Chapter 1320 - 1324: I Will Never Forgive You for the Rest of My Life

Chapter 1320 - 1324: I Will Never Forgive You for the Rest of My Life

Looking around, even the usually bold Xu Xia couldn’t help but feel uneasy. She hurriedly pulled open the car door, jumped back inside, locked it, and tried starting the engine again, to no avail.

She tried turning on the car’s light; the reading light flickered on, indicating that the car’s remaining power was barely enough to support it. Using the light, she quickly grabbed her small handbag and searched through it for a long time but found nothing valuable.

Xu Xia opened the glove compartment and was lucky enough to find a flashlight.

After quickly tidying up her handbag and putting some eatables inside, Xu Xia held the handbag in one hand and the flashlight in the other, then pushed open the car door.

The highway wasn’t far from here. As long as she walked back to the highway, she’d be able to flag down a car, and then she could find a way to contact the outside world.

The car door opened, and the flashlight beam illuminated a silhouette immediately.

"Ah!"

Xu Xia was startled and frantically pulled her leg back inside the car, slamming the door shut. She shined the flashlight through the window, and outside, not far away, stood a creature with a massive head and small eyes staring at her from the grass.

The creature was pitch black, covered in stiff black hair, with small eyes glinting under the flashlight beam—it was a wild boar.

The human and the boar locked eyes through the window.

Not sure if it was attracted by the light or for some other reason, the wild boar suddenly started walking toward the car.

"Don’t come any closer!"

Xu Xia shouted in alarm. Despite her warning, the boar hesitated briefly and then continued to approach, sniffing around, finally reaching Xu Xia’s car door where it gobbled up a lollipop she had accidentally dropped, crunching it noisily.

Listening to the creature’s sharp crunching of the candy through the car door, Xu Xia could only swallow nervously.

The wild boar quickly finished the candy and, seemingly having no intention of leaving, lifted its head toward the car door, apparently looking for more food.

Xu Xia quickly turned off the flashlight, watching it through the window while softly praying.

"Dear Brother Boar, we have no past grievances, nor recent grudges. Please, after eating, just leave soon..."

The wild boar showed no regard for her plea, lifting its snout to the window and sniffing loudly.

Listening to its heavy breathing through the door, Xu Xia felt tremendously anxious. She raised her hand to press the horn, hoping to scare it away, but the horn had no response.

"What a piece of junk!"

Xu Xia cursed under her breath in anger, as if the car was sulking with her too; the reading light’s glow was dimming bit by bit until it completely went out—the battery was entirely drained.

Darkness completely enveloped Xu Xia. Worried that the flashlight’s power might also deplete, she tightly gripped it, curling her legs up on the car seat.

"Leng Zirui, if you don’t come to rescue me tonight, I will never forgive you for the rest of my life!"

Just as she finished her sentence, a light suddenly shone from afar.

Xu Xia turned her face in delight, indeed seeing a light approaching gradually—it was a car, moving toward her.

The wild boar seemed frightened, turning and running back into the woods.

Afraid that the car might leave, Xu Xia grabbed her phone, jumped out, and, clutching the flashlight, ran toward its headlights, waving her right hand holding the flashlight while running.

"Here, here, help..."

...

...

Goodnight.
