After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic

Chapter 703: Quite Cheap

Chapter 703: Quite Cheap

Isabella Weaver returned to the company and received a message from Cora Ginger, inviting her to visit her home.It seems her relationship with Peter Barnes is going well, maybe they’re getting married soon?

Isabella replied to Cora with a "sure" and then pondered what gift to bring.

It wasn’t until quitting time that she decided to give them a pair of couple’s watches.

Returning home, she saw the lively fish swimming in her bathtub and decided to give them another pair of fish.

But she definitely couldn’t give them the ordinary ones from her fish tank. For presents, especially for those about to get married, it’s more festive to give big red koi fish.

She excitedly dragged Harry Hunter to the flower and bird market, bought some koi and had them delivered to her home, and strolled leisurely with Harry afterward.

"Hey, these parrots are nice too. How about giving them a pair of parrots as well?"

Harry extended his arm to protect her; the market was crowded in the evening, and he was worried she might get jostled.

"Didn’t Cora and Peter have a falling out?"

"They made up again!"

Isabella played with the parrots for a while before moving to another stall to look at other items.

There were many kinds of birds here, most of which she didn’t recognize.

"What species is this? It’s so beautiful!"

"Lovebirds, also known as lovebirds, are very good to their partners. Male and female parrots are almost inseparable, and if you raise them, you must have a pair; one alone won’t survive."

Harry lightly explained to her, although he wasn’t fond of these creatures, lovebirds had a special meaning.

He wrapped an arm around Isabella and asked her, "Do you like them? If you do, we’ll get two."

Isabella didn’t plan on keeping them; she intended to give them to Cora since they are known as lovebirds—

"Boss, I’ll take this pair!"

"500 bucks!"

"Oh, that’s quite cheap, honey, pay up."

Harry pulled out the money and handed it over.

His little darling had no life experience. Did she think this was cheap?

Lovebirds are quite common; this pair is worth at most 200 bucks. The boss asked for such a high price, and she thought she got a great bargain.

Harry didn’t burst her bubble; as long as Isabella was happy, that’s all that mattered. Telling her the real cost would ruin her good shopping mood.

Not short on money, spending a bit to make her happy was worth it.

The boss noticed Isabella didn’t know much, but he clearly heard Harry explain the habits of lovebirds in detail, indicating he was knowledgeable.

He set a high price, ready for bargaining, but didn’t expect to encounter a wealthy young woman who didn’t haggle and directly bought them.

Harry, with an outstanding demeanor, exuded a strong sense of presence. When he coldly looked at the boss, the boss shivered slightly.

The boss quickly said, "Since the lady bought my parrots so swiftly, I’ll give you a pretty cage for free. I usually sell this cage for a hundred!"

Isabella felt that the cage definitely wasn’t worth that much, but since it was offered as a gift, it was like a bonus!

Her eyes sparkled, delighted as she accepted it, beaming as she crisply said, "Thank you, boss, may your business prosper!"

The boss was dazzled by her smile, thinking to himself, wow, what a stunning beauty! Even her voice is so pleasant!

He picked up a pack of bird food and handed it to her, "You’re quite something, young lady. Here, I’ll give you a pack of the parrots’ favorite oats! Uncle didn’t earn a dime off you today!"

Isabella’s smile was so bright that her eyes narrowed. She thanked him and was about to take it when Harry stopped her.

Harry grabbed the bird food with one hand and carried the parrots with the other, shielding Isabella as he gave the boss a cold glance, then led his little darling away.
