Chapter 648: It’s Quite Nice for the Two of Us to Live Together

Chapter 648: It’s Quite Nice for the Two of Us to Live Together

Lucas Chambers and Connor looked grave, but neither showed a trace of panic, standing together side by side."You can’t escape yourself."

Connor sneered, "If I’m not mistaken, you really value your life. You even went to a private hospital for a check-up this morning!"

"You truly are concerned about me. I went to a hospital and you were already on my tail!"

Austin Winters wore a gentle smile, calm and poised, and said, "So I suggest you both run now, then none of us have to die. If you insist on catching me, then we’ll have to perish together."

Connor certainly had no intention of perishing together with him. If he’s managed to spar with Harry Hunter for so long and survive, he definitely has numerous survival tricks up his sleeve.

He didn’t expect to kill anyone this time before he came, just managing a good beating would be nice.

Too bad he couldn’t get close.

Connor pulled Lucas Chambers back to the floor-to-ceiling window, "Let’s spare him this time. He can’t stay cooped up in this house forever. Wait until he steps out before catching him."

Lucas Chambers, though unwilling, knew there was nothing to gain today.

He gave Austin Winters a deep look and jumped out the floor-to-ceiling window with Connor. Their crew quickly followed suit and left.

There were quite a few injuries, and Connor himself was bruised. The crowd flooded Valley Hospital, where the doctors and nurses were busy.

Johan Niles tended to Connor’s wounds and saw Lucas Chambers standing off to the side, not speaking, with a solemn and cold expression unlike his usual lively demeanor.

He whispered to Connor, "What has Major Chambers been stimulated by? Why suddenly change his demeanor?"

"A big fish slipped right under his nose, of course, Major wouldn’t be pleased about that."

Connor finished speaking, then saw an even grimmer expression on Lucas Chambers’ face.

He had to comfort Lucas Chambers, "Major Chambers, don’t be disheartened. As far as I know, Austin Winters doesn’t hold much power in that KS Organization. The real power should be his twin brother, Winters Seal, and his father, Tucker Seal. You wouldn’t get much out from Austin Winters even if you caught him."

"Still have to catch him!"

Lucas Chambers was actually very anxious. His superiors had issued several orders this afternoon to bring Natalie Niles back.

Unable to locate Natalie Niles, capturing Austin Winters could at least make up some of the loss.

"This is the closest fish to the core of KS I’ve encountered in recent years. Even if he doesn’t have real power, he surely knows plenty of secrets. Can’t let it go."

He already submitted an application to his superiors requesting support.

He originally came to A City to look for Natalie Niles, so he only brought a few people. To capture Austin Winters now, the manpower is far from enough.

With Connor’s wound taken care of, he wanted to go home, but Lucas Chambers followed him: "I’m staying at your place tonight!"

"No way!"

Johan Niles instantly blurted out and, seeing Lucas Chambers look over, realized he overreacted.

He stammered, "Well...I think...us staying together...is quite fine."

He said this with his face already red beyond comprehension.

He had never been this embarrassed in his life!

What kind of situation is this, why is it headed in such a dreadful direction?

Connor nudged Lucas Chambers, holding back a laugh with a deep face, "You better stay with Johan, don’t start off careless and end thoughtless!"

Lucas Chambers suddenly felt relaxed, wrapped an arm around Johan Niles’ shoulder, pulling him in, "What, finally realizing how great I am? Can’t bear to let me go?"
