Author's Note on the Launch of Chapter 104

I never imagined I'd be able to keep writing until it was published.

Taking this opportunity to share my thoughts, I can finally talk to you about this book.

The inspiration for writing this book came from the book "King of Hollywood" by the great author Weiwu Wuwei. It is a very old American entertainment novel, but most readers who like American entertainment novels should have read this book.

I don't quite remember when I first read this book, but I do remember that when I first read it, my understanding of Hollywood was basically at the level of a casual observer.

I only know Leonardo DiCaprio among male actors, and Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Christopher Nolan, and Quentin Tarantino among directors. As for female celebrities, I don't recognize any of them.

Oh wait, I've heard of the "ball flower" which is on par with "ball grass," but I really don't recognize any of them.

So much so that when I was reading this book, whenever a female celebrity's name came up, I would search for her on Baidu Baike to see what she looked like, searching for each one that came up.

I initially thought I might not be able to finish watching it because I wasn't familiar with the characters, but in fact, I not only finished watching it, but I also rewatched it several times.

The smooth writing style, relatively three-dimensional character development, and realistic, reasonable, and rich emotional storylines are probably the main reasons why I kept reading.

Then I ran out of books to read. After reading this one, I just couldn't bring myself to read any other American entertainment novels.

The book by Chicago Black, while not inferior to "The King of Hollywood" in terms of writing style and character development, is even slightly better.

However, because the main character kept getting into all sorts of trouble, I gave up halfway through and couldn't stick with it until the finale. In fact, it turned out that it was a good thing that I didn't finish watching it.

After experiencing a reading slump, I thought about trying to write one myself. After reading "The King of Hollywood," I also developed a considerable interest in the genre.

Then I started writing the book, researching and updating it simultaneously.

Writing a book and reading a book are two different things. This is my most genuine and important thought after updating more than 200,000 words.

Storytelling is not as simple as I thought.

Before I started writing this book, I often complained online that Hollywood has been making sequels or rebooting IPs in recent years, with fewer and fewer genuine original scripts. Hollywood filmmakers would rather spend tens of millions or even hundreds of millions of dollars on special effects and big scenes than spend money to buy a good script.

I was wrong, I was really wrong. A good script, a good story, really can't be bought with money. Money isn't everything, and this is one of the things it can't do.

A good script or a good story is sometimes the result of a screenwriter's brilliant touch; it's something that can't be forced.

Creating a good story with sound logic, well-developed characters, and a dramatic and suspenseful plot is far more difficult than most people imagine.

When I was a reader, I would occasionally criticize the author for a particular plot point that I didn't enjoy.

I will never do that again. If I don't like something, I will just quietly click the exit button in the upper left corner. I will no longer criticize other people's work just for the sake of momentary pleasure.

Some readers may think I'm being too sentimental or exaggerated, but these are truly my feelings.

Readers who have signed contracts with Dianping and written tens of thousands of words may better understand what I said above.

Returning to this book, I've seen many readers say that it contains too much popular science and is too superficial.

I admit that, but it's not that I'm being lazy and writing it this way on purpose. In fact, even these seemingly trivial contents are very difficult for me to write. When I'm in a good mood, I can write more than a thousand words in an hour, but when I'm not in a good mood, I can write less than a thousand words.

Some people say that these popular science materials are directly copied and pasted from Baidu Encyclopedia, but that's not true. I can guarantee that every word in this book was typed out by me, one by one.

Some popular science and gossip information is not easy to find, so I have to use several search engines at the same time, constantly comparing and verifying it, in order to ensure the authenticity and accuracy of what I find.

However, a sloppy job is a sloppy job, and this objective fact will not fundamentally change no matter how seriously one takes the sloppy work. This is an important conclusion I drew from following up on the data in the background.

I'm saying all this just to make it clear that I'm not writing this because I'm lazy or trying to be perfunctory with my readers, but because my current writing skills are not yet sufficient to support a daily update of several thousand words without any filler.

Speaking of which, I still want to thank all the readers who have followed me to the latest chapter. Without your support, I would not be qualified to sit here and write this post-launch message.

It's true. The day before yesterday, I asked the editor if it could be published by the end of the month. The editor said that 89 True Chase didn't meet the requirements of 100 True Chase, and I need to write 30 words before it can be published.

Then yesterday, the number of readers who actually read the book unexpectedly exceeded 100, which allowed me to put it on sale at this time. I am really grateful to those readers who followed the book, as well as those readers who gave me recommendation tickets and monthly tickets every day, so that I know I am not playing this game alone.

Okay, let's get back to the update issue.

Because of my lack of experience, I don't have many chapters saved up. I just checked and it seems I have two chapters left. I'll write two more today, making a total of four chapters.

To avoid any unforeseen circumstances that would cause me to stop updating and lose my full attendance bonus, I've decided to leave myself a chapter as a buffer, so that writing it won't be so mentally exhausting.

So there should be three chapters today, one at noon and two in the evening.

The update times will remain the same as before, at 12 noon and 9 pm, though there may be occasional delays due to review issues.
