Chapter 469: A Devil Lives in Sister’s Heart
Chapter 469: A Devil Lives in Sister’s Heart
"What?!"
Isabella Weaver was taken aback!
She hadn’t seen Cora Ginger for several days. Cora had previously said she wasn’t feeling well, so Isabella didn’t ask her to come to work.
Could it be that she wasn’t unwell but was planning to get married?
How could this be?
She hadn’t heard even the slightest hint about it before!
Isabella immediately called Cora Ginger. The call went through, but no one answered.
Connor had already anticipated this. He called Cora Ginger too, but no one answered, and she didn’t reply to messages either.
With red eyes, he forced a smile: "I’m fine, Young Madam. Are you off work? Let’s go! I’ll drive you!"
His nonchalant demeanor made Isabella feel even more compassionate towards him. She looked at Harry Hunter: "Give Connor some time off, let him go find out what exactly is going on."
Harry Hunter nodded, his tone uncharacteristically gentle, "Go ahead, Connor!"
"No, I must protect the Young Master!"
Harry Hunter’s face turned cold, "Go now! Are you not listening to me anymore?"
Connor gave him a deep bow, turned around, and left.
Grace Watt, who had been invisible till now, stepped forward, "Young Master, should we call David?"
"No need, you drive, let’s go home."
"Yes."
On the way, Isabella Weaver held Harry Hunter’s hand tightly, not saying a word.
When they got home, Harry Hunter noticed she was still worried and couldn’t help but hold her while sitting on the sofa: "Don’t worry, Connor will handle it. If Cora Ginger really gets married, I’ll find someone else for Connor."
Isabella leaned against him, nodding lightly.
In the kitchen, Harry Hunter had replaced the maid, who cooked and the aroma of food filled the living room, adding a cozy touch to the home.
Isabella loved this feeling of home, loved having Harry Hunter by her side.
She suddenly cherished Harry Hunter even more; it wasn’t easy for them to be together, and she resolved not to act out anymore.
...
Johan Niles had been taking care of his sister all day. Yesterday, she fought with so many people, achieving a hard-won victory, but she was quite seriously injured.
He had injected Natalie Niles with anti-inflammatory and swelling medication. After seeing her fall asleep, he quietly walked out of her room.
The sun had already set. As he leaned on the sofa drinking coffee, he took out his phone, and after unlocking it, a message popped up: Cora Ginger and Connor had broken up!
Johan Niles jumped up from the sofa in shock, spilling coffee all over himself!
The message was sent to him by David. Worried that his sister might develop feelings for Connor yesterday, he had specifically instructed David to inform him if anything happened to Connor.
He couldn’t believe that what he feared had come true so quickly with Connor’s breakup happening like this!
He stormed into Natalie Niles’ bedroom almost in a fit of rage, waking her up: "Sis! Connor broke up, was it you?!"
Natalie Niles opened her eyes, her face filled with confusion, "What are you talking about?"
"Don’t pretend! Yesterday, you said you had your eyes on Connor, and you claimed they’d break up sooner or later. Now Connor broke up today! It must be you! How could such a coincidental thing happen otherwise?!"
Natalie Niles gave a bitter smile, "Johan, I’m your sister. How come anytime something bad happens, you blame it on me? You weren’t like this before, you used to trust me the most, you’ve changed, Johan."
"You weren’t like this before either! It’s you who’ve changed, not me!"
Johan Niles felt he could hardly breathe, there was a demon inside his sister! She had become someone unrecognizable!
"Connor’s breakup has nothing to do with me. I’ve been lying at home all day recovering, how do I have the time or energy to wreak havoc? Haven’t you been with me the whole time? I did nothing!"
