Chapter 838 - 842: I... Can’t Go Back Either
Capital Airport, bustling with people.
A tall man dressed in white casual clothes lazily dragged his luggage as he walked out of the exit. A baseball cap and wide-rimmed glasses covered most of his face, leaving only a sharp chin that looked like a character from a comic book.
He glanced around the airport hall and noticed a man in a suit holding a sign high above his head with the name "Augus" written on it.
Seeing him approaching, the suit-wearing man politely stepped aside, still looking towards the exit.
The man in white released the handle of his suitcase, raised his hand lazily, and tugged at the arm of the man holding the sign.
"Do you need something?" The man in the suit lowered the sign in confusion.
The man in white pressed his sexy thin lips together, lifted a finger to point at the sign in the man’s hand, then pointed at himself. "I am Augus!"
"You?!" The man in the suit sized him up, looking at his casual attire and finally settling on his face covered by the loose big glasses. "You are Augus?"
The man in white flashed a look of helplessness, raised his hand to remove the baseball cap and glasses from his head, lowered his face, and used one hand to tidy up his slightly messy long hair before raising his face again.
From between the shoulder-length loose hair, a delicate and charming face was revealed. His sexy lips curled slightly upwards as he offered a lazy yet elegant smile to the man in the suit.
"President Jiao?!" The man in the suit recognized the face and was instantly filled with excitement. "Why, it’s you! I never expected it to be you. Weren’t you traveling the world?"
This charming yet elegant man was Jiao Yang.
The man in the suit, named Liu Heng, was originally a planner at Asia View. Recently promoted to Executive Director, he came to the airport specifically to pick up the new president.
Except, he never expected that the new president would be his former boss, Jiao Yang.
"Yes, I’ve seen the whole world. I’m back to work now, are you not happy to see me?!" Jiao Yang asked with a smile.
"Of course not." Liu Heng hurriedly reached out to grab his suitcase. "Let’s go, we’ll talk in the car."
Jiao Yang put his baseball cap back on his head. Liu Heng made a phone call, and by the time they walked out the door, an Audi was already waiting outside.
Personally opening the car door for Jiao Yang, Liu Heng stuffed the luggage into the trunk, then climbed into the car, sitting beside Jiao Yang, and ordered the driver to drive.
As the car headed towards the airport loop, Liu Heng smiled and said, "President Jiao, you’ve been away for a long time, it’s been at least four..."
"Five years!" Jiao Yang interjected.
"Yes, five years, wow, time really flies."
"Indeed!" Jiao Yang raised his hand to touch his chin and gazed at the night scenery outside the window. "Beijing has changed a lot."
"Beijing changes every day. Not just you, even when I went on a business trip a few days ago, the buildings behind our housing area were still intact, returning, all demolished..." Liu Heng sighed deeply, reflecting. "When you left, I wasn’t married yet. Now, my child is about to start kindergarten. The world changes so quickly, unknowingly we’ve aged. Now, every time I look in the mirror, I feel older, but President Jiao, you haven’t changed at all, still the same as five years ago."
"How could that be?!" Jiao Yang frowned slightly. "I... can’t go back."
