed into a vortex, and bore down slowly.

In the end, under the pull of the wind tunnel, they became a vast tornado that engulfed everything, radiating scorching lightning in all directions.

Its imposing and majestic form descended between heaven and earth, drawing all things into its belly, bringing complete destruction to everything.

"Dammit, why!!!"

Unable to suppress the impulse to weep, Huai Shi screamed beneath the paraglider. He pulled at the paraglider desperately, trying to change direction.

But it was already too late. He had been captured by the power of the tornado, moving involuntarily with the storm's direction. He spun around the massive grey-black tornado, swiftly and eagerly plunging into the whirlpool of death.

In the fierce winds rushing toward him, Huai Shi was pulled by the paraglider, beginning to spin wildly in the air, tumbling uncontrollably.

The world spun.

He struggled with all his might, but it was utterly useless.

The massive tornado neared, growing more ferocious with each moment. Through the clouds of dust and mist, Huai Shi could even glimpse the terrifying lightning hidden within.

Darkness suddenly fell before his eyes. A Little Stone struck his gas mask, shattering the sturdy shell instantly. The tremendous kinetic energy, like a sniper bullet, whistled past Huai Shi's temple. If not for Death Perception prompting him to subconsciously twist his head, he probably would have been killed instantly by the stone.

But this only postponed his death, for the tornado was already within arm's reach.

An endless surge of Death Perception sprang forth from his body, as if every inch of air in this world couldn't wait to kill him, crush him into paste, and grind him to dust.

Accompanied by the mournful cry of his shredded paraglider, Huai Shi was hurled out.

He finally fell from the sky, crashing into the raging currents below the tornado. In the oxygen-deprived suffocation and severe grogginess, Huai Shi subconsciously twisted his body.

Praying he could swim through the wind like a fish.

But it was already too late. He had long been dried out, turned into a salted fish, and now it was time to throw him in the pot. He couldn't escape.

Like a Meteorite falling from the sky, amid the roaring wind, Huai Shi broke through the outer layer of the tornado and plunged into the death vacuum brewing with countless sparks and destruction.

For a moment, he felt he was hallucinating.

Incredible.

The world seemed to fall silent in an instant.

As he looked up while spinning violently, gazing down below, the chaotic scene was briefly illuminated by a fleeting flash of lightning.

Yet amidst the tumultuous upheaval and countless whirlpools of the Ze Kingdom, there was a stretch of sea maintaining a deathly silence.

It was as if it had been frozen.

Under the trampling of a pair of boots, countless surging forces were effortlessly leveled. Tension, pull, gravity, and even the void itself—all these inconsequential things—subsided into a subdued calm.

A slender figure walked upon the solidified water surface as if strolling through her own backyard.

The surging storm could not engulf her.

For she seemed like a Phantom, walking through the ephemeral gaps within the storm, calmly stepping forward.

Upon noticing Huai Shi falling from the sky, the face beneath the gas mask tilted in confusion, as if pondering where this ghastly thing had flown from.

Then, she extended her hand.

Huai Shi felt invisible fingers grasping at his ankle, and with the figure's tug, he was suddenly pulled towards her.

Immediately after, she easily reached out and caught hold of his collar.

She incredibly dissipated the massive kinetic energy of his fall; only the calm water beneath her feet trembled for an instant, emitting a muffled, boiling-like sound.

Huai Shi's vision went dark. Overwhelmed by the still-immense recoil that persisted despite multiple dampening effects, and by such an intense Transformation, he passed out.

Before losing consciousness, he heard a familiar voice through the storm.

Like an illusion.

The voice was laughing softly, so cheerfully.

"You really came, Huai Shi?"
