After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic

Chapter 708: How Did the Prince Die?

Chapter 708: How Did the Prince Die?

Connor laughed maniacally: "Hahaha, then bring him back to life! Who cares about that damn throne? Aren’t you all about to be destroyed anyway? Serves you right!"The guards’ faces changed when they heard his brazen words!

How could a prince wish for his own kingdom’s destruction?

The King wants him to inherit the throne, is this really feasible? Could he really be pushing his own country into the fire pit?

The King looked very upset, on the verge of anger, but he surprisingly held it back, his voice just a few degrees colder: "Lock the Prince up, let him reflect properly!"

He turned and walked out of the palace, and the guards silently followed him out.

The heavy palace doors closed, dimming the light, leaving the hall empty and lifeless.

Connor’s fists clenched and unclenched, over and over, before he finally calmed down.

Before meeting this so-called father, he actually had a bit of hope in his heart, thinking maybe there had been some misunderstanding, maybe the royal family sent him away for his own good.

If that were really the case, there was no need to make things too tense; everyone could sit down and talk it out, anything could be discussed.

But now, even that trace of hope in Connor’s heart had completely vanished.

He couldn’t remember anything from his childhood, not any guards or maids, no impression at all.

However, he always remembered that there was a "City" in his name, the name Emmett Price was given to him by the couple who later adopted him.

He didn’t even know his age, it was after Ben Hunter bought him, he had someone check his bone age to estimate it.

The King simply didn’t care for him; he didn’t want him as a child, and even after he grew up, he still didn’t want him, bringing him back only out of necessity.

Connor felt no sense of belonging here, he just wanted to return to Harry Hunter’s side.

He searched the palace for any gaps and finally climbed out through a window on the roof.

But the area was full of strict guards, and he was discovered as soon as he poked his head out.

Hel persuaded him from below: "Your Highness, go back, you can’t get out, even if you miraculously escaped, His Majesty the King would have you brought back again."

Connor sat atop the palace, about three stories high, seriously considering whether jumping down would break his legs.

"Your Highness, what’s wrong with inheriting the throne? Why are you so against it?"

The young guard couldn’t understand the Prince’s rejection of the throne and country, when so many people would fight tooth and nail to take over the S Kingdom.

Their country was very wealthy, though not large, it had incredibly precious mineral resources, and the ground held staggering amounts of oil.

"Once you inherit the throne, Your Highness will have endless wealth, you should listen to your father, strive to be a qualified heir."

Connor glanced down: "Sure, why don’t you start by telling me how I was thrown away back then?"

The guard immediately stopped talking.

Connor laughed mockingly, maybe he had a blood relationship with the King, but there wasn’t a shred of affection, he wasn’t interested in any throne or wealth.

He had quite a bit of wealth right now, money, status, power, none of it had any allure for him.

How did the original prince of the S Kingdom die anyway?

Connor was puzzled and casually asked Hel.

Hel hesitated for a moment, then said: "It’s actually no secret, Prince Ollen was killed by a woman he loved."
