After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic

Chapter 533: Come here, it’s time to sleep

Chapter 533: Come here, it’s time to sleep

Natalie Niles picked up a pear from inside and took a bite: "The Ginger Family spent over thirty million on me, and I can’t even eat a basket of their fruits?"Connor really couldn’t argue with that, so he just said, "Why didn’t you wash it before eating."

"Looks pretty clean to me."

Connor took another pear, washed it in the kitchen, and handed it to her: "Not clean. Who knows how many people have touched it. Eat this one."

Natalie didn’t take it and continued munching on the one in her hand: "On special forces missions, when food supply gets cut, I’ve eaten bugs and tree roots. This is way better already."

"Are you afraid I poisoned it?"

Natalie was unfazed: "Not at all. You’re too dumb to come up with something like that."

Connor was exasperated: "Oh, so you’re the smart one! Does that mean you put something in my pear?"

"Oh, yes, I did."

"Then why won’t you admit it!"

"I’m admitting it now, aren’t I?"

"Too late!"

Natalie didn’t care at all. She kept eating the pear as she walked upstairs: "Why didn’t you eat the pumpkin porridge I made for you?"

Connor followed up: "You made it?"

"Who else could it be? A ghost?"

Connor was silent. He didn’t know Natalie could be so domestic.

He originally thought the porridge was made by Cora Ginger. He was angry at Cora for abandoning him and refused to eat anything she made, so he hadn’t touched the porridge.

"Who cleaned my house then?"

"Me, of course!"

"Stop lying. It’s more believable that you made the porridge, but my house is so big. Could you have cleaned it all by yourself?"

"Oh, fine. I hired a housekeeping service, and then got a gardener to tidy up your Garden Estate too. See, don’t you think I’m perfect to marry?"

Connor nearly fell down the stairs!

She thinks she’s suitable as a wife?

She’d be more suited to playing the grim reaper!

"Why did you come to my bedroom?"

"To sleep."

Natalie finished off the pear in a few bites, used a wet wipe to clean her hands, took off her camo outfit, and climbed into the bed in a black camisole.

When she turned her head, she saw Connor standing beside the bed, staring at her in shock.

She patted the empty space beside her: "Come on, bedtime."

"Natalie Niles, get out of here! This is my bed! You’re not allowed to come to my house anymore. Who knows if you’ll drop dead here again!"

Natalie ignored his shouting, turned over, but the movement pulled at her abdominal wound, causing her to hiss in pain.

"You broke my ribs, and they’re not healed. If you want me to leave, carry me out, take me home."

"Move off my bed, or I’ll break a few more of your ribs!"

"Don’t believe you."

Natalie closed her eyes and pulled the quilt up: "Stop yelling. If you don’t want to sleep with me, go to another room. I’m really sleepy."

Connor clenched and unclenched his fists, over and over, yet couldn’t bring himself to do anything.

What’s going on, didn’t he handle her quite easily before?

Why does it feel so awkward now!

Connor was irritated. She’s not afraid of him taking advantage of her, right? Then what was there for him, a man, to be afraid of!

Fine, let’s sleep. Who’s afraid of whom? He’s not losing anything!

Connor took off his suit, put on a pair of loose shorts, and lay down on the bed.

Natalie opened her eyes, glanced over him from head to toe, making Connor feel completely uncomfortable.

"What are you looking at? Never seen a man before?"

"I’ve seen men, just not ones with such good proportions as yours. Emmett Price, it’s a pity if you don’t become a model."
