“We can provide the loan, but it involves various international banking regulations, Venus Bank’s approval, and your nation’s collateral, among other matters. It will take at least a few months to be approved, and I’m not sure if your nation can wait until then!”

Donnie thought for a moment, knowing that in a few months, the principal would have to grudgingly agree to a united resistance against Japan.

Although a large portion of the money would end up in the pockets of those in the government’s upper echelons, as long as part of it was used for the resistance against Japan, it would be worth it.

Moreover, establishing good relations with the National Government now would be beneficial for Breton Bank’s business expansion in the East!

Having heard that Donnie was willing to provide them with a loan, the officials from the Eastern National Government were thrilled.

As for the timing, they were willing to wait. After all, in their view, the domestic situation was unlikely to stabilize in a few years.

“Thank you, Mr. Block, thank you. I represent four hundred million people from the East in expressing gratitude to you!”

“Who knows if those four hundred million people from the East are willing to be represented by you!” Donnie secretly muttered, then smiled and said, “It’s what should be done. As for the specifics, you should first discuss with Karam and Forbes!”

After saying this, Donnie left the reception room.

“How are the pharmaceuticals I asked Frigga Pharmaceuticals to prepare coming along?”

Donnie sat on a sofa in the corridor and asked Mackenzie Pop.

Earlier this year, Donnie had already instructed Frigga Pharmaceuticals to prepare $3 million worth of battlefield pharmaceuticals for him.

This $3 million came from Donnie’s personal account and was transferred to Frigga Pharmaceuticals.

In other words, these pharmaceuticals were privately purchased by Donnie!

However, since purchasing them, Donnie had not yet used these pharmaceuticals.

Upon hearing Donnie inquire about the pharmaceuticals, Mackenzie Pop immediately replied, “They are ready and currently stored in the United States Logistics’ warehouse!”

Donnie said, “Arrange for United States Logistics’ cargo ship to transport these pharmaceuticals to Hong Kong. At that time, Feng Zhangping will receive them. Also, inform Frigga Pharmaceuticals to prepare three to five million US dollars’ worth of pharmaceuticals each year, saying that I have use for them!”

Mackenzie Pop nodded, “Alright!”

Donnie waved his hand to dismiss Mackenzie Pop and then called for Levin Peters.

“Deliver this letter to Feng Zhangping, and remember to hand it over secretly. I don’t want anyone other than Feng Zhangping to see this letter!”

Levin Peters understood Donnie’s intention immediately and said, “Understood, I will personally arrange for someone to deliver the letter to Hong Kong!”

Donnie nodded.

Afterward, Levin Peters went to handle this matter, while Donnie stayed in Washington to deal with the officials from the Eastern National Government.

More than a month later, Feng Zhangping received Donnie’s secret letter in Hong Kong.

Upon seeing the secret letter, Feng Zhangping immediately began executing the tasks as instructed by Donnie.

He dispatched someone to the mainland to contact the gentleman whom Donnie had met when he was in Germany, who was now holding a central position in the Eastern Communist Government.

The pharmaceuticals were donated to this gentleman.

Furthermore, Feng Zhangping informed the gentleman that each year similar quantities of pharmaceuticals would be donated to them.

This series of actions surprised the gentleman, but recalling his past conversation with Donnie in Germany, he chose to trust Donnie’s support and reported the matter to the central authorities.

The Eastern Communist Government valued this matter highly.

Finally, both parties agreed to establish a secret liaison point in Hong Kong.

More than a month later, Donnie learned about the entire course of events in the East.

Regarding this, Donnie chose not to do anything further.

Donnie did not think his actions were noble; he admitted he was not a good person.

But some actions needed to be taken, as even a bad person should have a bottom line.

After the matter concluded, the officials from the Eastern National Government left Washington with contracts signed with Ares Military Industry and Frigga Pharmaceuticals.

As Donnie had speculated, they hadn’t considered buying the most advanced aircraft but instead purchased a batch of combat fighters retired by the US Air Force during World War I from Ares Military Industry.

In reality, these planes were not produced by Ares Military Industry, but in order to curry favor with Donnie and secure loans from Venus Bank, they handed the order to Ares Military Industry.

In response, Donnie merely chuckled without making any comments.

After they left, Donnie met with Franklin Roosevelt to discuss some issues.

As mentioned before, Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal wasn’t going smoothly.

Upon taking office, Franklin Roosevelt was highly revered by Americans nationwide.

But Americans have a habit of showing immense tolerance for a newly elected president. If after a year or two the new president fails to achieve significant outcomes, the initial reverence turns into protests.

It’s a tradition.

Franklin Roosevelt had grand plans and naturally did not want to see such a situation.

Hence, he hoped to receive Donnie’s support.

“Mr. President, Venus Bank has always been unflagging in its support for you. The current situation cannot be changed overnight, but there is an opportunity to change it now!”

Franklin Roosevelt looked at Donnie jubilantly and asked, “What opportunity?”

Donnie replied, “When internal conflicts can’t be reconciled, the best solution is to create external conflicts to divert public attention. Didn’t President Wilson do the same back then!”

Wilson, the scholar president of the United States, encountered World War I during his term, which brought his prestige to its peak!

Donnie continued, “This year, the little mustache has fully controlled everything in Germany. I believe, given his personality, the future awaiting Europe will be a war that exceeds World War I!”

Franklin Roosevelt wasn’t surprised by this news.

Never assume that people of this era were fools; sometimes they couldn’t foresee certain things due to the limitations of the era.

It wasn’t because they were more foolish than those after them.

Once the little mustache took power in Germany, some already believed that he was likely to start a war.

But when the war would start and the likelihood of it happening remained unknown.

Donnie continued, “Europe’s economy is too closely linked with the United States, so if Europe goes to war, it would be highly beneficial for the US mainland.

We can leverage the European war to take over Europe’s economy; thus, it would stimulate the American economy through Europe’s economic woes!”

Franklin Roosevelt immediately grasped Donnie’s meaning.

“So, what we need to do now is to give the little mustache more confidence, as only with more confidence will he be driven to do more reckless things…

Yes, right now we need to publicly condemn the little mustache, yet secretly conduct all sorts of dealings with him.

If a war truly breaks out, we must consider the public’s war-weariness, so initially we cannot join the European battlefield; we must wait for the right moment.

When necessary, the little mustache will become our enemy!”

After Donnie initiated the idea, Franklin Roosevelt had already envisioned the entire plan.

It was essentially typical American thinking, incite a European civil war, and through supporting the opposing side, trap them in prolonged conflict, rendering them economically immobile.

America would then enter the scene, harvest European wealth, and sign various treaties.

In a nutshell, profit from war!

Donnie nodded and said with a smile, “Mr. President thinks far ahead; I believe this strategy is feasible, so now, the most important thing for us is to encourage a European civil war.

Because only when war breaks out will it be most advantageous for us!”
