Chapter 62: My Husband Is Amazing
Chapter 62: My Husband Is Amazing
"What are you worried about? I cherish my life more than you do. You saw my driving skills; don’t forget to get my license sorted, the sooner the better.""Got it."
Lucy sprinted towards Jacob, and when she got close, she dashed forward and hugged Jacob’s neck, hanging onto him. "Hubby."
Jacob gave her a kiss, "You’re going to scare the hell out of Ah Feng."
"I told him not to follow, but he insisted. I was just practicing."
"You’ve only been taught for a short while and already you’re ready to graduate." Jacob rubbed her forehead affectionately. "What do you want for dinner?"
"I want some corn porridge."
"Anything else?"
"Steamed vegetables with fried eggs."
"What?!" Jacob didn’t quite catch it for a moment, "Steamed vegetables with fried eggs? What kind of combination is that?"hat’s Dr. Paxton’s insight?"
"Dr. Eaton, there are many overly confident newbie doctors like you." Female doctor Sarah Reed curved her lips into a mocking smile, "I advise you to first learn diagnostics in the department, and watch more surgeries from other doctors for clinical experience. Gather enough experience before you go on the operating table. After all, if you make any mistakes, it’d affect not just our department but also our doctors’ reputations, most importantly, it would disgrace the backing that helped you get in."
Lucy listened to her and wasn’t upset; she responded patiently, "Dr. Reed seems to forget that I’m just like you, an attending doctor in neurosurgery, not an intern. You have no authority to restrict me from the operating table. Also, while I don’t deny that diagnosing more patients gives a doctor more experience, and more experience leads to more reliable surgeries, that’s not entirely true. Saying ability is related to experience is both valid and invalid. Otherwise, how do you explain doctors who’ve been practicing for decades but never reached the rank of professor?"
"Sophistry." Sarah gave her a glare, "We’re doing this for your good; if you’re not grateful, fine, but don’t be unaware of who helps you."
"For my good?" Lucy asked with a smile, "Does saying that feel painful to you, Dr. Reed?"
"You..."
At that moment, the department chief walked in.
Sarah seized the chance to complain, "Director, perfect timing. Dr. Eaton insists on getting on the operating table. She’s not pleased with being denied. Explain how a fresh graduate with no clinical experience can be allowed on the operating table?"
A sudden arrival of a doctor without much experience puzzled the department chief. He had even discussed it with the hospital director, who didn’t hide Lucy’s identity but instructed him not to disclose it.
After finding out, the department chief was utterly shocked, meeting her for the first time, and couldn’t believe Lucy was Jacob’s wife and that Jacob was already married.
Who is Jacob? The entire hospital leans on Clan Green’s fortune.
It’s no exaggeration to say having Lucy as a doctor or even as a department director would be possible with a single word from Jacob.
So he dared not offend Lucy.
"Dr. Eaton is an attending doctor just like you; what’s stopping her from getting on the operating table?" The department chief glanced at Sarah, "Don’t assume working here longer gives you the right to bully new staff; that’s strictly forbidden in our hospital."
Sarah didn’t expect the chief to openly criticize her in front of so many people, feeling ashamed and furious, "We just don’t want her on the table temporarily for the patients’ safety, not forever."
