Chapter 1367 - 1371: A Chance at Freedom

"My last name is Wang, Wang Yue, you can just call me Xiao Wang." The lawyer was very courteous. As he spoke, he took a document out of his briefcase. "This is Mr. Tang’s will contract. Please sign for it."

"Tang Ming?" Seo Fei was a bit surprised.

"Yes, Mr. Tang drew up a will before he passed. If anything should happen to him, all his assets would be transferred to you, mainly including his trading company and Seo Family’s stocks." Lawyer Wang glanced at the prison guard beside him, stood up, and moved to her side. He flipped to the last page of the contract in front of her and casually handed over the pen he was holding, "Please sign here."

Seo Fei raised her hand to take the pen. Upon receiving it, she realized that along with the pen, there was a small, soft thing. She didn’t dare look too closely and busy herself with grasping the object together with the pen in her hand.

Lawyer Wang raised his hand and pointed to the back of the document, "Sign right here."

"Oh!" Without a glance, Seo Fei signed her name on the document.

"All set, the documents are now in effect."

Lawyer Wang took back the contract and skillfully took the pen from between her fingers before sitting back down. Feeling the object in her palm, Seo Fei hurriedly pulled her hand back beneath the table, carefully stashing the item in a tattered compartment of her clothes.

By now, the female inmates had finished their meal and were preparing to start their day’s work in the workshop. Because Seo Fei was pregnant, she was exempted from work, so she was taken back to her cell without breakfast.

Back in the cell, she immediately climbed onto the bed, pulling a blanket over herself. Only then did she retrieve the object from her clothes. By the faint light peeking through the blanket, she clearly saw that it was a small plastic bag containing three pills and a note.

"Consume them all, and you will have a chance at freedom."

The note said so.

Seo Fei looked at the three pills in her hand, then at the note, a look of hesitation crossing her face.

The exact effects of these three pills were unknown to her. Could they be trying to silence her for good? Were they truly trying to save her?!

Yet, the word "freedom" on the note was so glaring, so tempting.

She knew nothing, and they likely did not intend to kill her. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have needed her to sign that document.

No matter what, she would have to take a risk. Slowly, Seo Fei brought the pills towards her mouth.

"You’re pregnant, and yet you’re trying to run? Aren’t you afraid of losing the child?!"

The prison guard’s voice suddenly thudded in her ears.

Seo Fei jolted, hurriedly retracting the pills and sitting upright.

Leaning against the wall, she raised a hand to gently stroke her abdomen. Inside, there was a small life. Though it was her first pregnancy, she was very aware of how taking medication during pregnancy could have adverse effects on the child.

This child belonged to Tang Ming; it would be his only child left on earth.

"Tang Ming, tell me, what should I do?!" Seo Fei raised her face, looking out the small window at the high wall outside, a sparrow passing by, "If you were still alive, you’d surely want me to be free, right? If I don’t take these pills, I might spend my whole life locked away here. Even if the child is born healthy, they would only endure a lifetime of contempt and suffering, wouldn’t you not want that?!"

With a grit, Seo Fei suddenly raised her hand and stuffed the three pills into her mouth, swallowing them forcefully.
