Chapter 556 - 560: Luo Xiaoqian’s Video [5]

Originally expected to take a week, Luo Xiaoqian finished all the recording in just five days, and by Friday evening at past eight o’clock, all the work was completed.

After listening to the last recorded song from beginning to end, Luo Xiaoqian, satisfied, took off her headphones,

"You’ve all worked hard, dinner is on me tonight!"

"Your Emperor isn’t here, do you have the authority?" Yu Tong teased with a smile.

Leng Zimo had been on a business trip to Hong Kong since yesterday and was not in Beijing, hence Yu Tong’s teasing.

Luo Xiaoqian laughed, "I called him during my break just now, and Zimo has already taken care of everything at the Golden Palace. He reserved rooms for us and he’s footing the bill tonight, so don’t be shy!"

"So, it has already been approved, eh!" Zhuo Yannan, carrying a laptop, walked over. "Then tonight, we’ve got to fleece Xiao Qian properly."

"Exactly!" Yu Tong immediately grabbed her phone, "I’m going to call the guys right now."

"Sister Xu Pei," Luo Xiaoqian went to the desk to pack up her stuff and saw Xu Pei, who had already finished packing up, then promptly invited her with a smile, "Why don’t you join us too?"

"Of course, I wouldn’t miss such a great occasion," Xu Pei replied with a smile.

Everyone quickly gathered their things and went downstairs, where Zhuo Yannan’s team members, Xiao Zhou and Xiao Zhao, were already waiting upstairs; they split into groups to take the cars, heading for the Golden Palace.

As it was Leng Zimo’s own place, he was reassured about the security and did not have to worry about journalists sneaking in to take pictures; many people from Emperor View were accustomed to gathering there.

Leng Zimo was not in the Capital, but knowing that Luo Xiaocun had Gao Jie and Lin Ye by her side, he still opted for a familiar venue for her.

When the group arrived at the Golden Palace, the duty manager was already waiting outside. Spotting Luo Xiaoqian, he promptly greeted them respectfully and led them to the restaurant’s private room on the third floor for dinner.

Everyone took their seats, and the dishes and drinks were served quickly.

Xu Pei led the toast, raising her glass, "Here’s the first toast to Xiao Qian. I have to drive, so no alcohol for me. Juice will have to do. Here’s to her new album’s massive success!"

Although Luo Xiaoqian wasn’t much of a drinker, she also took a small sip as a gesture.

Everyone knew she wasn’t into drinking and did not pressure her. They were all young, and with Leng Zimo away, they felt free to let loose, enjoying the drinking games to the fullest.

Xu Pei then turned to Zhuo Yannan with a smile, "This glass is for you. This is our first collaboration, and considering my prior health issues, you’ve done a lot of work for me, thank you!"

"Director Xu, you’re too polite; all those were part of my job!" Zhuo Yannan responded.

"Well then, to a pleasant collaboration ahead, cheers!" Xu Pei extended her full glass.

Zhuo Yannan could not refuse, and the two clinked glasses and drank.

"Ya Nan has a strong tolerance for alcohol!" Xu Pei laughed while pouring another full glass for Zhuo Yannan. "Guys, Ya Nan is leaving for abroad tomorrow, shouldn’t we toast to him again?"

Her suggestion was immediately seconded by the young people around, each taking turns to raise a glass to Zhuo Yannan. Even Luo Xiaoqian came over to toast to him, expressing gratitude for his hard work over the recent days.

Though Zhuo Yannan could hold his liquor, he couldn’t quite handle this sort of reception and quickly became a bit tipsy, "I can’t do this anymore, I need to catch a flight early tomorrow."

"He seems to have drunk a bit too much. How about this: you young folks go have fun, and I’ll take him home," Xu Pei stood up and suggested.
