Chapter 209 - 210: Let Me Go
Several men, following the boss’s command, stood aside and did not dare to approach, but their mouths were not idle.
"Little girl, it’s such a shame for someone as pretty as you to die, just spend a good night with our President Li and it would be all over!"
"Exactly, come here, let brother take that bottle from you, wouldn’t want you to hurt these tender hands of yours, it would break my heart!"
...
Luo Xiaoqian cowered in front of a pillar, tightly gripping the bottles, incessantly pleading out loud.
"Don’t come near, stay away from me!"
She did not listen clearly to what they were saying—her ears rang with a buzzing noise, and the sounds were all muddled. The men’s faces looked vicious and terrifying in the dim room.
Li Defu quickly arrived, followed by subordinates holding a dripping wet umbrella.
Glancing at Luo Xiaoqian shrinking against the pillar, her spirit and body nearly at their limits, he gestured to the tattooed man with a slight nod.
"Luo Xiaoqian, why go through this? Forget it, I admire your spirit. Today, I will let you go!"
"Don’t come near!"
Luo Xiaoqian paid no heed, repeating only those four words.
At this point, the tattooed man had already circled from behind his companions to the back of the pillar, suddenly reaching out to grasp Luo Xiaoqian’s arm that held onto the bottles.
"Let go of me!"
Luo Xiaoqian struggled forcefully.
A few subordinates had already rushed over, some grabbing her hands, some her feet, pinning her to the ground.
Li Defu waddled over with his big belly, looking down at her with a disgusting smirk on his face.
"Strip her bare—after I’ve had my fun, she’s all yours!"
"Alright!"
The tattooed man laughed as he tried to take the beer bottle from Luo Xiaoqian’s hand, only to find her fingers clamped tightly, like a vice, and he could not get it out.
Outside, suddenly, several beams of light lit up, accompanied by the roaring sound of engines, as over a dozen camouflaged jeeps burst into the courtyard one after another.
"Who’s there?"
Li Defu lifted his face in surprise.
One of the subordinates strode to the window, looking out through the heavy rain, unable to discern who the newcomers were.
"The rain’s too heavy, can’t see clearly!"
While they were still puzzled, footsteps already started to sound on the stairs—solid footsteps that didn’t drag or slosh, indicating swift, well-trained movements by just their sound.
Several beams of light shone in, enveloping everyone in the room with their luminosity. Along with the intense light came a flat, emotionless voice.
"Everyone, hands up!"
The sudden burst of light blinded everyone momentarily. Li Defu turned his face, squinting his eyes to see the rifles in their hands, turned ashen-faced with fear and clumsily raised his hands.
The subordinates also noticed the long guns and dark muzzles pointed at them and were no longer daring to grab Luo Xiaoqian, each promptly raising their hands straight up.
Their faces turned ashen with fright.
Once the hold on her was released, Luo Xiaoqian immediately curled up, retreating back to the side of the pillar, her hands still instinctively clutching the beer bottle tightly.
"Drag them out!"
Accompanied by a cold, dispassionate command, several fully armed men rushed in from outside, handcuffed Li Defu and the others, and dragged them into the next room.
Heavy boots crushing glass shards on the floor approached, and a tall man with a crew cut slowly crouched down, gently lifting his right hand.
The people behind immediately directed their gun muzzles and lights away.
