After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic

Chapter 701: Target Isabella

Chapter 701: Target Isabella

Isabella Weaver ignored Peter Barnes for more than half an hour, and only when the meal was about to end did she raise her glass of water: "Boss Barnes, I toast to you with tea instead of wine. I hope you can take good care of Cora in the future. She’s a good girl.""Absolutely!"

Peter Barnes raised his glass and clinked it with hers.

So beautiful!

The creator was so partial to her; those hands were simply flawless!

"Peter?"

Cora Ginger noticed that Peter Barnes wasn’t speaking and nudged his arm: "What’s wrong? Isabella is toasting you!"

Peter Barnes snapped out of it, looking at Isabella Weaver with an even deeper gaze, and even spoke in a tone so gentle as if afraid to scare her: "Leave Cora to me, you can be at ease. Initially, it was to cooperate with Natalie Niles’ act, but I genuinely like Cora. Who wouldn’t love such an optimistic, cheerful, diligent, and pure girl?"

He spoke so eloquently!

The three women at the table were all somewhat moved, even Grace Watt gave Peter Barnes an extra glance, feeling that Cora Ginger had turned her misfortunes into a blessing by meeting such a good man, still from a wealthy family. Even she had to admit that Natalie Niles’ arrangement was brilliant, leaving no room for perfunctory, even selecting such an outstanding man to set the scene.

Who could refuse this?

Grace Watt clinked glasses with Cora Ginger and sincerely said, "Congratulations to you."

Cora Ginger almost burst into tears. Although she knew Peter Barnes was apathetic at heart, he always acted gentle on the outside, giving her full respect, and made her feel valued and cherished.

After lunch, Peter Barnes paid the bill, and the group walked out of the restaurant.

Isabella Weaver walked in the front, followed by Grace Watt, then Peter Barnes.

As they reached the door, just as Isabella Weaver was about to pull it open, Peter Barnes immediately brushed past Grace Watt to open it for her: "The restaurant doors are heavy, let me."

Isabella Weaver paused for a moment, thanked him politely, and walked past him out.

Peter Barnes was momentarily intoxicated by the light and pleasant fragrance on her body.

He felt like he was finished.

He was almost losing control, captivated by a young girl.

Where did Harry Hunter find her and marry her so early; no wonder the news always revealed how much he spoiled his wife—if she were his, he’d spoil her too.

As he watched Isabella Weaver walk away, he turned to look at Cora Ginger beside him, feeling instantly tedious and uninspired.

But he hid it well, his tone still gentle: "Cora, tomorrow is the weekend. You can invite Isabella over to our house."

Cora Ginger was shocked: "Can I?"

She was very afraid of being kicked out of the house again by Peter Barnes; now, not only did he not kick her out, but he also allowed her to invite friends over!

How did he become so good?

Peter Barnes gently patted her head, his elegant face full of affection: "Of course, you can. You’ve suffered these past few days, and I want to make it up to you."

"Can I invite others to the house too?"

"You can invite anyone you want."

Peter Barnes frowned slightly: "What, you don’t want to invite Isabella?"

His only target was Isabella Weaver; he was uninterested in other women. If Cora Ginger didn’t invite Isabella, it would all be in vain.
