Apocalypse Blessing - Did I Become an Extra?

Chapter 116 - 116 - Selecting Academy

Chapter 116 - 116 - Selecting Academy

Today was the day every student would select the academy they would be attending.

Among the students who had participated in the entrance examination, many had already joined various academies the moment they received good offers.

Usually, the top academies did not personally reach out to you unless you were an exceptional person.

Excluding the top three academies, Sam had already received offers from four of the other top ten.

Unfortunately, he did not want to join any of those. Since he was familiar with the plot, he knew that other than the top three, the other academies were not able to provide their students with much protection.

One could not underestimate the top three academies. Not only could they provide their students with vast resources, but they also possessed strong defense systems that would be vital for all students during the upcoming apocalypse.

Sam was still unable to decide which academy he should join. Should he join the Golden Dawn Academy like David and the others?

Doing so would allow him to stay close to the main plot and the main character, earning him many more fate points. Or, he could simply join one of the other two top-tier academies.

"Son, are you ready for today's selection?"

While Sam was lost in thought, he suddenly heard his mother's voice. Hina was standing outside his room.

"Yes, Mom. I think I'm ready, and I've already decided what to do."

Hina just smiled and told him that he shouldn't feel too much pressure, as they would be there to support any decision he made.

Hearing that, Sam smiled. It was truly nice to have a supportive family like this.

'I just hope the butterfly effect hasn't affected the choices of the main characters.'

"Haha… young man, are you ready for today? Don't feel pressured. Also, as I told you before, you should join the Warrior Association after graduating from the academy."

Elder Alexander said this to Sam. Elder Alexander, alongside many other representatives from the Warrior Association, was also present at the selection grounds.

All the participants who had passed the entrance examinations were gathered at the selection ground—the same place where they had taken their written exams.

Here, students could directly approach representatives from various academies.

These officials would check if the students were qualified and respond immediately. Only the students who had already accepted offers from other academies were absent.

"Sam!!!!"

Suddenly, Sam heard Alexa's voice from behind. He turned around and saw Alexa alongside her mother. Alexa's mother, Emily Mathur, was one of the best healers in existence.

Sam immediately greeted her. She was a legend; during the apocalypse, she saved countless people without regard for her own safety.

Hina, standing beside Sam, suddenly felt a wave of pressure just looking at a legendary figure like Emily. Fortunately, Emily didn't show any arrogance.

"Haha… Sam, I've heard a lot about you from my daughter. I am really thankful that you are her friend."

After a while, Fiona arrived with her family. Her mother began talking to Emily and Hina. It seemed that in this short time, the three of them had become good friends despite their different backgrounds.

Sam looked at the various booths alongside Alexa and Fiona. Max, Lily, and the others were also there.

As expected, everyone was waiting for the representatives from the top three academies to arrive. They had not yet reached the selection ground.

"Guys, I don't know which academy you all will choose, but let's promise each other that in the future, we will help one another in any situation."

David suddenly spoke up. Hearing that, Max and the others simply nodded. Well, what could you say? He really was the main character. In the future, people would follow David because of these very traits.

Finally, the waiting was over as the selectors from the top ten academies arrived. Immediately, the students began to approach them one by one. It would certainly take a long time for every student to be processed.

Fortunately, Sam, Alexa, and the others were patient. They took their time approaching the booths. Surprisingly, Alexa and Fiona were approached by recruiters from Falcon Academy, Shield Academy, and Winter Academy—all of which were in the top ten.

Unfortunately, both girls rejected them. David and the others received similar invitations, which they also politely declined.

Sam, however, was not approached by any of them; it seemed they were intentionally avoiding him.

Sam didn't care, as he knew the reason behind it.

First of all, he came from a common background and hadn't made much of an impact yet. On the other hand, Max and the others came from established Warrior backgrounds.

"Hmph… do they think you won't be selected by the top three academies? How can they show that kind of arrogance?"

"Well, let them be. I was the one who previously rejected them. I didn't expect them to approach me again after a rejection like that. Honestly, I'm just feeling hungry waiting like this. Should I go and eat something?"

Hearing his words, Alexa and Fiona looked at each other and began to laugh. Both had assumed he was angry, but who would have thought he was just thinking about food?

Finally, after waiting for two hours, they got the chance to approach the Golden Dawn Academy booth. Sam had already decided which academy to choose and had told Alexa and Fiona.

Naturally, in the original story, both of them would have gone to different academies, but this time something unexpected happened.

The three of them approached the booth one by one and submitted their application forms. This caused quite a stir among the crowd. This year, not only Alexa and Fiona, but David, Max, James, Lily, and Jenny also approached Golden Dawn Academy.

The situation created a huge commotion. Why were almost all of the top ten rank-holders approaching Golden Dawn?

'Sigh, now this is a really unexpected situation. Forget about that, I just hope I get admitted. Staying close to David and the others will give me more fate points. I need them to grow stronger.'

Sam was worried that, due to his common background, he might not be selected despite his excellent results. Fortunately, he faced no difficulties and even received a Grade B+ contract from the academy.
